Great scene shame you missed some of the first line. Whenever I get on a train I like to say "I certainly hope there's enough space on the train for me" in a bad Jamaican accent.
I love that a lot of gay people "live for" the song, "the ha dance", by masters at work, but none of them know this is where the beat came from... Lol
I met Dan Aykroyd at a liquor store in Allentown, PA earlier today (6-30-2011). He was promoting his line of "Crystal Head" vodka. When I met him, the poor guy must have heard over 500 references to either Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers from rabid fans. So, I referenced this scene as I approached him. I told him I was pleased to meet the famous Lionel Joseph. He was very taken aback to hear such an obscure film reference. He responded, "Ay Man!" in a Rastafarian accent. It was awesome.
@gman1868 Here's a video of his Allentown appearence (not mine): watch?v=g9STi6vJpyE
I have a couple videos of the event on my camera, as well. One of me waiting in line to see him (there's a clear view of him at his table). The other video is of another guy's Ecto-1 Ghostbusters wagon, it was in the parking lot of the liquor store. There's also someone else's video of that here: watch?v=OSZLDaIWkBY&feature=related
I wonder if Harry Connick Jr is offended from this scene (i.e. "Hey Hey It's Saturday" appearance). "This wouldn't happen in America".......IDIOT...This is a great movie.
A truly, one of the best movies, and they don't make it anymore. And hey, no computer or special effects whatsoever. All you need is a good and interesting story. Does anyone agreeing with me?
iam white and my dear friend yohan is black.for years we have done this seen every time we see eatch other.and we send christmas cards saying to lionel joseph and ningy umboco. merry christmas my dear brother.
I am originally from Cameroon and I find this video hilarious. Uno, Nanga-Eboko is an ethnic group, secundo, they certainly do not dress up like that traditionally. But, well it is just a movie right! Lol.
I can still sit down and watch this movie and get a big laugh out of it. At the beginning of the movie when Eddie says Billy Ray Valentine "Capricorn" and this part on the trains still cracks me up after all these years.
idk if any of you know it but the part @ 23 seconds that is apart of the traditional music that we vouge off of and has been the song called The HA By Masters At Work
@Doug19752533 I guess the guy who gave the name "Lionel Joseph" was a "stupid f*#$er" or is it me for telling the story? I defended the "Lionel Joseph" guy later in a jury trial & we got a "not guilty" jury verdict. The jury told us afterward the trial was actually as funny as the movie.
@WilliamRowlett lol i meant the guy who smarted off to the cop - didnt mean anything towards you. while it is funny as hell someone would do that, cops dont have much of a sense of humor lol
Man whats the deal with eddie murphy now, trying to play good daddys and trying to appeal to the pg13 crowd,he actually looks ''uncomfortable'' playing htose roles,i miss the eddie murphy with the sharp tongue and comic wit in the 80s,i spose people eventually lose thier edge
I know a guy who was going to a Halloween party several years ago dressed as "Lionel Joseph". He got stopped by a cop on the way who asked what his name was and he answered, "Lionel Joseph". You can guess what happened next. He told the cop he was joking; that his real name was "John Smith" but it was too late. He went to jail for giving a false name to a police officer. I guess the cop saved him from getting a DWI later that night.
The rest of the story ... "Lionel" hired me, I said to the prosecutor "We want a jury trial." On day of trial, the DA dismissed. I guess they didn't want a jury to see law enforcement at its most absurd. Still, I'll always love Lionel Joseph.

But don't worry, once his second youngest turn 21 Eddie will be back...Red Foxx style.
