pitiful microphones...do you not realize that I'm Raine Maida...you can't handle my vocal awesomeness...I fry your circuits...and drink your milkshake...
Stealing Babies is an excellent song, so are all the other "Happiness... Is Not a Fish..." songs.. Man, having to deal with two faulty mics, that's rough.
I'm pretty sure they fired their whole on stage staff after this performance. Two different mics going dead during the same song is a rare occurence :S n yea i lawled my ass off when he tossed the mic on stage too.
Raine is really good live. If you like him on the album, you'll be pleasantly surprised to hear him live. he goes crazy! His intensity is very high. I've seen OLP perform twice live and Raine alone performing the Hunter's Lullaby.
I think the trouble was the mike problems...and not to mention he's shivering in the cold...who's bright idea was it for an outdoor concert in the freezing cold?!
I don't know why I read comments 'cause it always ticks me off! The voice this guy has...he has more talent than anyone before him...or anyone after him ever will! He is absolutely awesome to listen to...I can't get enough!! Keep in mind that they got a record deal before their demo was even finished!!
well, i never saw them live yet (i may get to this summer, and i dont know if you did or not so i may just end up sounding like an idiot) but from my experense recordings of live performances never do the bands justice unless it is a small room, like a private party or bar.
i almost wet myself at 1:10 ish when he drops the mic and wanders over to the other one, can almost imagine him muttering to himself, "fuc*in' roadies screw you man imma goin over hee-yar EVE STANDS ALONE" lol
These guys were my favorite band for a long time until Gravity came out. It was ok, but it seemed too polished and predictable. It seemed designed to please a more general audience. Most of it was very pop-ish. I am looking forward to their next album though. They are supposedly going back to their roots.
Yea, I'm sure Gravity had a relatively big audience, but to the general OLP fan base it was a downhill drastic change from their earlier work. They went from innovative thought provoking music to generic modern pop rock in one fail swoop and it was a bit disappointing for the hard core fans.
You obviously didn't listen to the entire album. What about Sell My Soul and All For You? Those was very good...and don't even get me started on Not Enough!
I listened to Gravity enough to know every lyric of every song. Same with every OLP album. I didn't hate it. It just wasn't nearly as good as their earlier albums.
Its funny you say that. All For You was actually a song written while Mike turner was still in the band. Not Enough is probably the only really heavy and dark song they've written since the new guitarist joined.
i don't understand how you go from great albums like happiness..., clumsy and spiritual machines to crap like gravity and healthy in paranoid times. i miss mike!!
The producers pulled them in a different direction and the band was about to break up after HPT - they ended up staying together and firing the last producer. Raine is now the sole producer of their next album, and says they've gone back to the music like on the Naveed album.
jeremy is the drummer, how can you compare him to mike. i think you're talking about steve. and btw mike's writing was much better than what OLP have now. gravity was terrible.

you know.....I used to be a huge fan of Our Lady Peace...the biggest, I've followed the career of these guys all the way from their Naveed CD....and its grrrrrreat that Raine has such a connection to world's vices and try's to correct the worlds wrongs...but, I've recently changed my opinion on what he's actually trying to accomplish....its all a facade-I think that dudes a dick and extremely egotistic...that sucks....man, totally lost faith in them-its an act!
This isn't the first youtube vid of theirs that you've said that on. If you don't like them anymore because of Raine then why are you looking up so many of their vids? Just to slander them?
gosh I love olp! best band ever! <3

yea, Abba's right....
the album was overproduced for a generic sound that better suits whats in right now
that said, it wasnt bad
