Your playing the intro wrong. The acoustical part is off too. But at least you can play it. Work on the pinch harmonics, if you hit them closer to the active pickup they'll have more power.

Try to use your thumb and pick at the same time when strumming, and try to make it sound nothing like a note. While doing that, wiggle your finger up and down on the string or fret board. that's how i do it anyway

It has always been pinch, but I like that - pitch makes much more sense. It has been referred to as pinch or pick harmonic - they are all stupid names, as you can do them without holding anything. It is surely more about the pitch - because the concept comes from basic, or natural/classical harmonics.

It's standar E but you tune it down just a little on every string so you get to 430 herz on your tuner so half between E and #D.

Check out my channel just to the top right corner - I did a video on that too. Hopefully it will help you, it helped other guitar players get it down.

It shows the thumb in detail. Start by over-doing the thumb part (exaggerate it) and then you can refine it from there.

I understand - at first its very difficult, but I teach people this early on. Barring is one of the most useful methods of guitar. It frees up the use of the fingers, builds stronger hands, and gives you the ability to make it sound like there are 2 guitar players playing at once - now that's awesome!! :)

Understandable. I do for some things, but it depends on the circumstance. Sometimes the pinkie can get a guitar player into trouble, especially in the higher regions of the neck, also depending on the guitar.

Again, just my approach to playing - I had to make it my own, and I really liked Django Reinhardt's limited approach so I banked on that for the fretting hand. I'm glad I did this, it gives me control over some of my own patterns that others can't play. Hope this explains :)

This guitar is no doubt way out of tune, as this was something that I did half heartedly, but the original tuning is half step dropped I believe.

It doesn't really matter what tuning you play it in unless you are a purist. If you are in a band, and your singer isn't flat, go ahead and play it in standard. That's why most metal bands drop their tunings.

I'm using a Toneport recording interface. I lost this old setting but I can come close to telling you what to do with any old amp.

Bass: 5

Mid: 7.5 - 10

Treb: 7.5 - 8

Drive: 7 - 7.5

Here's the secret. Use a touch of reverb, and then add a slight instance of delay. You don't want to hear the delay, you just want to create a second reverb through the delay. This gives you a really creamy sound. Thanks for the compliments :)

I believe its Eb tuning that Dime always used. Just tune strings down a halfstep. I'm sure my guitar is somewhat out of tune in this video, since my strings were reaching that dead point, so don't try and tune to my guitar in the video or anything ;)

I believe that its Eb in specific, but it doesn't matter because you can play this song in tunings of C, D, E, Eb, etc. - it all depends on how picky you are, but the notes are the same.

It also depends on the singer. Metal bands will substitute tunings on behalf of the singer's range - Alice in chains is a great example - nothing wrong with this though. You do what you want = that's metal, and not "you aren't tuned right" ;)
