  • I situated the pads into the chamber the best I knew how and ran the utility that is found on epsons website by searching "ink pad error." You'll receive an email with the download and the activation key. (You have to add the dashes into the activation key otherwise it won't be recognized) This worked perfectly. I'm not sure how much of a life the rinsed out pads will have but we'll see!

  • Here's exactly what I did. I pulled out all the ink pads (instructional video is on youtube) and rinsed them out. They didn't turn white, the water just ran clear once they were rinsed completely. I then put them on a paper towel to dry. Someone suggested the microwave for 3 minutes. I did try that but it didn't dry them completely. Some ink did seep into the paper towels which seemed like a good thing. I let them sit over night and they were dry in the morning.

  • when you run the program you need to enter the restart code then Epson send you attachment to the email just copy and paste press enter and you will see a message PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR PRINTER and THAT"S ALL i hope this help you i did it my artisan is back to life !!! ;)

  • sorry no more space ok now you need to restart the chip inside the printer is going to be easy go to Epson web page go to support and you will find some thing about how to restart your printer for the ink pad problem is going to be a software from Epson you need to fill it up your information like the printer serial (is going to be in the back side of your printer) and your email address and Epson will send you the soft ware to your email download it and run it make sure you have internet

  • ok i have the solution first take out the waste ink pad (remove the screw) is alot of ink on the sponges but you can wash it (remove the hose) just with continues water is no going to be quite white, and press it to take out almost all the water is going to be wet then you need to put the pads in the microwave for 3 min is going to be dry ! put it all the pad back in the same position ( make sure the right position before remove it) connect the little hose and put it back to your printer...

  • If you have not reached the end of parts life - you can first check the value of the waste ink counter and there is free utility - InkReset

  • If you own an Epson Printer and live in the USA you can downlaod for free from Epson if you just have the serial # of the machine!

  • i done like 3000 prints in like 3 months and it reached its limit good thing i bough insurance from these idiots

  • The app is 50 cents now on that site but I got it for free with a simple google search.

  • I can't believe this I saw this and went to the Epson site and it says that you can reset the count but they recommend buying a new printer! I've had my Artisan for 2 years but barely use it. I guess this warning about ink pads comes on after 800 prints.

Thanks for this video. I heard you can go without needing new ones for 2 resets till they are needed but I'm going to look into this and replace them myself.
