  • Is this next after Comanche Moon???

  • @fauxgrace yes

  • @fauxgrace In order they are as follows:

    DEAD MAN'S WALK

    COMANCHE MOON

    LONESOME DOVE

    STREETS OF LAREDO

Note- RETURN TO LONESOME DOVE wasn't a book. It was just a made-for-tv sequel to LONESOME DOVE, before the actual sequel, STREETS OF LAREDO.

  • it never gets old... some of the best ever teevee

  • I LOVED the book so now I'll have to see if I like the movie. :)

  • @ItalyRose810 Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho...if you LOVED the book, you'll LOVE the movie. Trust me.

  • Love the way that Gus kicks at the pigs "Go on! GIT!" No biscuits for them!

  • i got the book for this movie... after i watch this i guess i will hafta read it

  • @BLAYDZ99 oh good, you'll LOVE IT. Trust me.

  • @markmeetsworld yah i started it... pretty close to movie, amazing that the movie runs that close so far from what i've read/watched

  • @BLAYDZ99 As fantastic as the mini series is the book is just as great. Of course, the book goes into much detail as you would expect with nearly 1,000 pages. There are lots and lots of scenes in the book that are never covered in the mini series due to time constraints and it only adds to the greatness of "Lonesome Dove."

  • This is really good. The only flaw is that they can't relay the backstory to the viewer as well as the book could but that's unavoidable

  • @thejohn95 Yeah, I think you're right. For instance, in the book, the author gives detailed accounts of how Dish got his name. He also mentions events from Lorena's past, like when Mosby's sisters locked her in a basement. Those are the kinds of things that determine what the characters are like now. The NOW is all the audience has to go by in a movie, even one on this scale.

  • @markmeetsworld Also a lot of times in the book they will cut to flashbacks that Call and Gus have

  • @ 5:14: One of the many classic lines in this EPIC Western... listen to the inflection in Tommy Lee Jones' voice as he scolds Bolivar about his culinary skills; one example of a fine actor at work. It doesn't hurt that he has actors like Robert Duvall, Tim Scott, Rick Schroeder & León Singer to play off of.

    EPIC

  • To the person who was willing to share this great Western masterpiece of Americana, THANK YOU!

  • Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall are excellent in this film, A1 Cowboys, being one myself, I oughta know.

  • At the begging of this clip, Lippy is playing Beautiful Dreamer,, At any rate, this is one of thebest "western" movies of em all...

  • Robert Duvalle, last of the great cowboys...

  • whats the song called that Lippy is playin on the piano??

  • Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

  • @streetwhereulive I agree
