  • i can honestly say after over 100 tattoos ive seen little to NO blood!

  • ya'll talk like the human skin is like steel or something lol....it doesn't matter if the machine ''BOGS'' down or how low ur voltage is...when a needle that small is stickin out the tube tip that far your going to cause truama...i don't care how proffessional someone is. facts are facts..... good luck with the healin process

  • @Littleman1757 yeah I'm sure his machine is meant to have a constant sound, but he goes in way too hard and deep and the machine sounds like its going to stop, I'm no pro but still think hes teaching people wrong

  • This cat does some great work. Check out his black and gray Clint Eastwood on google images

  • hes moving fast because thats a cutback liner.you dont sit on a cutback liner, you can hear how fast that machine runs.I wouldnt go that deep, but hes a processional, I am not. However that looks dermal to subdermal deep. I like the tip and like the fine line of the tip.I also would despite the speed of that machine, move at a consistant speed throughout my lines. Again I am not a professional. I like the product of what I do, he likes the product of what he does......

  • @fasdeath1 his machine is not running faster its hitting the skin harder..thats what the numbers mean on the power supply. also its higher because its a back tattoo and its hard to put the power on low and do the back, unlike arms where it is set between 5 to 6..

  • i checked out his site and the guy is a good tat artist.....its good guys like this offer their skills and techniques for others to watch.....in the end i believe we all develop our own styles and preferences....i know i have...as for the BS about the machine relaxing in skin the needle depth you see in the air IS the same as the skin!..it has to be!..the armature bar is still hitting the coils when magnetised and therefore the needle will still be travelling the same depth and stroke!..

  • he aint going deep if anybody said that, the artist has to judge person to person how thick the first layer of skin is...so obviously hes the pro and has decided thats how deep he needs to go. we are all just trying to learn. hes doin it right...

  • all this talk about how he is a shit artist makes no sense at all,If you were half as good as he is,you`d be making tattoo videos instead of watching them.Tatting is just like playing the guitar,90 percent technique,Ten percent creativity. Everyone does things differently,Unless its something unhygeinic for a customer,Just take the knowledge he offers and STFU.

  • dam looks like he hurting lol.

  • anybody have any tips for me on lines

  • I think a real tattoo artist would listen to the machine in this vid and understand what is happening. When he goes deep the sound changes, it becomes softer, this is because the arm bar is no longer hitting the coils hard, its going halfway or as attilamacan accurately puts it 'relaxes', if you have actually done tattoos and studied the machine as the sounds change you would realize it immediately. It was something that used to mystify me when I first started.

  • A good tattoo" ARTIST" Like U.K.`s Lal Hardy would probably the the job in half the time and double the quality! There is a huge difference between a tattooist and a tattoo artist!Anyone can use tyransfers an artist can do without.

  • he is tattooing this poor guys muscles, not his skin. way too deep...but he seems like a nice guy.

  • ive done a few crapy tatts on my leg and all i can say is that fat cunt was doing multiple blow outs and pretty much going way too deep. peace out fellow scratchers!!!

  • HATERS! shut the fuck up the finished tat is sothin yall could only deam about doin

  • @chachi693 dude, get a dictionary or phonics. This fucking douchebag is horrible and you should have your hands removed if you tattoo on people and think this good.

  • @macabrebobp have you actually checked out his work, or even his name? its your opinion, and your entitled to it but quit with the keyboard warrior talk.

  • @macabrebobp your a moron he is a world renown artist, this guy is amazing have u looked at the final vid prlly not keep ur comments to yourself, ur a jealous lil bitch whos just hatin

  • just a bunch of wanna'bes talkin trash like any work of art is done in the first few strokes..please.

-its funny how people can't ever recognize this concept...

  • PS : I'm A pro ;)

  • OMG ! STOP Tattoo!OMG!U suck!

    31 shop in jersey

  • LOOKS LIKE HES FUCKING UP THE TATTOO REAL GOOD

  • @Letitmellow

Youre a pro? How is he fking it up?

  • @h8mejinx I know right ? If someone made a Youtube vid on taking a shit there would be people talking about how they did it wrong and how they do it right... lol

  • he makes it look as easy as pie

  • Tattoos are obviously going to look shit when they're not even half way done. Seriously, like you all are so fxcking perfect.

