  • is there any way to change the led color with out putting in all new leds if there is how can it be done if there is noway then what kind of leds would u need and how many would u need and what kind of solder

  • @dragonwind1982

You need something called RGB led's. No you can't use the red/blue leds in your keyboard you need to get the RGB ones.

    Hope it helped :)

  • how ?

  • nice!! :)

  • This is a hard mod people ... you cant just download it > you need to take your keyboard apart and modify it!

  • thats nuts

  • anyone know if this can be done w/o a hardmod?

  • can you please tell me how to make this!? I WANT THIS! there is nothing on the site about how to make it...

  • What's the name of the music playing?

  • SHARE THE APPLET?? ?

  • dude give the downloadlink ^^

  • How can i download this ?:D

  • 1 serious bug in its design 1.30 :)

  • @Mitch200714 hahaha really a bug

  • did this exist for G13?

  • the G13 gamepad already had built in color changing, so there is no need for that.

  • how i can change the colour???

    sorry for my bad english.

  • he modified his keyboard.

English isn't bad but its how can i not how i can ;D

  • download?

  • Lol, sorry for the double comment, but in case i did change all the LED's, how are you supposed to hook it up to a controller?

  • your CPU Meter is bugged!

  • when i buy g15 at my local shop, can i do this ?

  • haha no LoL ^^

  • nope, you have to mod it physically

  • can i change all buttoms and lcd to blue ???

  • its not bad but i wouldnt bother...im swapping my G15 for a sidewinder X6...it has blood red backlight and the board just looks awesome

  • Lol nerd heaven keyboard you got there :P

  • jebany mc gajwer xd jeszcze taką muzę sobie tu puścił :D dobre dobre, 5/5

  • can you help me what leds i should put in it? And is it easy to change the leds?

  • hey do you put the rgb led´s at the same plase as the normal led´s are or what be caus i´m going to put it in my self :P

  • Neat. The prices arent too bad to have that done. Just the 20+ days without my G15 that will suck.

  • how do you do that?

  • the multi-channel RGB-controller???

  • The RGB controller is developed in a project and not sold alone, only together with the G15 MOD (see the web site)

  • can you tell me the name of that one you are using????

  • could you help me about where to find those leds and install em also?

  • hey i´m thinking i´m getting the led´s and that will come but i need the software to make this work do i need to buy some thing more like dmx512 controller ore not please answer i need answers

  • You need also a multi-channel RGB-controller. This one here is a special development, that is very small.

It can be configured to interface to a PC or to any DMX512 controller.

  • You mind giving out the applet ?

  • Well, you can't change the LED colours with the applet alone. You need to have it modded (with RGB LEDs, controller etc)

  • hi can you send to me all the things that i need to have to make this work.

    please

  • red/green/blue.

all 3 and you can have any colour you want by varying brightness of each led.

    nice one.

  • Does this works for the Logitech G15 V1 to?

  • Yes, it works with both versions

  • great idea because you could turn down all the keys you dont need for gaming

  • Hello . This looks so cool. I got also g15 keyboard its keys colour is red/orange can this change?(with a factory keyboard) Isnt this dangerous to destroy it?

  • means all the diode must be replace ...?

  • name of the song plssss?

  • can you send me the file to change the collors?

  • Comment removed

  • wow. some people are stupid. you think you can change the colors with the help of a file?

im pretty sure if they were rgb LED's logitech would make that into a pretty main feature.

  • Ha! Pro shit, I may get a spare G15 and get this done to it. I may be a little unsure, but it looks like some light is bleeding through your media keys, it's still beautiful though.

  • Thanks so much dude, beautiful !

  • WOOOOW

  • cool

  • have you got an list what i must buy and how i mod my g15?

  • It might be a bit complicated to mod it yourself, because you need a RGB controller with at least 45 channels to control each colour of each LED (not just 3 channels!).

The RGB MOD of Final1208 (see the web site) has everything built in inside the G15.

Software and applets (also THIS applet) is included.

  • how did u do that????

  • Very nice :)

  • now thats a mod ^^

  • I agree

  • THAT SO SOUNDS LIKE PORN MUSIC

  • where you bought or where I can get it, leds microprocessor with serial interface and software?¿¿?

  • The whole mod can be ordered on the web site ( g15-mod com )

  • could you make it all blue?

