Devon, as the main person many people knew, was humble and respectful, yet knew when to strike at the right time. Killing and replacing him with this arrogant guy is something I have never gotten over to this very day.

If a proper sequel were to be done, it must be done respectfully - to continue on the legacy of the storyline and show, not ruin it. It must be crafted out with a WELL-WRITTEN script by WELL-CHOSEN cast and crew, not a bunch of moronistic scoundrels.

I love those Fast and Furious movies too, But Knight Rider wasn't about all that stuff. I personally think the best way to do it is to take it back to it's roots and go full Retro with it and bring back that 82 Black Trans Am that we all fell in love with as KITT. They could always put some modern Graphics in there and make the special effects better and all that. But KITT was bad ass for his time. Still bad ass. It could work. And put KNIGHT RIDER on the BIG SCREEN for ONCE!! It's overdue!! :)

I HATE it when they keep bringing back Knight Rider and never bring back KITT as we all use to know him as. KITT was a 82 Black Trans Am!, Not that Red POS in this movie that he later becomes, KITT was not a MUSTANG! I hated the new Knight Rider and missed the original KITT. Every time they have brought back Knight Rider it has failed horribly. I think if they are going to bring it back, they need to bring it back right. Stop trying to please the Fast and the Furious Crowd.

@snosavenski I think the problem with the Knight Rider remakes is that either they are way too serious or way too campy. And the original 80s show was already pretty campy and cartoony, so it's inexusable to have a 2008 TV series be even MORE preposterous/silly then the original 80s series. Then you had the 90s Team Knight Rider series, which was just way too serious and dark. They all miss the middle ground of goofy fun mixed in with some kinda believable plot that the original series had.

@gothatway09 , The biggest issue with the reunion movie and all the remakes and  so on is they didn't fallow what made the original series so special. they changed to much of it to update to today's audience and in the process ticked off fans of the original series. The only thing good about Team Knight Rider was the intro music and the two Women. the new Knight Rider just sucked as did the Reunion movie.

@shawnhbkdx90 Actually in that pilot theres apparently two trans ams; one partially disassembled and one together. Its unclear(but assumed) that one is kitt. Additionally, in one of the original episodes, it was stated that there was a backup body, though it wasn't used when kitt was destroyed so I take that with a grain of salt like half the gadgets we never see again.

Why they just didn't (oh, I KNOW why Maddock didn't) transplant the old KITT AI into the new 4000 body to give the more experienced mind a worthy mate in a stronger body, I will never know. Or better yet, why not just have made the entire project about remaking KITT for the new era, which is to me what happened when the ex-Pontiac got his new Dodge Stealth (in name only, I know) body. As smart and intuitive (and as sarcastic) as ever, and tuned and primed for any and all newcomers.

If you want to see a good scene of Devon really pissed off, I can't think of the episode title, but it's where some friends of Michaels get poisened by this rare orchid, and finally Michael himself does. Anyway, theres a scene at the foundation where they have a suspect that there questioning and he's a total ass, and Devon loses his patience and looks like he's about to deck him. I believe it's season 3 if that helps. He grabs him by the collar, scares the hell outta the guy, it's pretty rad.

Actually Michael did eventually punch out Maddock (YES!!!) when he insulted Devon mid-way through the movie, after the drudge up the 57 Chevy. then to really make Maddock suffer Michael installs KITT (the real KITT) into the 4000 just to piss him off really bad.

Tania Walkers almost killed Michael Long. FLAG (Foundation for Law and Gouverment) gave Michael a new face and a new name: Michael Knight. Michael Long does not excist anymore. After that all Wilton Knight asked Michael to be the Knight Rider. Michael saw a car that exactly looks like hes old Trans-Am, but this car had the newest technology. After a couple of days Michael said 'yes' and he became the new Knight Rider with KITT (Knight Industries Two-Thousand). This is how Knight Rider started!

It only looks like his car but not his car could also mean that it no longer is the car that he left in the desert, but the shell actually was his car. It can't be coincidence that millions of people assumed that Wilton Knight and FLAG simply took Michael Long's Trans Am, installed KITT's CPU and molecular bonded shell and other gizmos and then...ta da...KITT as we know him.

The '82 Trans-Am was new that year. They gave him the new car as his car, and K.I.T.T was obviously an '82 Trans-Am. It was not left to interpretation. In the episode Michael makes his confusion known by saying several times "that's my car", but Devon tells him it only LOOKS like his car.

The whole "car looks the same" thing was sort of a preview. Like when David Hasslehoff had a cameo in the first episode BEFORE he had his surgery to make him look the way he does. His face is in the shadows, but it's him and not the actor playing Michael Long. Letting you see what K.I.T.T looks like before seeing him was just a foreshadowing kind of thing, but his car and K.I.T.T were always separate.

K.I.T.T. had been in development a long time. Remember K.A.R.R.? He was put into storage long before Michael joined. And he looked exactly like K.I.T.T in his first appearance.

K.I.T.T had a HELL of alot more than his CPU, MBS, and scanner added. The episode explained they built K.I.T.T. from the ground up. And he cost $11.4 million.

I watched the Nightrider 2000 movie when it came out and many times since, and I've paid very close attention to this particular scene. The contents of the huge bin are supposed to contain KITT's dismantled body but if you look closely, you see a steering wheel from an ordinary car, and other parts that don't look even vaguely familiar. one of KITT's hubcaps or the linear shaped steering wheel would've sold the scne to me.

Sorry TCB. Michael Long is driving a Trans-AM when he is shot in the face ten minutes into the pilot, but it's not KITT. KITT was developed by Wilton Knight and the Foundation for Law And Government. When Michael recovers and is shown KITT for the first time by Devon, he mistakes it for his car. Then Devon smashes the hood with a mallet to show Michael the indestructibility of the molecular bonded shell. He agrees to work for FLAG and the rest is history. But KITT ... definitely NEVER his car.
