@Overthunking Yeah max 2012 can handel pretty much any amount of polygons with no slowdown even on average machines heres a good test to show that /watch?v=VdxwWKBy4gU
@madpencil i don't remember if i said it in the video or not, but TopoGun and 3d Coat are definitely better retopology options. This is just aimed at people who don't want to spend more money on these programs. But if you can afford them, then I'd definitely recommend those programs. I've never used them myself, but the videos I've seen are amazing.
@Overthunking I don't think this is necessarily true. I have used both Topogun and 3dCoat quit extensively. These programs ARE amazing. No arguing that. However... none of them have the same amount of modeling and UV tools as 3dsmax does. There is also alot of time saved importing and exporting between the programs. My biggest complaint with non-max programs is that its very clunky to isolate parts of the mesh and toggle the shrink wrap. Both of which Max does very well.
very helpfull, thanks.

@Theicemonkeyjr Really? Since when? That sound amazing. I've been too lazy to upgrade, so I'm still using 2010. :P

Hey man, cool tutorial...One question, is this better than Topogun? why not just use Topogun and not worry about decimating etc?
