I found this one funnier than the Chaser one. What made it better, in my opinion, was the acting ability of the cast. The Chaser guy just didn't come across as believable. If you're going to do something tasteless, make sure you do it well.

Both of these are somewhat reminiscent of The Onion's video about a selfish child bankrupting the Make a Wish foundation.

Of course, The Chaser started as an Australian take-off of The Onion, before they branched out.

I think there was a justifiable ethical case for showing the carnage associated with Vietnam and WW2 (to help stop the war) that doesn't exist with showing sick kids dying of cancer (for laughs). I wonder if you have had someone in your family dying of cancer? For the record I am a fan of Chaser, I just think they made an error of judgement.... we all do from time to time... let's move on to the next episode.

I found the skit funny.. i chuckled at the stick part..

Not so much about the they'll die anyways so why bother... But still i did find most of it comical and funny..

i reckon the reason the chasers skit was perceived as offensive is for this line....

The rest of the sketch was offensive but still pretty funny, it was that point that I think would have struck a raw nerve with alot of people. Perhaps its the point where the reality of it sets in and people realise that its a pretty grim and real issue.

I actually think the publicity this created for the sick kids is going to be very positive for donations.
