That's not true. When artists get famous, they start producing shitty mainstream music, and it all goes downhill.

@redecember That's not true either, it's NOT once they get famous they start producing shitty mainstream music, it's when they sign with a mainstream label that forces them to do what they think will "benefit" the artist the most(make the most money) Not all artist need to sign with a mainstream label if they have a large loyal fan base, and they can sign with a smaller label and still make the music they wish too.

MOST artist start with smaller labels start getting famous then switch to larger labels that can invest more into the artist because THE artist chooses that they would rather make more money and not be truly about the music. Anyways its mainly "hip hop/rap" artist that will have to change their music for their label. Most people that listen to indie/rock listen to it because its meaningful.
