@PROGAM4R GTA has a pattern of never improving and remaining the same (save for a few details), the story is boring and repetetive, the characters are assholes, and there is little to no customization. Plus, your guy never improves. I just listed all the qualities the game should have (albeit I named with them what GTA fails at, still) and the games I listed are not. Skyrim may not have an involving story or very interesting characters but it's good w/all else. Tomb Raider has a great story too.
@PROGAM4R Saints Row the Third is by FAR better than all games since everything is customizable, the plot is good the gameplay is fun and the free-play is awesome. Uncharted has a great story but too many gunfights that get boring after a while, totally taking me out of the game.

Maybe reason why she's not so strong or fearless is it's story from beginning of Lara, isn't it? In any case it's more realistic than any similar game. I played Uncharted 3. Fantastic game but when Nathan jump from roof (10 meters) on enemy's head and after that he's immediately ready for another action I must say: Oh, man. It must hurt. But Drake is probably from steel. As well in scene from Tomb Raider's trailer where you can see how sea washed up Lara and she's hurt. Compare with Uncharted.
Since I was a kid I was a huge fan of Tomb Raider series. The reson why I used to admire Lara, is because she was not only beautiful, smart, intelligent, but also, fearless, strong and she could perform stunts like a professional gymnast... yes....she was.. Cause what I see here, is a little girl next door, who is scared of everything around her, desperately trying to escape the island, her physique is rather "high school" than what she used to be in previous games... I miss old Lara and old TR
What I'm really upset about is how every single time she takes a small hit, she squeals and screams like a baby. EVERY SINGLE TIME! It's Almost laughable! The acting and the graphics are fun, but come on... If a person is barreling down a chute, that fast, and they're scared... after a while they're gonna save their screams for the BIG pains and focus through or even ignore the smaller ones! First adventure or not!
No disrepect meant... but even though this is a 'Reboot' I don't understand why they didn't just market this as an entirely new character? She bears little to no resemblance whatsoever to any of Lara Crofts past representations! And I mean in her voice, her mannerisms, and especially her appearance. (Talking only about the face here.) The chest and even the hair I can accept those 'changes' fine.

People whining that Tomb Raider came before Uncharted, need to remember, Tomb Raider was essentially a 3D version of Prince of Persia (1989) Uncharted made a stale genre fresh again. Not all that impressed with the footage shown here. Water looks kinda' so-so, and the lighting is functional, but nothing awe inspiring. Uncharted has nice visuals and game play, but dire B movie story lines and voice acting. Maybe this Tomb Raider reboot can strike a good balance of good game play AND story line.

I hate how they sometimes spoil a game by making it to easy, like these highlighting things that help you getting past certain obsticales. Tomb raider has always been about solving the puzzels for yourself, with the least amount of clues possible. I hope this won't spoil tomb raider...

Why is everyone comparing Tomb Raider to Uncharted? I'm pretty sure TR was created 11 years before Uncharted was even thought about.

no cross platform game will ever be able to look anywhere near as good as uncharted so whats the point of saying that they r copying it
sure it is similar because it feels much more cinematic but look at the textures and the water effects
without blu ray, xbox games will nvr be able to pull of the amazing realism seen in uncharted

In my opinion,
Lara is way older than 21 years old. You & I both know that. Why pretend to make her younger when in fact, she's getting older. I wish people would stick to the original or the classic. Didn't those versions sell? Unlike what developers are doing nowadays. This looks like something you would see at the movies, not play. I'm not buying it.

I hate how they sometimes spoil a game by making it to easy, like these highlighting things that help you getting past certain obsticales. Tomb raider has always been about solving the puzzels for yourself, with the least amount of clues possible. I hope this won't spoil tomb raider...

@toybirdy sure, even though the developer has already said that the reboot has inspiration from uncharted and of course uncharted has some inspiration from Tomb Raider but still it's heaviest influence is indiana jones. uncharted 3 is the best game I've played in a while but this game looks sick too.

Wow. Some of the most intense graphics and immersing gameplay i've seen!. it really sucks that i definately won't buy this game.. lol. I just don't enjoy playing games as a female character. Looks great =) though i have 2 admit that the voice overs wernt the best they could have been. But maybe they'll fix it before the 2012 november release. Remember how much they fixed portal 2 after e3? im sure the game will see much change over the vext year of development =)
