I am so surprised that this video has not recieved the proper notification. This is one of the most important issues. I hink that we are looking at the entire situation environmentally in the wrong light. It may already e past due for human civilization to work towards conservation. We need to reverse the cycle and start helping the earth to get back to where it was. We should be coexisting with the Earth not just living from it. We have the technology let us use it.
Au contraire, we don't have the technology yet. So much of our fuel source is still fossil fuels and coal, it's ridiculous. First we must better develop our alternative fuel sources and then move ourselves away from the finite fuel sources. One of the best things about alternative fuel sources is in most cases, there's no (or very significantly reduced) pollution! But we aren't yet at a point where we can remove ourselves from oil and coal. I wish it weren't so, but we have to face the truth.
I am very sure we do, but, lets say we don't. If we do some R&D on a global scale within the confines of a specific area of research much more can be attained. (as shown by the human genome project). If we apply the same context to an issue like nanotechnology in solar cells we may be surprised!
