I can recall one Iraqi patriot I met who brought the bodies of two dead Al-Qaeda fighters to our patrol base. They had just recently arrived in his village. He shot them both with a hunting rifle. One was only wounded so he stabbed him a few times. Then he gathered them up with their passports, masks, and weapons. He put them in the back of his Bongo truck and drove them over to us. For every fired round, every damaged weapon or vehiche or other equipment has to replaced, this means someone can make and sell it. People's value are like a Q-tip, useful but not worth much.
