  • You've said what I've wanted to say for years...Thank You, so I dont have too....

    :)

  • Nice done!! I wish more people around me could understand english better. this would be a nice way to explain myself:)

  • I feel the same way you do.

  • awesome vid and thanks for sharing!! I have AS and i relate really well to this video! it can be SO hard trying to explain to people how AS affects your life ><;;;

  • I swear this is almost the exact description of me yes I do have aspergus

  • I almost never cry and I bawled when I watched this. I have a 13-yr old son who clearly has Asperger's (we have always known) but we have not pursued an official diagnosis because we don't know whether it would help him or just make him feel more overburdened. He already goes to a special school for kids who are "gifted, dyslexic, or both," knows a lot of other kids like him, and is well-understood by teachers, etc. Should we leave well enough alone if he is happy in his own little world?

  • @Loudinidog

I was raised as gifted but weird, yet otherwise normal. I'm now 35 and mostly successful without an official diagnosis. Awareness of self, understanding the intolerance of others, and learning to distinguish between favorable and unfavorable social and physical environments is what has helped me more than anything. Intervention should always be a last resort, and knowledge should always be a first. Talk to the school administrators about your options.

  • Get him the help he needs...I have AS but have never been in any treatment for it and my childhood was hell...I have a son myself now with AS and we are getting him all the help he needs because I don't want him to have to live the same life I did.

  • @midnightlarson Thanks for your insight. I think my son is getting the same help with or without the diagnosis, because he goes to a special school that specializes in individualized learning and behavior mod. And he is surrounded by other kids like him, who are super bright but socially awkward, many of whom are clearly somewhere on the spectrum, so he doesn't feel like the odd man out and teasing is kept to a minimum. Since he has all this, would the label give him more?

  • Children with AS can go to regular schools and still learn just as well as any other child with the right treatment. He may seem fine right now but people with AS bottle up there problems an are very good at hiding them. They really don't like to talk about there problems they would rather just forget an let the pain build up till one day they explode. Some of the simplest things to you may be great stress on someone with AS if they don't get treatment. Hope this helps.

  • I think this video is so inspiring. Almost everything describes how i am. I think this is absolutely brilliant!!! Thank you for making it!!! :)

  • It seems mainly 42 in a half of those symptoms effects me while only 4 doesn't (or atleast not as much).

  • This video describes me like 95-97%! Thank you so much!

  • What do u think?

  • I did the aq and aspie quiz and my aq score is 40 and aspie score is 173 which is apparently very likely

  • The colors are killing me... no offence. I'm just really visually sensitive.

  • I would have liked this video had it not been for all the bright flashing colors. (another thing aspies can be sensitive to, by the way)

  • I genuinely believe that Asperger's and related syndromes can be greatly reduced even "cured" (I don't like using that word because theres nothing actually wrong with us). This doesn't need to be a life sentence. In my opinion: drugs only do harm, they just suppress your entire brain. Get into functional neurology, you will learn the differences between left and right brain and how you probably have right brain deficiencies which can be regained. Start by reading "disconnected kids" then expand

  • I have a classmates/best friend with Asperger, If any bullies happen in the community we always stand up for him. He is a senior in college. He is the only one in my classroom with Asperger.

  • This sounds like it could apply to anyone imo.

  • @TheKamikazeen anyone can have aspie traits, at varying levels - it's the level at which the traits affect us, as well as the number of traits, that separates us.

  • Thankyou for sharing this video....my oldest daughter got diagnosed when she was 8.....I feel like showing this to her new high school so they may get a better understanding of why she reacts to certain situations xx

  • I'm worried that shell just laugh and my brother will say I'm copying this char. In the end I can't take the anxiety so I need a diagnosis without them knowing. Any ideas?

  • I really think that I have aspergers and all of the evidence suggests I do but I'm scared to ask my mum about it as we have been watching the big bang theory and there's a char in there with aspergers and she may just think I'm copying him. Any advice? By the way are you dyslexic as you made a grammatical error at the end.

I really want to be able to tell her as its hard living with anxiety etc and what I believe is either severe OCD or the obsessive compulsions that come with aspergers.

  • @LavaFishStudios Don't be afraid, share anything with your mom! :) Let out every emotion you have in you, restraining it is not help at all, you'll feel better if you let it all out. No worries hun!

  • @weatherstorms

Problem with that for me, is I simply get grounded whenver I complain- I can't say anything. I guess I don't like my house as much as my school or Girl's Group.

Maybe I have reconizged the value of friends- but can't have them, making me mad. I WILL TRY IF I AM NOT EXPECTED TO BE PERFECT!

  • @LavaFishStudios have a word with it there is an on line test you can do,its called.

The aspie quiz.i have done that one..jeff..

