In '97 A U.S. defense intelligence report concludes that "Cuba does not pose a significant military threat to the U.S. or to other countries in the region." Why keep up the embargo? The U.S have been ordered by the U.N to end the embargo but they refuse.
Carrying on about Fidel, The Latin School of Medicine is free for all foreigners who swear to take these skills back to there own countries, and put them to use in low income areas. The education of all civilians is free, a system never seen in Cuba. By education I mean from infancy, to the age they legally graduate.
So technically Fidel has killed allot less than many U.S presidents, and lifted his country to higher levels than that under Batista.
My point is those who read this book expecting a complete portrait of Guevara didn't get one. It ignores the fact that Che executed his own men when they raped a farmer's daughter. It ignores the fact that he was the first to push through the land reform bill. The fact that Cuba today has a lower infancy death rate than many american states. It has the highest literacy rate than any other latin american country, free health care, free high level education.

My point is those who read this book expecting a complete portrait of Guevara didn't get one. It ignores the fact that Che executed his own men when they raped a farmer's daughter. It ignores the fact that he was the first to push through the land reform bill. The fact that Cuba today has a lower infancy death rate than many american states. It has the highest literacy rate than any other latin american country, free health care, free high level education.
