  • World War Web

  • now where did the great industrial power of Germany go? if only...

  • @Hippophilee

but you must also remember that the nation of Germany and it's government should not be the only one to blame for starting WWI. The rest of Europe was re-arming and increasing production in order to get the better edge against their fellow/opposer nation in the Eu. Ironically, in doing so, they only ignited suspicions and sparked the flame for WWI. :/

  • @EliasCalabretta1 Germany was the main reason for war. Not so much the German people, but the Kaiser & the generals. War with France was always going to happen- but the Kaiser ensured it would be a global war by threatening British naval supremacy, and by alienating Russia.

  • what's the march at 3:37?

  • Great videos, thanks for uploading. What is the name of this series and who produced it?

  • Thanks for uploading these WWI videos, I am in WWI history class now and seeing footage helps me learn it. :D

  • Wonderful production. What is the name of it so that I may purchase it on video?

  • god, I just hate that swaggering, vain-glory kaiser!

  • @mengutimur

  • these wars were engineered for economic reasons by very wealthy bankers and leaders of industry, it was totally un neccessary and it was poor people that suffered, the rich got much richer.

  • yoooo mute this and put on the song where is the love? by the black eyed peas... omg works perfectly....

  • A united German people under a charasmatic leader is a very dangerous thing, modern history makes it much easier to blur the lines between good and evil in WW1 as compared to the second world war. It is indeed easier to blame the Nazi's in WW2 as they were a political ideal then blame the Germans as a people as was the case in the great war. Even now nations worry about German economic power and the decline of the UK and the US. One mad leader could potentially turn the Germans to their old ways

  • @timewarlord That is just a load of bullshit!!!!

  • @perarnebulldog No it's not actually, it is historical fact, Kaiser Wilhelm was a power mad dictator who had absolutely no regard for the chaos and destruction he would reign upon the globe in his jealous search for power. He was green with envy over the mighty British Empire and the beauty if civilized France, like a spoiled brat he militarized his nation fully knowing the consequence of this would be war. Germany was only unified as a country in 1871, the Kaiser wanted power at all costs.

  • @timewarlord Yes but if you actually took the time to understand the modern German people they despise Hitler and want only to move on from that past. They also despise the old that supported Hitler and the only nationalists in Germany anymore are inbred white trash.

  • @timewarlord Your logic is beyond flawed.

  • @UltraHumaKnight Thank you so much

  • @timewarlord bias much? Whilem was by no means a saint but neither were the British, and Germany was just kind of dragged into the war.

  • @vikingcrest12 Germany was looking for a fight. Even Otto von Bismark predicted it.

  • @vikingcrest12 Germany was certainly "dragged into the war" by its top brass – not so much by its emperor or its people. The German constitution let the military establishment hold a decision power which was unthinkable in parliamentary democracies like France and Britain. German generals considered in July 1914 that, given the balance of forces, it should be "now or never". Thus Germany invaded neutral countries, and declared war against Russia and France.

  • @timewarlord I believe that today, the atomic bombs prevent war and keep the peace. Kind regards.

  • To be honest, all was no "unquestioned" by the start of WWI. Europe had already seen the birth of Communism, the French Revolution, Darwinism, several major revolts (especially 1848), and several major shake-ups in power since the 1790s.

Not to mention Freud, Marx, Engels, and dozens of other figures who were in opposition to the social order at the time.

  • @Nonamearisto Not to mention the falls of Greece and Rome, the fall of Constantinople, the rising power of Russia, the year 1905, the scientific revolutions of the early 20th/late 19th century, and the car.

  • One in every twelve people are armed with some sort of firearm the real question is "how do we arm the eleven other for the next world war?"

  • can anyone tell me whats the actual name of this documentury and whos narriting this i would like to get this on dvd

  • @leboharold The documentary is called: "The Great War", with main narrator Sir Michael Redgrave.

  • Where can you get the music that they played in that era?

  • World War I was a big, giant mistake : [

  • @NewYorkFlavour

A war that not only claimed millions in many atrocious ways, but a war whose end started us on the path to a far bloodier war. =[

  • I've been trying to find an excellent WW1 documentary, thanks!

  • im watching this too, i like the great wars, actually thinking of causing another one, already got me 600,000 people, all equipped with 2 punds of nuclear bombs, all over the world

  • @nerdy5746 i actually am planning to spark the next world war, and when obama gets his "no nuke"plan done its gonna be damn easy.

    THE WORLD WILL BURN

  • @SuperMachinegunner too bad, as if you didnt read my comment, i am already gonna do that. i dont want the world to burn, fire is gay, i wanna stop the humans from destroying our planet, that is, we are not human, at least you are, and being human, you are powerless, and have no position or authority of bringing the world piece we, me and others, desire

  • @nerdy5746 dude, i was kidding, who do you think you are ? some kind of god ?

  • @SuperMachinegunner i dont think im a god, a single being cannot be a god. that is, not alone. and i am not kidding. though i lied on the nuclear part, yeah right, we are not going to use man made weapons.
