lol I do that because there are people out there who want to see the box itself along with the text and images on it. This part is purely for those who are interested. For those who aren't, they are welcome to fast forward to 3:37.
It uses the Model 1 Genesis or Model 2 Sega CD AC adapter (the one with the black tip). Remember to ONLY use OFFICIAL Sega AC adapters as 3rd party ones can blow the internal fuse.
I'm sure there are some 3rd party adapters out there that work just fine. I've just read many stories about them blowing fuses in Sega CDs that I usually try to recommend official Sega adapters to eliminate any potential issues. Model 1s are especially fussy units in comparison to Model 2s. If a 3rd party adapter works for you then great!
@SiLeNtShAdOw7777 No that's a great thing, some do work but you just gotta really make sure that the power output matches the input on the device. I was REALLY scared to plug it into my genesis because that was my first console ever and the first system I ever played. it still works fantastic and I don't want it to croak haha.
Hey, I finally did it! I got a Model 1 Sega CD!! But I have a question. Where does that plate at 6:35 go? I think it might have been included with mine.
It fits into the bottom vent farthest from the expansion port basically continuing the larger metal plate to cover the entire underside of the Genesis.
Thanks! Got the plates in place, but the power adapter that was included was one of those third party adapters and didn't work. I'm not able to test it out properly until I can get a real Sega Power adapter, though.
Yea, make sure you get the official Sega adapter. Some of those 3rd party power adapters could potentially blow the internal fuse causing more problems.
and as he is opening the box... A CRAP!!!! I RIPPED IT!!!

Geeez it took you like 10 freakin minutes to open the box.
No one wants to here about whats written on the box, we just want to see it open.
lol!

I dunno about that, I got some third party one that was made for the 1st genesis and it works my model 2 CD fine. Haven't had a issue. :\
