*NO NO NO* - MPG is only calculated when using the fuel on a continuous basis during that test. Not travelling a bit, then using electric, then going a bit more. MPG is ONLY calculated when fuel is used and not when you are using the battery. Stop misleading people with your inaccurate description. A prius only manages about 30MPG on the petrol engine. If Toyota were serious they would put a diesel turbo in the prius as diesel technology overtook the prius 20 years ago. It's an old design.
