I guess the idea is that if you close the factories then you abstain yourself from blame because you are no longer producing C02. But the goods from those factories are still required. And they will have to be shipped half way around the world to where they are required. Which is a C02 cost in itself. But the real drawback is once the goods are not produced in your own factories you no longer have any control over the efficiency of those factories.

If the Govt wants us to swallow this load that they are spewing, then THEY must use solar, wind, bio, etc fuels in ALL their fucking war machines and Gov't installations. Bet THAT won't happen! Honestly, plastics and other petroleum should be reserved for the medical industry - how do you run an IV into a patient if we've wasted all of our petroleum. Is there another suitable material that we could use? The entire road/car paradigm is lost. A paintjob is thousands of dollars, just to color-code something for the cops to keep track of. This is all a complete joke.
