@Holden308 - Mate it was Paul Taylor playing fullback for the Eels in this match, Peter Sterling was halfback - but yes they were certainly lookalikes back in those days. Would be interested to see if Taylor lost as much hair as Sterlo
Ah, the good old days when you could run on the field and pat your heroes on the back. I remember it well from a game way back in 1975. Those guy's backs were HUGE to a little kid like me.
Would like to see Rex's post match summary of this match. Have you got it? I reckon he would have had a good a good old fashoned cop at Jack Gibson. Let me guess the closing titles ended with the "The Theme from Shaft" You should up load it
Sorry mate, wish I could. The copy of the match I have ends just after where the uploaded footage stops. Only comments missing are Rex saying "Great stuff by South Sydney and the most exciting game I have televised this year bar none" Rex then goes onto announce Ken Wright as the man of the match and the coverage ends.

Is that Peter Sterling playing fullback for Parramatta? He did make his 1st grade debut at FB if people remember back to the 1978 finals.
