  • @wally5859

    Hi!!

The song is called "Ragga Ragga" and it is performed by the group "Red Plastic Bag".

  • @wally5859

You can find the song on "SOCA 101" Release Date: 2002, Label: VP

Hope this helps and, thanks for watching my video.

  • I went to Melia Las Duna in 09,looks as if I did the same trip to Santa Clara. You must have been pretty sneaky; I was asked to put my camera away in both the cigar factory and the Che monument. Guards were blowing whistles at me. My fault though; they told me that we weren't allowed to take pictures. Anyways. I was wondering what the name of the song that you have at 5:50 is. The band that played at the center court of the resort almost every night played this song. They were great! Cheers!

  • @gulllaker

    Hi!!

The name of the second song in my video at "5:50" is "GUANTANAMERA" performed by "Gullermo Portabales" it is perhaps the best known Cuban folklore song and, it is also the country's most noted patriotic song. There are other versions of this song performed by many other music artists.

    Thanks for watching my video!!

    Lisa

  • @gulllaker

All the pictures of the resort, beach and the catamaran excursion was taken in the year of 2008. However, the pictures that you see regarding the cigar factory in Camajuani, the Museum of Che Guevara "Museo Historico de la Revolucion",and the Monument of Che at the "Plaza de la revolucion Ernesto Che Guevara" were taken a few years prior to the trip I had taken in 2008.

  • @gulllaker

In other words at that time I was allowed to use my video and digital camera. The only place that I was not allowed to use my camera was at the Museum of Che Guevara. I guess that things have changed since then. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to take these pictures and add them to my video, especially now that you told me that photo's and video's are no longer permitted.

  • @gulllaker My goal in the video was not only to show that Cuba is a great hotspot, I also wanted to share with others some of the Cuban history. I hope that I suceeded!! :-)

    Cheerio!

P.S. Sorry that it took some time for me to answer your question, I happened to be gone on holidays.

  • very well done... thanks for sharing your pics with us

  • Thanks for the compliment and for watching my video!!! :-)

  • Spent a wk there July 9-16, 2010 - great place. At 2:51 in your video, is that an actual painting, or just a filter you have placed on the photo? If it is a painting, it is beautiful.

  • thanks great video :) going in 4 weeks cant wait!!

  • @boyguy909

Thanks for the compliment!! Have a great time on your vacation, and thanks for watching my video!!

  • LMAOOO LAST CALL!

  • i wanted to go to Che's memorial. never got to

  • I did enjoy the beach though, and the cleaning staff (They made my stay in Las Dunas less uncomfortable)...

I fell in love with Cuba thanks to Havana. It's so vibrant, so alive, the people, the cars, the "flea market", the atmosphere is awesome! The Tropicana Show brings glamour to the capital. These aspects of the city made my holiday. I wouldn't even mind to live there.Peace

  • To live in Cuba as a tourist yes but not if you are a cuban!

  • probably not but some cubans don't mind living there. they admire Fidel and his previous administration.

  • LOL you're a funny guy! You know which cubans don't mind living there the ones that work for Castro and their families those are the ones that are allowed to go visit any hotels go to any stores and buy whatever they need THE CUBAN PEOPLE ARE FORBIDDEN TO DO THAT. why do u think his sister, daughter and granddaughters left the island, cause they couldnt stand seeing their family abuse their own people. Castro has more control of cuba than Saddam did w Iraq,No freedom of speech, religion or pres

  • I can't speak for all of them and neither can you. Some of them do enjoy their country, they have free health care, free studying, etc.

Not saying i support his administration, but let's face the facts.

  • @nikitobu You are mistaken all Cubans are allowed in hotels shops etc . I have been to Cuba four times, the people are warm and friendly, not suffering the stresses of the capitalist system, Cuba must be one of the safest countries to visit.

  • @125darleystreet YOU'RE SO IGNORANT, THIS PAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST TIME IN 50 YRS THAT CASTRO HAS ALLOWED THE CUBAN PEOPLE TO ENTER OR STAYED IN ANY HOTELS PRIOR TO IT THEY WERE GETTING KICKED OUT OR ARRESTED LIKE ANIMALS, UNTIL 1996 ANY CUBANS CAUGHT WITH DOLLARS WERE PROSICUTED MIN. 2 YRS. THEY DONT HAVE THE STRESS OF "CAPITALISM" BUT THE SUICIDE RATE HAS GONE UP ENORMOUSLY CAUSE THERE IS NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH, RELIGION NOR PRESS

