They are quite powerful with that 7.7 nitro engine but I agree, to heavy. This is why I sold this one, bought a new one and converted it to brushless power. Runs 65+ Mph now!

@ryntrek823 GST doesnt do that...umm maybe u have dirt in the engine. Try cleaning up muffler and engine. Take it apart wash it with nitro and put it back. Hope its not a big issue. Did u break in properly?

In a race yes it would, I own a LST2 as well and it's a great truck but you need to actually own one of these to understand, it's much more fun than a lST2 in my opinion and i've owned a ton of RC's. everything from Savage SS, 1/5 scale FG MT, LST2, GST 7.7, T-Maxx, etc etc all fun in their own way, no need to bash about other trucks just have fun with what you have.

Does the gst come with quality shoes & pipe? I ask because I want the badest of the bad (the gst, mgt, or xl) I love the way the gst looks, it's definitly the most striking. I have a friend with a revo 3.3, and everytime he goes bashing breaks at least 3 pieces, I tought he was just incompetent but the truck is really bad built, is kinda fragile.
the savage is the best truck out there for bashing! yah, it's not the best racer; it's OK for racing but not great. my point though is, it can take more beating than any truck out there by far and the 4.6 that comes with it is the best engine i've ever run. i can actually get some power out of it in the summer without overheating it.
The savage would be the better basher, BUT i'd rather have the GST because it bashes hard, it's bigger and more fun to drive in my opinion. Either way you can't go wrong because their both great trucks.

Honestly RPM makes very strong plastic parts that I would take over aluminum for suspension parts especially A-arms anyway. Aluminum doesn't snap but it bends which is just as bad. Plus RPM guarentees their products for life. Doesn't look as bling but is lighter and tougher then aluminum a-arms. I do use aluminum for things that need to be rigid like bulkheads and c-hubs. I do like these 7.7's though.

Nice editing! What percentage of nitro do you run in your GST 7.7? My boss runs 20% and his doesn't seem as powerful as yours. How long do you think it took for your engine to break in and start making peak HP? My bosses truck only has about a gallon through it, so it's probably not fully broken in yet.
why do dumb people always so and so is faster than so and so. its a freaking monster truck. not a truggy, it dosent really want to go fast. it wants to climb and bash the most terrain. if you want fast go for a buggy, if you want jumps go for a truggy. if you want to bash! its monster trucks
7.7 is impressive. if you are going to attempt a backfilp make sure u give it plenty of power while its in the air, probably not the best thing for it but its the only way you can doing because of the momentum of the wheels and stuff liek that, when it is upside down try using the brake to bring it back flat, this while help save your body and all you tyres and shocks.
Oh, and by the way. Looks like you don't have an engine cooling hole cut in the windsheild. Just punch like 4 of them through with a screwdriver and you'll get a little extra torque.
