Joe Clark, Stanley Knowles, Allan MacEachen, Pierre Trudeau - it's sad how the quality of political leadership in Canada has declined, and how decorum in the House has deteriorated.

Someone you know little about and know nothing of but I like all feel that politics in this country has watered down to politicians servering their own self interests and engaging in bitter power sturuggles to win seats and not really crafting a future for the entire country. They pit region againt region province against province and Canadian against Canadian. One day it's all going to change!
One of the qualities of his intellect was comprehensiveness, evident in his bilingualism policies, which give a solution to linguistic tensions involving the entire country, and not just single provinces. Also his addition to the constitution of a charter expressing Canada's universal values. Comprehensiveness too in his foreign policy, where his willingness to engage positively the Soviets and China helped diminish some of the dangerous and hysterical possibilities of the Cold War.
Aw, that was nice of Prime Minister Clark. Clark was a good man