  • is it just me or is he running those needles deep as hell?

  • @jerrod1982

just a little, but the guys fucking brilliant so i wouldnt dissagree with his technique

he knows better than most of us

  • @h8mejinx final was product is fucking awesome was a great job he did thumbs up to you buddy

  • how a bout you all make a vid and put it on here well your are watching it for a reason well why dont you all make one and let each other watch it

  • kool

  • ive only been tattooing a year now an ive seen this tattoo finished an i no it will be yours before im producing anythin like it but i didnt notice he rides the tube isn't that a lazy way to tattoo. its not a style i wanna even try cause to me it seems like treating an i noticed more skin trauma is caused this way might just be the people who have done them. after all there is some shit shops in the uk lol.....

  • is he like dragging the needle thru the skin ?! D:

  • its not goin to deep hear how his machine bogs out its because hes set it low theres less tention on the springs there fore its not goin as deep as it looks

  • is the needled have to be sticking out that much????

  • Those lines, expert or no, are horrible.

  • the machine "relaxes" when the needle hits the skin, that means it doesn't punch in as deep as y'all think, the stroke is long when he runs it in "the air" again, when it hits the skin it doesn't go as deep, i work the machine in almost the same way, long stroke and low voltage, gives it a nicer feeling.. and this guy is a REALY good artist, just watch him work and enjoy it google his name and y'all understand who he is and what he has done as an artist, i learned alot of his videos

  • @AttilaMacan He just works too fast for my likings, I mean sure he MAY be good, but I like artist that sit back and take their time to create masterpieces. Ya he goes a little deep in this video, but he's on a tight clock im sure and hes trying to just get it done, and Im also sure if it was a slow night, he would take his time.

  • @RadOne83

i know what you mean with relaxing on a piece..

  • @RadOne83 He is a very god artist obviously, however, I have to say wether it is a slow night or not he should still take his time. This person may only be in his shop for a couple of hours but he will have this ink the rest of his life. If he doesn't have time to take his time schedule the ink for another day. It's easy enough to do yes?

  • Lovin' the hair, man!

  • if you critisize this guy, post a video response and show us all how its really done...until then shut your hating mouths

  • yeah way too deep!!

  • Why are you people criticizing this guy?!

His work is amazing and don't you see his techniques, jesus you guys could learn alot if you paid attention and stop bitching.

  • mayn that dude would of been crying by the end of this

  • @Benjy120 hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahah!!!!

  • it kinda starts to look like ground beef after a min

  • It's funny to see people trying to give advice to Shotsie Gorman. If you've been around tattooing for any length of time, you know who he is and what he does. The guy is a well respected, PROFESSIONAL tattooist. How many of the critics on here are lisenced tattooists? My guess... NONE.

  • I know all these how to vid posters are milking the add money with lots of short vids of cut up instructionals, but fucking make them longer than 2 minutes each...(that must be the limit for the add requirement otherwise i suppose we would all be watching 12 second clips...

  • If you have never studied tattoo history in America then it is no doubt that you have never heard of Shotsie Gorman, one of the premier tattoo artists. Its people like him, Lyle Tuttle, Don Ed Hardy, Jack Rudy, Brian Everett, Sailor Jerry and plenty others that laid the groundwork for tattooing as it is today!! They put in hellish hours doing tattoos, promoting tattooing and this was back when no one was getting inked!! Suck it up, cupcakes and pay homage!!

  • I know this easy to learn way to become a professional tattooist. I am showing you this because it will save you time and money.

    c274d0ros5sox-0ijs0fr733x8.hop.clickbank.netx <---- remove the x

It worked for me, although I am not professional yet, but I am definitely getting there.

  • what advise could you give me when filling in a tattoo or shadding?

  • Shotsie is a well respected artist, Need his credintials? Google him. He's been in the industry for a long time.

  • A beginer is bether than you! You cald your self a profesionall tattoo artist.

  • these videos simply show you someone getting a tattoo not how to give someone one with a professional machine nor how to line one

  • I'm kinda new at this too; started out doing pick and poke with india ink and now moved up to machines. It seems like the faster you move your machine, the finer it is...but you need to make sure you're deep enough to hold the ink. Also, I'm using Kuro Sumi inks. A bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. Colors are vivid as hell and real sharp. Just sharing my observations, not preaching cuz I don't consider myself a pro yet. Too green if ya know what I mean. Practice Practice Practice!

