  • Would love to see Jaco and Les jam! ah... only in my dreams :(

  • victor wooten! would of killed!!!! this lmao

  • When gods like to have some fun on earth, they disguise as some peculiar mexican shamanas and play e.g. the bass like the devil himself. Then they attract attention with an incredibly quirky biography and go to phut as the least thing on earth – e.g. on a cross or at the fist of a doorman. And as usual, they end up somewhere unknown. And even if there's one of them among all the others, that seems so be completely "normal": Don't fall for it! It's just the same thing, just the other way round!

  • 0:48-0:52 - A typical originated Jaco-phrase from somewhere in the outerspace... Incredible!

  • Ist das übel, dass solche Leute ihr Können mit ins Grab nehmen …

  • he laid the foundation for bass players

  • @pibroch actually it is you who are very wrong... The artist who was playing wanted it on 2 and 4!!! you can't argue with that! Clapping belongs on 2 & 4 with the music that Jaco loved also...

  • Jaco Pastorius, electric bass

Jimi Hendrix, electric guitar -or Frank Zappa

    Tony Williams, drums

    ...a Gods trio jamming forever.

  • @TheQualifiedCritic fail. do the world a favor and chug a bottle of drano.

  • @justdiemodell just admit this: he sounds like he has been playing bass for only about 5:49 in his entire life. what rubbish. im confident he has never picked up the bass before shooting this video. what a wanker.

  • @TheQualifiedCritic you're a little professional comedian, only nobody -mama & papa- told you. bye bye baby

  • @TheQualifiedCritic This music is beyond you. Go back to trolling Juggalos, they're a much better intellectual match for you.

  • @TheQualifiedCritic

    HAHAHAHAHAAHAH. Dude, you're cool.

    "real bass player like primus"

I just love the internet. Where else can one meet people like you? Hahahah.

  • @TheQualifiedCritic Les claypool and Jaco are both amazing fuckin bassists but there two totally different genres so don't try to compare them at all. and Jaco might i add is one of the most legendary bassists of all time and if u can't accept that well go fuck yourself :)

  • The bass line at 2:18 sounds like Funky Broadway.

  • @markanenberg It is Funky Broadway.

  • @markanenberg it is funky broadway..

  • @markanenberg it is good ear :)

  • @markanenberg Double that! Tommy Cogbill was awesome :)

  • @markanenberg It is definitely Funky Broadway... That tune was a huge early influence for Jaco when her first started playing bass many years ago... He talks about it in his "Hudson Music Modern Electric Bass" instructional video.

  • @markanenberg It sound like he yells "funky, funky broadway" at 3:35 - 3:40"

  • can someone tell me what song is he playing at 2:18 ?

  • @JonCities yep..it´s funky broadway...great!!

  • やっぱワンアンドオンリー!

  • Ahh... this is great stuff! Actually I'm quite sure I've heard that loop

sampled for a house or techno record, got to have been back in

the good'ol' nineties. A Dutch release, perhaps? Fresh Fruit Records?

Can't remember... I'd like to have this shit on record though!

  • Really cool ! 2011, new videos of Jaco, another one please !

  • grande Jaco, solo tu. Mitico!!

  • awesome player-even though he's just a little out there

  • Subtle.

Doesn't mash it up...establishes a groove then lets it fall away...We aren't experiencing the accoustics of the hall.

    It's Scattering.

Wot's the issue of It's just a modified version of...?

  • sorry the beggining is like "teen town", he kinda looses the song towoards the middle

  • this is just a modified version of "teen town" (much funkier i like it more ;) ) great song great bassist, great fan !

  • @giunny96 This is Wilson Pickett's Funky Broadway. Jaco's interpretation here is awesome, I love it! He slows it down and adds a little of everything. The percussion is there along with the horn section; all done on the bass. Another great performance by the Master of the electric bass. Rock on Jaco.

  • OMFG just keep on listening over and over 1.32 - 1.41 How the hell did he come out with that? did u hear that? no way ...an other planet!

  • @canonir257 lol i would call it minimal-techno bass

  • master of a new sound planets. Jaco I love you!

  • I love how he corrects the stupid crowd that starts clappin on 1 and 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @casanodrums I don't agree with you... different crowds the world over clap differently.... after listening to live bootlegs for the last 20 years i learned that

  • @casanodrums He had to fix that for them.

  • @casanodrums

You're right !!!! It changes everything ! Sometimes I try to do the same, but I am anonymous in the crowd... it is more difficult.... :)

  • @casanodrums not nice to call the audience (who are supporting the artist) stupid.

  • @casanodrums I strongly disagree: clappin on 1 and 3 is more contrapuntal to Jaco's playing and sounds cool - clappin' on 2 and 4 sounds lame but obviously much easier for Jaco to play with. The audience had it right the first time and would hardly be the unsophisticates you seem to imagine.

  • @pibroch LOL you "strongly disagree" with what Jaco wanted? What a total numbnuts.

  • @PutItAway101 agreed hahaha

  • Amazing. How did we lose him so quickly?
