I saw Gilad and the OHE last weekend, and it was magical.....goosebumps regularly occurred :) A pure artist, with wit and intelligence in his communication, and a compassionate, rational stance regarding the abominable mess that is Israel/Palestine.
EISE MESHUGA ATA...GILAD...HOW CAN YOU SAY SUCH A FALSE STATEMENTS...INVENT MISINFORM AND BLAIM THE STATE OF ISRAEL...YOUR COUNTRY AND MOLEDET...AND KEEP CALLING YOURSELF A PATRIOT OR A JEW...SHAME ON YOU...ANTI-SIONIST AND ANTI-SEMITIC AS HITLER WAS...YOU ARE MENTALLY DISTURB AND NOT ISRAEL , HIS HEROIC ARMY OR HIS SUFFERING PEOPLE...AND THE PALESTINIANS THAT YOU DEFEND ARE A BUNCH OF TERRORISTS CALLED HAMAS...HISBALLAH...YIAD ISLAMI...NAZERALLAH AND AJMEDIN-EJAD SOLDIERS OF GENOCIDAL IRANIANS
@alfonsoebennez anti semite...lol...i thought you had settled on "self-hater", have you read his book? i'm guessing not. please don't feel persicuted but you are the occupiers according to most of the world & historical accounts/archeological evidence etc etc...it goes on........................you live in palestine, surely that is obvious, sorry if it is not to you! I wish the people could leave some of thier hate behind it must be hard, hating so many so much. lets all live and love together!
>>He is continuing a long tradition of jazz as a music of resistance.
It must be a resistance against freedom then; otherwise, I look forward to his first concert in Gaza at (nothing grand, say) a wedding or an unsegregated audience. Yeah maaan, men and women. Like..uh, together? Now THAT'S radical.

He is a fresh cool breeze on a hot summers day, OK I know he plays the same notes in every song only in different places & THOSE are his words not mine,, gilad speaks to what Jazz is all about, the freedom to express.
The true gift Gilad has is the gift of letting the audience in.
Apart from being a brilliant player he is a fun person to be around as long as you have something intelligent or funny to say.
I heard Gilad and the OHE recently and it was a concert I'll never forget. This is a true artist at work, not only does he have the virtuoso technique, he has something relevant to say with it. He is continuing a long tradition of jazz as a music of resistance.

@AstroElk He is a prophet in many minds!
A prophet is best understood as one who points out danger and provokes some people to at least think about God!