  • wow ok i dont know but people say work off the tip of the needle from the looks of it hes going little bit more then that, ???????????????????????????????????

  • So, I Have A Similar Problem. I Work Absolutely Fantastic With Black And White, But I Have Issues With Colour. It Always Ends Up Looking Beautiful, But When Its Healing Most Of The Colour Fades Or Disappears Completely. Ive Tries Resetting The Needle Depths, Speed Of The Motor, How Fast Im Moving My Hand, Everything. Can Someone PLEASE Help Me Out???

  • @UndisclosedDesires17 it could very well be the fact that your duty cycle is of you may be in the skin more than you shoukld be be like a 70/30 kinda thing when you should be a t a 50/50 or a 45/55

  • been doing it for a few months now, whenever im coloring in after a day or two it looks all smudged and it dosent look well defined, iv tried putting the needle in less and more, using vasaline with the ink, repeatidly going over it changing voltage diffrent needles, nothing seems to work, it only happens sometimes though, depending on which part of the body it is, diffrent needle depths for diffrent parts of the body mabie?

  • that,s why the only way to be a proper tattooist is .. work your ass of ,, draw ,draw , paint , learn about contrast ,scales , colours , composition !!! make good sketches , drawings, and if they are good enough ,, go to good shops ,,!! don,t give up !! apprentice is the only way to get the information that you need !! every body part and every style needs a different set up !! you only learn that by doing and having somebody next to you ,who can say why it isn,t working !! and correct you

  • wats a good standard size lineing needle for out lines. thats not too small an not to big

  • 5 liner... 7 liner...

  • @getlowboss, when im doing a tattoo loutline i like to work with a 5 round needle about 2mm (little thicker than a dime) out of the tube i usally run it at about 6.8-7.3 volts and duty of about 47 to 53% but everyone is diffrent and machines are diffrent, u need to find what works for u, these videos are a good help sometimes but every person, tattoo and machine are diffrent what works for one may not for another, i started like u but decided to apprentice and learned so much more that on here.

  • @Getlowboss it gets stuck when you go too deep...the needle only needs to go into the first 2 layers of skin..and skidmarks you are goin too fast

  • if you go too deep the ink spreads verry much and you get a black line with green shades

  • I noticed this dude, pushes the needle in rather deep alot, too deep is not good) its about having control. sometimes if the needle is getting stuck you might need to check for burrs, (if its been bent), or turn it around, its alos about what angle you holding it. you have to learn to move the machine around sometimes becos the needle flows better going certain directions. it also depend on your power, maybe turn it up a bit, could be your inks, some cheap arse stuff off the net doesn't cut it.

  • @Getlowboss Maybe you have the pack set too low?

  • @Getlowboss is the needle comin out far enough?

You might have the tube too far down for the needle to come out of it

  • ouch...lol

  • ok...their is no regular,,dept in tattoos...allways depence how u strech the skin...more u strech skin come thinner(on the streched place)also skin is different on the body ...so please forget about 1,2 3,4..millimeters..lol itz a feeling thing, mostly

  • @Getlowboss in to your skin? prolly you feel too much pain and you don't go deep enough.....it just an option.

  • all yall talkin badd about it but this is how it works

  • That line work is fucking terrible!!!! That guy is lucky the piece is on his back and he won't have to see it.

  • oh yes finally, i totally agree with u , this guy is a dinosaur , its like hes just roughly sketching it out and doesnt give a shit,

  • the more time u spend jugeing n saying bad things bout other ppls art the worse u r a real artis like half of u say if ur so great u wouldnt go on utube n look at others ppl art n bitch but wat do i kno am only a scracther lol ha

  • im sure he has been tattooing awhile but his needle seems to be going in deep. his lines will look blown out when it heals so the finished product that you see now will differ from when the skin actually heals. hes an old school artist with old school ways.