  • Sure! ALL colors can be set by software (and the MOD hardware, of course)

  • awesome!

  • hi

do you speak german too ? im from german and i want just change my key colors. i got it today and i dont want loose the warranty. you can asnwer me ofc in german and i dont understand the menü from the keyboard thx :)

  • Da die G15 geoeffnet und darin geloetet wird, ist die Logitech-Garantie weg :-(

  • Can i buy your G!%

  • Yes, you can buy a new modded G15 or let us mod your own G15.

Prices and ordering information on the website by end of the week ( g15-mod com )

  • hi

i checked ur site but where exactly is the "program" where i can change colors from keyboard ? or do i need open my keyboard and change something ? i hope its only with programs :P

  • well i downloaded the progamm dmx... i have realy no idea how to work with it

  • Yes, you need our MOD (LED's, controller etc) to change the colors.

Then you can use the DMX software, the included PC software ... or write your own app.

  • Wow. Just wow. Kinda makes you wonder why Logitech didn't make this standard on the refresh edition :-)

They could've learned a lot from the modding community which literally ripped the original G15 apart.

  • For all, who don't want the light effects and changing colors of this MOD but just want another color for the G15, there are (german) tutorials for replacing the original LED's with other ones (not multicolor RGB).

    G15 original:

    g15-applets de/g15-led-mod-tutoral-t3560.html

    G15 Refresh:

    g15-applets de/g15-refresh-led-umbau---fertig---t3766.html

  • do you have to swap out LEDs or can modded stock LEDs switch colors?

  • All LEDs must be replaced with RGB LEDs (= 3 LEDs in 1) and connected to a microcontroller. I know of LEDs that blink in different colors, but that's a bit boring.

  • yeah i wanna mod mine to be either RGB or just plain green. you know where i can find a tutorial? and about how much will it cost me?

  • If you just want to make it green (without light effects) I can send you a TUT. (In german only but with good pictures)

The original G15 is a bit tricky, but the G15 Refresh is simple.

  • Could you please send me a tutorial for the original G15 ? Thanx

  • nevermind, I have one.

  • hey man can u sent me the tut also can i by the tiny leds like the ones on it already

  • The website with more info about the software and hardware-interface along with some pics is at g15-mod com .

My 2nd video shows some of the features.

  • is there a place were u can download the mod.

but just a question is there any tampering with the wires in the keyboard lights its self ?

  • Yes, I think I will put my applets on the (coming) web site.

... but you will need the MOD to use them properly ...

The wiring is not too difficult, because the LED's are on a (small) circuit board

  • Do you have a webpage soon?

  • next week

  • my frend wants that

  • You did a manner a wonderful respect you do not work will be heard I wish successes and the thankings are to already the you

  • Ummmh..., Thank you (?)

  • I have 9 x SMD PLCC-4 RGB LED (Keys)

and 3 x SMD LED 0605 RGB (LCD)

... especially the 0605 parts are quite small (:-)

The LED's come together with the controller board from Final1208 that they make for the G15 (old and refresh)

  • can you post what controller and LEDs you used? I would like to know and im sure many others would too. Thanks!

  • that is a really nice mod! nice 1!

don't supposed you could forward me to more infomation about the controller used? or pherhaps the software/ applet?

is it a usb controller hooked up to 1 of the usb port on the back of the keyboard internally?

will be modding my 1 of my G15s with this kind of thing!(i have the old and new 1).

    thanks.

  • The controller is inside the G15 and connected via RS232 (you may use a 5$ USB-RS232 converter for the G15 USB ports also)

The software to control the LED's is quite simple (i.e. send a 3-byte header and 36 bytes for the 36 LED's).

I wrote a Visual Basic app and modified an applet (C-sample of the SDK that comes with the G15) for the display output.

There will be a web page with more information, soon.

  • Ahh i see so its a controller which you program through a serial port. that makes more sense to me now as i have did my gcse electronics project using this sort of thing.

so what is the name of the controller, iv hunted around and i cant find a name! thanks for the reply.

  • how do u make the led change color like that can u tell me how as dose it involve taking apart my G15 ????

  • You have to replace the LED's with colored (RGB) ones.

Then you need a LED controller to set the brightness of each light to mix the right colors.

    I use the 36-channel controller of Final1208

  • how dp u make the led change color like that can u tell me how as dose it involve taking apart my G15 ????