  • @125darleystreet THERE ARE NO JOBS, NO FOOD, YOU'LL GO TO JAIL IF U GET CAUGHT WITH RED MEAT OR A LOBSTER THATS FORBIDDEN ONLY FOR TOURIST, ALL THE GROCERIES STORES ARE MAINLY EMPTIES AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE DOLLARS TO BUY ANYTHING BUT THE CASTRO PAYS THEM W CUBAN MONEY SO WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, A DOCTOR MAKES LESS THEN 25 DOLLARS A MONTH AND A LITER OF MILK COST 5.00 DOLLARS, YOU CAN TRY TO SELL YOUR COMMUNIST OPINION TO YOUR OTHER STUPID BUDDIES WHERE EVER YOU FROM BUT

  • @125darleystreet TO ME CAUSE I WAS BORNED AND RAISED IN CUBA, AND YOU KNOW WHY THEY ARE WARM AND FRIENDLY BECAUSE THAT IS OUR CULTURE THERE AND EVERYWHERE WE GO. SO THERE GOES A LITTLE HISTORY FOR YOUR SORRY ASS.

  • I do think this Resort is overated. Dunno if it's the low season thing but i have so much to criticise this resort: food was always cold, waited hours to get a drink in lobby bar, the Oriental Restaurant was closed, the night shows were painful to watch, people stole towels in swimming pool, poor service in reception/internet area, the "disco" was full of lager-outs,etc...

  • @hotnsassy84 hahahaha shut up and stay at home

  • @justdance554 :) but really i enjoyed cuba very much. it's a shame about this resort though... have u been there

  • Your hubby is lucky!

  • hey awesome video!

ill post mine up too, but,

I have a question, what is the other song that they

used, like you do the macarena, but not exactly 100%????

  • The song which most of you are looking for is, "Ragga Ragga" from the musical group "Red Plastic Bag"

    Lisa

  • Where do you take "racka racka " song ? Im searching for title of this song and the name of the group, do you have it ??

  • Thanks for the pics, planning on going in late August 2009.

But your warning is making us scared (lots of walking). Why?

Nothing close by (beach, pools, rooms = bad layout)??

    Just wondering cause I have a 2yr. old , 7 and a 9 yr. old.

We went ot Mexico and hated waiting for the golf carts ...

    Thanks, COlin

  • There are alot of golf carts , and you can ring one from your room, and they come really quick, so its not that bad, its a brilliant hotel though. Great for kids

  • heyyy its Barbaros aka Jean Coutu..i loved that guy

he would walk around with his drink cart and every 5 minutes he would say "LAST CALL! 2 for 1! 20 minutes i close"

  • Hi laflamme66,

Please read the comments down below, as you will find your answer that you are looking for.

    Lisa :)

P.S. It is a catchy song isn't it??

  • Wow :} First, I would like to say your husband is a lucky man.

Thinking of spending our next vacation at MLD.

Now with this exceptional video of the resort and excursions that you show,, we will certainly book this resort.

    Thank-You for sharing.

  • You are very welcome!! :) Please keep in mind, that the food in not the same as it is in our country (CANADA). It means that they don't have the same variety of fruits, vegetables and meats that we are accustomed to. This is one of the biggest complaints when visiting Cuba, however, if this doesn't bother you, then you should have an exceptional time. Thanks for watching my video and, for the kind compliment.

    BON VOYAGE!!

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    Lisa

I went to the Sol this year and loved it..... PLEASE can you tell me where you got the Ragga Ragga song????????? Its a great memory of our holiday and i would love to get it.

    Thank you

    Ps; great video!

  • Hi there Beccaleam,

Here is a little info on the artist.

ARTIST: Red Plastic Bag (born Stedson Wiltshire)

Combining the sounds of reggae and soca, Red Plastic Bag became one of the most popular performers in his native Barbados, then all over the Caribbean.....

Therefore to answer your question, you can find this song on the album "SOCA 101" Release Date: 2002, Label: VP

Hope this helps and, thanks for watching my video.

    Lisa

  • very well done video. I enjoyed watching it.

we hope to go to this hotel at xmas time. Great song you chose to accompany your pics but it isnt really representative of cuban music.:)

  • Thanks for watching my video!! Your right about one of the songs. "RAGGA RAGGA" performed by the group "Red Plastic Bag" is one of the hotel's theme songs. However, the song "GUANTANAMERA" is perhaps the best known Cuban folklore song and, it is also the country's most noted patriotic song.

    Thanks again for watching!!

    Lisa

  • wow really nice video! I was in sol cayo santa maria and i think that this place is very cool... i hope your time at melia las dunas was really great.

  • Thanks for the compliment and, for watching my video!!! Your are right, most people who have chosen to vacation at the Cayo Santa Maria Island, have pretty much used the same positive adjectives as you have "cool" "fantastic" "fabulous" I am very glad that you had a GREAT time like I did. Maybe the next time I'll try the Royal Hideaway Ensenachos.

    Adios!
