@ad1492 No. If the dog has been vaccinated. It can't caught rabias, so if it bites someone they cant be infected, since there is no rabias to be infected with
Rabies is perhaps the closest thing to zombification, if there ever was such a thing. It is the most terrifying kind of death, both for the victim and just as devastating for the victim's family and loved ones who witness the whole process..
Its the most heart-wrenching, nightmarish end. God save us all..
I wish he wouldn't say, "nearly always fatal", there have been 2 survivors in human history, one who survived without brain damage and one who survived with severe brain damage.
@nextalexklein But you did say it´s not the government´s right to tell people to vaccinate. But they do have the right to take away someone´s dog . Wouldn´t it be wiser to make a law telling people they HAVE to vaccinate?
without testing, it is difficult to know. My father had to undergo rabies shots back in 1917-18. Took two weeks, a shot a day back then strapped in a barbers chair. Then the shots were given in the stomach muscles. He was a toddler and the dog and come into the front yard and bit him. The dog exhibited all the classic signs- foaming, aggression. He hated getting his hair cut the rest of his life and always had it quickly close shaven, then just let it grow out.
my cat was sick i dint know it till he didnt wanna eat or drink n got skinny i touched it it didnt bite me i had spent all night with it it layed by me n meowed it has white foam n died
@chitownpunx2007 Your cat might have also had distemper, the symptoms of that are somewhat similar to rabies. But you can get rabies without being bitten, like if the saliva gets into an eye or mouth (mucous membranes), or if you already have a break in the skin & saliva gets into it, although transmission this way is rare. You never had your cat inocculated against rabies? You should have had the cat's body tested after it died. It's not something to second-guess!
i was bitten by a wild baby mouse my sister had caught 3 in a jar and i took one out with a handhercheif, it drew blood, my mom and family had to monitor me for any rabid symptoms for 14 days, i washed the bite with antibacterial soap and water after sqeezing the site to let it bleed out and after 14 days i was okay but i'm alittle wiser to handling pest animals now..
@DomSubmissiveKitty There has never been a documented case in the US of a mouse transmitting rabies to a human. Cats, dogs, skunks, groundhogs, bats and racoons are the ones you should be worrying about.
@MynameisElliott if caught early enough (atleast with humans) there IS a treatment that CAN treat/cure it. However this must be somewhere in, I think, the first 24 or 48 hours. Spreading this bite = death bit is a fantastic way to encourage suicide or irrational behavior. Any animal bite should immediately be seen by a doctor and if it you fear it had rabies TELL the doctor, shots, no matter how numerous, are less painful than rabid death.
@MynameisElliott thats not true, you can survive rabies. my father had a patient with rabies and he helped save her life. they put you in a chemically induced coma, the treatment is called milwaukee protocol i think.
@7mikethebike Would you rather him say you will die a slow excruciating death instead? a euphemism to soften the tone but still convey the seriousness was fitting.
When i was a kid my neighbor had a zombie dog( rabies dog) it was chasing me one day and i kicked it hard as i can to its head was that animal abuse lol?
I love how calmly he says " shortly thereafter you're going to go into coma, paralysis and death", with that light Muzak playing in the background. Freakin' creeeepy...

@noobhealz402 Yeah if you have been vaccinated you are fine, you can also catch it within the first week or so before the virus can reach your nerves. That can be a short amount of time. If you dont have the vaccine, as this man says as soon as you start to feel symptoms your dead.
@noobhealz402 If you get them as soon as possible it is fine. There only 2 or 3 now and just in the arm than they were in the past. Its when you delay or not get vaccinated at all that's dangerous.

I had them for 1month now and they are little bit trained by me and they come to me every time when i whistle. Do u think i might get rabies i am nervous
@Twixy098@Twixy098 I doubt it, if you`ve had them for a month then they`re most likely fine, rabid animals will not look normal after that long. Plus, if they`re displaying signs of being trained, then they`re mind is progressing, and not breaking down as it would if they had rabies. So no, you almost definitely do not have rabies.
Btw, don`t turn in the cats and especially don`t tell anything about rabies. They`ll be euthanized and decapitated.
@Twixy098 I don't want to worry you but should see your doctor soon. A bite on the hand means the virus's journey to the brain is shorter than if you were bitten on the leg by the cat. Mind you if the feral cat hasn't showed any of the symptoms of the disease in 14 days you then your alright. Try and quarantine the animal, by locking it up in secure area, if you can for those 2 weeks.
People who own pets must not be serious about keeping them healthy if they can't do one of the most important and kindest things by giving them their vaccinations, including Rabies vaccine! It's one of the most basic and easiest thing to do!
@smoothers13...So where are you from?! I am guessing it is the US. I feel I should point out, that the US has a MUCH higher rate of rabies than in the UK!!! In 2001, 7,437 cases of rabies were reported in the United States. Raccoons accounted for almost 40 percent of reported cases among animals.
@smoothers13 Human rabies is extremely rare in the UK. The last case of classical rabies acquired in this country was more than a century ago, in 1902. Cases occurring since then have all been acquired abroad, usually through dog bites. In 2002 a man who was a licensed bat handler died in Scotland from infection with European Bat Lyssavirus 2, a rabies-like virus.
@smoothers13.... This does not alter the status of the UK as rabies-free. On rare occasions someone who is incubating rabies arrives in this country and then falls ill with the disease.
Perhaps a little knowledge would help you before making sweeping statements you ignorant idiot!
thank god, i though my cat got rabies, because it stopped eating, and it was really sick and just was sleeping all the time, but he starts to walk again, and he eats again.
@ momo, Yes rabies is one of the most contagious diseases around. If a patient has it, hospital staff have to wear gowns, gloves, AND goggles! If the patient coughs into your face if it is unprotected, you could become infected yourself. Years ago a man contracted rabies from a cornea transplant and died!
meanwhile... while i was forcibly watching that ad, the rabid animal outside my home that i was trying to confirm if rabid, or not, consumed another helpless child

People who own pets must not be serious about keeping them healthy if they can't do one of the most important and kindest things by giving them their vaccinations, including Rabies vaccine! It's one of the most basic and easiest thing to do!

0:34 "First signs of rabies which are very vague" flu like? normal. A couple of days? Not uncommon. Hallucination? Nor.....wait, what?
I'd take hallucinations as a good reason to see a doctor.

@smoothers13...So where are you from?! I am guessing it is the US. I feel I should point out, that the US has a MUCH higher rate of rabies than in the UK!!! In 2001, 7,437 cases of rabies were reported in the United States. Raccoons accounted for almost 40 percent of reported cases among animals.
minuslinus71 4 months ago
@smoothers13 Human rabies is extremely rare in the UK. The last case of classical rabies acquired in this country was more than a century ago, in 1902. Cases occurring since then have all been acquired abroad, usually through dog bites. In 2002 a man who was a licensed bat handler died in Scotland from infection with European Bat Lyssavirus 2, a rabies-like virus.
minuslinus71 4 months ago
@smoothers13.... This does not alter the status of the UK as rabies-free. On rare occasions someone who is incubating rabies arrives in this country and then falls ill with the disease.
Perhaps a little knowledge would help you before making sweeping statements you ignorant idiot!

@smoothers13 oh.. and incidentally... it is 'you're' NOT 'your' when used in the context you did on your post!!

It is possible to survive rabies. You get put in a coma until the rabies is gone, then get woken up.
lornt78 4 months ago
@lornt78 lol um no, you have to get a vaccine immediately after exposure . if its too late then its too late
