When you work a role well, you have it for life. It sits in the voice and you can count on it. She worked this and performed it in Vienna-and we can enjoy the benefit of all that experience.
I have always loved her in these sobrette roles. She has the technique to play with the voice to make it seem like she is just having the most fun singing. Her Zerbinetta is equally as wonderful.