  • you get better lines on a fucking etch a sketch

  • shotsie is a great artist and is known world wide by professional artists young and old and if you don't know this you should get your self some tattoo mags from the 80's and early 90's which shotsie has been in many. truly a master and if you don't know of him your no artist and if you are an artist ,you don't even know the roots of the business your in ,you don't even know shit about those artist that bazed the trail so you could work in this industry. THANK SHOTSIE

  • horrible!!!! lines are'nt consistant ... too much throw and if you know how to tattoo with a long throw on the needle you dont dig it in like he is .. hence inconsistant lines .... anyone tries to say he did good probably isnt an artist... but what do i know ive only been tattooing 12 years as a pro and licensed....

  • wait a minute you dont know shotsie your saying hes a bad tattoo artist?

  • hes a dinosaur , and should be still tattooing drunk sailors who couldnt give a shit ,

  • haha dude this guy is shit.. Dinosaur is right and drunk sailors are probably the only people who would dig his stuff.. Its whack!!!!!!!!!!

  • the only thing i noticed right away was how far his needle sticks out of the tip of the gun....i guess it doesnt matter if u r used to tattoo at the right deepness, but if u r not used to to handle a tattoo gun, i suggest u only let the needle stick out more or less as the thickness of a quarter...

  • tis better to call your own mother a whore than it is to call the sacred tattoo machine a gun ,a tattoo machine is to creat art and a gun is for killing.

  • its not a gun !!! and needle depth is only part of it.. Sounds like scratcher talk.

  • good stuff and his technique looks brutal

  • he's doing fine detail lines, like details on the barks of the tree. not shading.

  • Their just people who've got tattoos who think they know what their on about.

  • I agree with you

  • is he shading with a liner? what a dipshit, those are the most sketchy lines i've ever seen

  • have a look at the finished product and then talk

  • Damn, can you say RIP???? He just ripped the hell outta that guys skin!!! You don't do that shit!! Never pull on it like that. Damn, dude it's not your dick.

  • wtf is it supposed to be =/ ?

  • this is amazing to watch a true master

  • au!!!!

  • way to beep with the fine lines he is goin about 5 mill with that

  • you're line work is horrible

  • wow, dats kinda cooool!

  • holy shit.

he's going a lot deeper than what the guy did for my tattoo.

  • Yeah I was wondering why the tube was touching the skin... bleh...

  • I kinda like the sound of the tattoo machine :D

  • this needle too deep man, are you all blind or what, this guy needs some new fucken glasses, wtf

  • i dont think he relizes he ant doin it with the tip

  • hell, you can hear the machine bog down like crazy every time he buries it.

  • @pixelsurfer hahahahahhahhhhahahahahhah!!!!

  • i should remember 2 bring my ipod hen i get my 1st tattoo, the sound freaks me out

  • he seems really cool, doesn't seem like that hard of a tattoo to get, anyone got any tricks as to what is hould be thinking about while i get mine done? i just don't like the needle part of it

  • Don't look at the needle. I do my own tattoos, and a good portion of my body is covered in them. I find that when I'm getting a big tattoo, it kinda sucks to look at sometimes. Just be sure to eat something if your going to be sitting for a while. Oh, and if the tattoo artist is playing a crappy horror movie from the 70's or 80's, DON'T WATCH IT! I almost got sick watching Blood Suckers From Outer Space and some crazy zombie rat movie. GOod luck!

  • Already got it done 2 weeks ago! But that's great advice, even though, I was surprised that I found comfort in looking at the needle. And he played Black Label Society :D

  • Really cool! That's great to hear. Well, I like to look personally, but that's just general advice.

  • Hey! Whats wrong with Tokyo Gore Police?!?!?

  • What?

  • this guy was talking about tattoo shops having B flick horror movies from the 70's and 80's playing inside were to be avoided...

I was asking whats wrong with that....

  • Oh, forgot to reply to this...yeah, I knew what you were talking about. The movies were funny.....but I was getting a big tattoo..and I just didn't feel like watching a gross movie. Big ol nasty titty having rat grandma....NO THANKS :-D

  • thats why tattooos have been around for ages...

    fads come n go

    tattooos stay

  • man that looks DEEP

  • he was fast and nice work looked painfull though haha

  • when the swelling as gone down just about completely, should the tattoo surface skin feel smooth or should i feel the lines of the drawing, as if there is something on top of the skin.

