Wanna know why? Because this tutorial is pointless. You can only change your pasword this way if you have the rights. In this tutorial, he is the admin so of course it is not going to deny him access. But from an account without admin access, you will be denied access.

If you're not logged in and need to crack the admin, run a linux based boot disk (found in google) which allows changing of the password without accessing the windows operating system. Done it twice now and works perfectly.

simply boot your windows in safe mode (before the bootscreen just press the F8 key) and login to the administrator account, the hidden one. Once there, go to control panel and user accounts, you will be able to remove the password of that account. Have fun! (if there is somthing you don't understand, just send me a private message)

However if they do hide it well open a notepad file and type without the marks:

Not useful as you need root to change the root password as you can clearly see his is already logged in as "owner" which is root. Also to the lamer who recommended safe mode admin is not always enabled as a login for safe mode there slick. Besides if it is not your account the account owner will surely recognize his pass has changed. Just use ophcrack or any number of the live linux boot cd's that allow you to dump the pass for cracking

net user is disabled depending on the security savvy-ness of the owner of the box. Doesnt do much and doesnt have much leverage since you already need root on the box. and we all know "If you have root (admin for you noobs) you have total control over the box".

Fine heres the real way to do it:

1.Start the target system in Safe Mode (just safe mode)

2.Then use the Administrator named account, and log in with it in Safe Mode.

3. Goto control panel,then Users,and make a new account with admin privlages.

4. restart and use the account you just made to do w/e you want.... Enjoy!

Hello. I messed with my password in cmd.exe and it got randomized.. I accidently loged out without knowing my new password. As I at the time only had one account activated I didn't get into the cmd.exe to change it back. Only when I went to safety modus there was a guest profile there that I could log into and change it from there ;)
