Yes. It was an unwritten agreement between her and him - she needed punishment as a release as he needed to dominate so she would be naughty to tempt him into it.

yes, it was to upset him and gain his attention which ended up backfiring on her.. this is called "topping from the bottom" and trying to get punishment from your Master/Mistress by purposefully disobeying is a big no-no! :)
