all these arguments over what "holy" means or who decides... lets just assume that we are ALL holy...all things great and small... when we treat everything as if it were Holy... then we understand that life is a gift from somewhere unfathomable... from a source so great that no one knows... its where we all come from... we are all holy... any Holy person will tell you the same. ;)
That which is "Holy" is based on "Faith" and personal paradigm, "Faith" leads us to beleve an individual, action, or phrase is "Holy", and not just 'Good'. There should be no conflict between the Faithful and the Atheist, the Faithful are required to be compassionatel, and the Atheist should be patient with the faithful and "their invisible friends". In the end, we will all die, at which time we will either learn the truth, or not care. Faithfully Yours, a great grandchild of the Choctaw
@spareaxe Everyone in this song was a leader in their religions. Jesus Christ of course is supposed to be the son of God so that would be kind of Holy.
@WandaBukowski I think you missed the point......it's not the greater good they do, I just don't believe any one on this earth is HOLY...that's a religious word that can cause hard feelings between atheist's and Christians.
@spareaxe "Holy", "faith", "religious", "atheist"... these are just words, labels, meaningless sounds to which we humans ascribe meaning to.
If someone is "feeling" something, that is the individual's responsibility since the feelings belong to the person feeling them, and those feelings are caused by the meanings ascribed by the person themselves...
@Tainowoman Wrong......they have religion, faith, and holy running through their veins and make ridiculous claims of a god(s). They act on those ideals and pay for it later. FEELINGS......???
My good friend and 'uncle',and friend of my family, Floyd 'Red Crow' Westerman (August 17, 1936 – December 13, 2007)who I had the pleasure of playing with, twice, in Kahnawake during Oka, and in 2002 at Evergreen State College, Washington State...
@andymason49 - You are very lucky. I've learned so much from Red Crow. Native American culture is so signifcant and powerful. I have learned so much by reading, visitiing, and researching about Native American culture, not only about the culture and people, but also myself, and how to I can best live my life.We are all brothers. RIP

I like the song about great people but, they're not HOLY anything just brave enough to do something about the times they lived in. Too bad.

@spareaxe Any person who sacrifices his life for the greater good of his fellow man is holy.