  • Im a new artist. I practice on fruit, which comes out perfect and i practice on myself. Im having one problem. The ink isnt staying. Im doing everything as instructed and the ink doesnt stay. I usually have to go over and over the same lines to get it to stay but then the ink feels like its on top of the skin and not under. I tried slowing down, switching needles, turning up the power. The line is there and the swelling but when i wipe the area clean the ink is gone. Help plz???

  • you could have your needle hanging to far out you should only really have the tip out slightly

  • Thanks, I'll give that a try, that may be the case, cuz i usually let the tip of the needle out a little further to prevent too much ink comin out at once. I'll try bringing the tip back in a little.

  • everyones skin is different and it seems that if you have done all that to your skin and there is still no ink left behind in your line then your skin is probably rejecting the ink and may not be possible to get a descent tattoo. the other thng is MAKE SURE UR GUN IS AT A 45' ANGLE, this holds the needle down in the ink in your resevour. if you dont do this it is possible that your ink is jus spilling out and not staying on your needle when it penetrates

  • u dont want to angle ur MACHINE lol when u outline because of the higher chance of blow outs

  • not true.

  • very true...especially if u ride the needle like hes doing....if u ride the needle, angle ur machine and accidentally go too deep u WILL get a blow out

  • ive been tattooing for quite a few years now as in working in a shop but everybody has a different way of approaching it and my opinion is there not 1 perfect way to do outlines but many and i am learning something new everyday.... i think everybody should stay open minded... it helps you grow and evolve!!!!

  • professional my ass , that outline is fucking terrible. why don't you just shove that needle right in

  • OMG, outlines is verry bad.....so verry deep..

  • dont act like the man dont no what he is doing kids do your home work he is know all around the world in 100 of tattoo mags..i not hear to fight but if u dont tatt shut ir mouth and if u do well do ur home work kid

  • shit the fine lines are the worst fuckin part i almost didnt want to go back to get the color ahaha the color was just like, scraping the lines felt exactly like when u step on something sharp, and uh, wiggle it around over and over again

  • Comment removed

  • that look painfull man i will never get a tattoo

  • he doesn't go too deep, it's hard to see because of the black ink spurting and the shadows and low quality video, he's doing a good job stop whining

  • seriously that is deep as hell

  • yeah, that happened to me once and it hurt like a motherfucker.

  • For the love of god man, how many people think they are going to learn this trade from watching this video again and again. Stop all ready and learn from someone in the know.

  • It's great that you post videos showing how to tattoo. Can you post one that shows the needle going in the skin.

  • You guys are obviously not aware who Shotsie Gorman is. He has been tattooing for a very long time and definately knows what he is doing. He started with Spider Webb in the late '70's I think... Anyway, before you go criticising anything he is doing here, you should understand that this man deserves serious props. He is a lifer, and a talented tattooist. H has his machine set so he can move really fast. It's pretty rare to see someone moving that fast, kids.

  • ur right he moves very quick for an artist

  • when u master shading ur lines become less significent in a tattoo like this ofcourse in something like old english letters u need straight lines but in summit like this the shadding makes the peice not the lines!

  • k weard if i do my lines from right to left with right hand there fuckt up so i need to do it from left to right, i see he's lines are not so good same mistake ? treu?

  • what kind of needle is that? is that only one needle or is that 2 oe 3 needles to outline? please tell me

  • holy crapp?!

that guy looks like he had a really heavy hand! and he had way too much hang on the needle

  • man. all i got is needles for outline. need different needle's for practice. shading and such.

  • get 5 rounds u can use them 4 lining and shading

  • thats a sweet ass machine. nice and smooth

  • i have a couple of questions? 1st how much did your tattoo gun/machine cost? 2nd how much does a good quality tattoo gun/machine cost? and is it a good idea to buy one from ebay?

  • Whatever your day job is please do not quit. If you should have a machine... you would have all ready known where to get one from the person teaching you.

  • the confusing part is how you go put the needle all the way in his skin ... then on other spots you only go half way in the skin...?? is that to make spots darker and spots lighter???

  • dosents that hurt the guy dosent even move.i bet hes tough

  • its a small needle, tattoos never hurt me at all... only on the head or bone areas

  • Ouch

  • gotta hurt ohh

  • Tattooing runs in my family,

I'm pretty pumped for when I come of proper age.
