@werehog28 very very simple. but the unreal engine 3 costs some money so I recommend downloading UDK(unreal development kit) it's the same as unreal engine just free and missing a couple things. and no it's not a torrent or anything it's the real deal.
UDK isnt for modding... its basicly the learning edition of unreal engine 3 unless u buy a licence.. but its deff good stuff u can make the best content with blender and speed tree...

I couldn't tell you all the specifics, but they've really made vast improvements to the engine. If you're having trouble with anything visit the UDN, or the UDK forums.

Crysis has terrible modeling IMO. The characters in Crysis don't look real. Crysis is better in everything else, but UE3 uses better character models. I could even say UE3 water looks better, but that is a matter of opinion.
GoW2 Character models look amazing, I they are xbox graphics. Everybiody knows the 360 sucks. UE3, could do some crazy shit on the PC if developers would start using it right.

Actually the CryEngine 2.0 is alot more resource intensive and doesn't utilize multiple cores very well (in GPU's or CPU's), just because Crysis needs a lot more of a machine to run on, doesnt mean its better, in fact an Engine than can run well on lesser systems will be a better choice for 3rd party game developers. Oh and you forgot about the Havok engine and the ID software engine CoD4 uses. infact all the Crytek games are poorly programmed, that is why they building 3.0 from the ground up.
oh trust me the 360 can handle it, its just that most games on the 360 have really simple engines, the killzone engine was built for the ps3 specificly

It depends, if you want to have fast graphics with beautiful indoor scenes than the Unreal Engine has its merits. I always wondered what has happened to the art designers in Crysis, when I went indoors. Did they fall back to 2001?
It is certainly a fast engine for closed maps, but not so good for vast terrain maps like Crysis.

UT3 Engine does have better multicore optimization. Playing UT3 with DualCore or Quadcore, makes a difference, but not so much with CryEngine.
