Okay everybody seems to be confused by sniper guy's comment. My guess is "that's an M1 Garand" referred to what was described in a deleted comment, and then the second sentence (which 95% of you skipped entirely because who needs to read the whole comment before making fun of it) was correcting that comment.

Also, yes, original M14 had full-auto - there was even a version meant to be used as a squad assault weapon. Really high recoil, though, so a lot of them were locked to semi-auto only.

@muh1h1 It's an air soft replica. It doesn't use normal bullets, but small plastic balls. This one is propelled by a small gas container. Pressure releases the ball.

The M1 is the predecessor to the M14 The M1 had an internal magazine loaded using whats commonly known as a "stripper clip" which never enters the rifle, it only holds the rounds in place so the Soldier may simply push them into the magazine instead of loading them 1 by 1. the most significant difference between the m14 and the m1 is the removable external magazine along with the ability to fire fully auto other than that the M14 is an M1!

The M14 was never made as a sinper Rifle.. Thats why they made the M24/M700..

The M14 was a direct replacement of the M1 Garand, and the M14 was disigned as a selective fire infantry rifle..

There was however made a DMR version.

But DMR's and real sniper rifles are not used for the same thing..

You'll never get an M14 to hit anything beyond 800 meters, because of the recoil and the rounds it uses.

@EZtrollin That's because it's not the m1 garand. The m1 garand is an m14 without the bottom magazine. It was used during ww2 and korea. it was built in 1936 as the battle rifle for america. it will make the 'ping' or 'ching' noise you are thinking about after 8 shots. :)
