The reason they didn't use this is because having Megatron, Optimus, and the US military all fighting on screen at the same time in conjunction with this song would have caused theaters all over the country to burst into flames from overexposure to pure awesomeness.

Just my opinion, but I don't think this song would match the new Transformers, because this song has the sort of 'old' theme to it, and the new Transformers movie is wayyyy more modern. I like the beginning of the song, but not really when the guy actually starts singing. xD

Lion were a 1980s rock band best known for their theme song from the 1986 animated movie The Transformers: The Movie.

A hard rock quartet, Lion were formed in 1983 after ex-Tytan vocalist Kal Swan (born Norman Swan) relocated from London to Los Angeles and teamed up with drummer Mark Edwards, who had been in Steeler alongside Yngwie Malmsteen and 3rd Stage Alert.

@iannecheyne Wrong band, LION did this song, they returned the TV theme intro and turned it into this awesome theme for the Transformers Animated Movie back in the 80's White Lion just has a similar name and was active for similar years. White Lion is incorrectly given credit here, but they deserve their own praise for their political songs.
