They apparently fixed this BF3. You actually grab the guy and stab them but it only works from behind. Also you must pull the knife before hand and not insta-stab. Technically speculation from observations of alpha gameplay footage.

yeah, its pretty pointless knifing unless someone is camping and standing still.... even if u get a perfect knife, in most cases it wont register.

he ejected his shell like 3 times and yet it still said he had 9 shots. they should try to make it so it freezes in the empty clip or recocking the gun animation so you cant drop the clip 8 times. it would be epic. and related to the video, this used to happen to me all the time but it seems the last patch made the knifes register better

Yep knife fails but they fixed it a little bit. still happens that jou don't knife someone but not as often anymore as it did. I knifed a guy 6 times and he didn't die, after that i just shot him and T-Bagged him.

This actually reminds me of a Counterstrike map, back when I used to play it. It was some kind of oil refinery or something and it had a naval ship you could go on to and then there was this really long dock that you could run down, that had shipping crates on it. I used to hide down there with the Sig550 and snipe people, but I haven't seen that map for a very long time.

you press the melee, and you knife the enemy extremely fast without switching weapons. there's no "melee-knife" buttom in older BF games. in older BF, you have to switch to knife before you knife the enemy

But they kinda had to, considering the main target was for Console players. (console port) Pushing a button to take it out and another to use it is very timely, simply because it doesn't have the amount of 'keys' the computer has.

Older BFs you could scroll or hit a number, so it was very fast. Most games do this now to, for a lack of a better word, dumb it down so the buying market can increase in age both ways.