  • @LavaFishStudios watch my video, see if you relate to any of that stuff, umm, it would be best to talk to your mum after all communication is key - just tell her how your feeling and ask that she take it seriously and not dismiss it as one of those 'phases' that teens go through

  • hey i have the disorder to Im now 17 !

  • I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome last year, when I was about to turn 21, In March 2011. I was talking to a family's friend (a psychiatrist) who suggested I could probably have it. So I secretly met him and after several sessions I was officially diagnosed with ASD. I felt a huge deal of relief, 'cos I realised I hadn't been bullied at school for being a freak. And I wasn't highly intelligent (yet childish) 'cos I was weird or a nerd, either. I was just different. Just special. An aspie.

  • Holy Wow! This is the best video that explains how I've always felt but never knew why. Now, in my late 30s, I can finally see and understand that this is what it was all about. Thank you; nice job!

  • uh im in high school and I hate having AS

  • @amissner I know how you feel.

  • @amissner dont hate AS! im almost in high school and having no friends can actually be a blessing. you dont have people running up to you to solve every problem! (i tell you its awful.) like, "is that snake poisonous?" i h8te that question. its kinda obvious. anyway, AS is an awesome trait! dont h8te it!

  • I say yes to all mentioned; I have it...there is more: procrastination. But what about NTs? How much of this can they say yes to? fortunately I am an artist and have found relief in it.

  • I couldn't watch your video. All the flashing and changing bright colors hurts my eyes.

  • i also have a learnign diability so alot of this is exactly the same for me i totally get where your coming from i relate to alot of what you have said i've been tested in the past for autism/aspergers but it came back negative but i do feel i could be but i dont know if it is due to my past and due to my current learning disabilities and also i know what it's liek for a person with aspergers as my best friend of 7 years has it so i've seen him feelign these things and how hard its been

  • A very good video indeed! I think I have Asperger's, but no one in my family believes it, even if I could relate to 99% of the stuff on here. I don't know if it's an aspie trait, but I tend to repeat certain lyrics of a song i heard recently. Such as when I watched that new On The Floor song and repeated it's lyrics literally 200 times in my head.

  • I have AS, and I think this video describes me really well.

  • I'm 37 now and I wasn't diagnosed with Asperger's until just after 2001, when my whole life was falling apart. This video makes me sad because it reminds me of all the awful things I experienced before, during and after my diagnosis, even though I'm living a good life now. In fact this video made me cry. T.T

  • @loneshewolf74 I'm very sorry! <:( It'll be alright, continue looking up at the optimistic.

  • @weatherstorms

my life was shit too, wanted to kill myself when i was very young im 21 now and finally medicated for depression... wasnt diagnosed with it untill i was 13 didnt make a goddamn difference in my life just made getting mental health even harder because people were like... wtf is asperger's i dont believe you have it cuz you sound normal... bullshit like that... but anywhooooo hope everyone else with it is happier than me.

  • @britters220 I have Aspergers, I was born with it. The disability is mild, thankfully!

  • @weatherstorms

it varies from person to person, some people have it really bad while others cope with it really well.

  • this video is really good :) !

I have tendencies of AS but I can relate to alot of these traits which has been shown on this video :)

Thank You for making this, I wish others could see people with Autism, AS, or tendencies in a different way instead of weird or a freak

    x

  • Wow, I can relate to practically everything in this video. As can my husband... Whoa. I am going to share this Video with everyone I know. My husband, my parents, my sisters, everyone. Maybe they would be able to understand me a little bit better.. after watching this. I have a hard time explaining myself. Atleast, with my husband it is a little easier. I also know he will be able to relate too. We both have AS, there are alot of my family who is on the Spectrum. So, Thank You for Making This.

  • @Valosia You are welcome! :) No one is alone when he/she has a disability. I wish 100% of every human being could see it that way.

  • Very good video. I can relate to almost all of it.

  • Thank you for this video. It helps me to remember patience with my aspie son. ♥

  • i totaly aggre with everything that you have said. It's nice to know im not alone in the world, teachers and adlts always think they know what where going thrugh but they dont! When was the last time there was someone with A.S. Was working in lerning support? Its nice to have somewhere to express my emotinons to people who know what im going thrugh. I think ive got post dromatik stress disorder too lol d = .

  • Let this music be an optimist to you, and others with disabilities.

  • this is a rely good vidio, and i cood relate to practically evrything you said, Thank you so much for making this vidio i don't feel so much lick i'm the onely one anymore.

  • @01stanbk Thank you! You are not the only one with a learning disability.

  • Thanks for sharing this video to us. I can relate to a lot of these feelings even though I probably don't have this disability. Like I said before I have social anxiety and I deal with depression and hyper-sensitivity so I am pretty much going through some frustrations.

  • @shannonm75 I'm glad you like it. The music was like an optomist. The feelings were showing in the video it was like someone is by the side saying everything will be okay.
