This was awesome. Seeing and hearing LA on the year I was born, 110 miles east in the little desert town of Palm Springs...I read that back in the day the 110 freeway was called Route 11, I didn't know it still was as late as '79....amazing to hear Jim Ladd and Cynthia Fox. All of My Love from Zeppelin's "new" album! Tusk by Fleetwood Mac was new too! The billboard for BOC's "Mirror's" album! Gawd I swear I was born in the wrong decade...I so wish I was around during the LA rock n roll years.

Sadly the Metro Media building has been torn down and was replaced with helen bernstein high school which opened in 2008.

Jim Ladd is still on KLOS - He all Mr. Smooth and of course, younger. I wish I would of kept track of all my 7th Day with Uncle Joe shows from around '81, '82.

(I used to listen to KISS FM w/ Ric Dees). The downtown skyline looks so "bare" for this metropolitan area and the nite shot of the LA basin -- so flat and goes on forever and ever! Great photos of the cars of 1979, plus all the cool classic cars too :-) ABC TV ad "The Ropers"

I moved to LA are in Jun 1980... and I got a job @ Sunset Vine Tower, just down the street from Capitol bldg @ Vine n/o Hollywood Blvd.

I have Los Angeles radio 94.7 KMET METAL shop shows from 1984 where it all began that feature Y&T and a ton of other bands on them. E-bay - Search KMET Jim Ladd. I found a box full of tapes that I taped back in the day that I transfered to CD. Excellent quality. Check it out. Back in LA where it all started.
