im going to run 3 19in monitors on 2 6850s how well do those cards work on a 3 monitor setup because im still debating doing it or just staying on 1 monitor
2 monitors are fine, as I would be happy with 2 --- 28" monitors, just makes you play further away, since the screen is spread out, but in the end, it looks the same.
1 monitor is fine for gaming, you focus on one area more closely and easier to navigate with the mouse, but I guess some people like the aspect of it.
That is very dumb. Your system is horrible for crysis at any resolution. You have one of the biggest resolutions possible, so it will play like shit. And you have it on all low. What's the point of that? Dumb all around.
@albokid2468 Calm down dude, I uploaded this video almost three years ago. I now have Crossfire 6850s running eyefinity with Crysis on all high graphic settings running across the same resolution getting 30fps.
@albokid2468 haha what a hater... This is awesome I have no idea why you think this is dumb. (1) Multi-tasking. (2) That much more bad ass (3) No one cares if you have a small penor..
ERM Can i use 1 22 Inch widescreen monitor and then 1 32 Inch monitor in middle and then a 17 Inch monitor ? And eyefinity them ? Maby scaled so they are matching each others:p???
@Kajus1707 its most likely one of the ATI HD's, like the 5870 perhaps, which has directX 11 and eyefinity, brand spankin new API's, which helps support multiple monitors.
Dude!! Look at the stutter! it looks like you are running its on 5fps!! Also the detail is turned down so low you can actually NOTICE it in a youtube video. I couldn't play like that it looks plain awful! You need a better rig by the looks of it. Running this on an O/C i7 930 (4.0Ghz) with tri-crossfire 5770's and 12GB 1600 Dominator RAM and a solid state drive there is no delay between monitors AT ALL! You seriously need to at least upgrade your CPU to do what you're trying to do.
It looks like the monitors on the sides are getting terrible lag. :-/ Are they old or is it maybe just the screens not having the same vertical sync frequency?
PLEASE HELP! i have a geforce 8800 gts with dual dvi, i wana setup like this without buying the matrox TH or any expensive HW. Any suggestion? i have an asus M3A mobo so no onboard video. PLEASE HELP!
this is sweet. I'm surprised that machine can run this so well. It would be cooler if the monitors synced up a little better. Maybe that's just the camera.
I have a rig setup that can run it about 30fps @ 1680x1050 rez on high and it was only 600 (Custom built) Course that was awihle ago so it's probably cheaper now.
no, this don't give you any more view than anybody else. the camera frustum angle is the same (well maxed out), so as you can see the edges are terribly stretched and mangled.
shooting games look better in potrait rather than landscape. Landscape tends to stretch the views. Only problem with multimonitor in crysis is unless your running a top end GPU you have to turn down the settings taking away all its splendor. Even using a single HD5870 you can't run full eyecandy with 3 monitors in alot of games.
I will post a vid today of my crysis on Triple 19" monitors. I have maxed all settings using the same SoftTh software. You have to run dx9 for the software to span all the screens but I have tweaked my configure files so I have all dx10 effects. I have some in game footage already of other games in my profile.
video quality aint so good but monitor setup is pretty damn good... the only issue i have is that your running it on what looks like low/ medium settings... but hey we cant al have our cake and eat it.. i can run crysis at high on my 20" at like 30 fps max and in some big firefights it drops to 5..... i think i need to raid my savings for a couple of gtx 295's and an i7 quad... that or ask santa... lol
is it possible to run a game, say crysis, at similar resolutions on a single display? namely a 1080p home theater projector and on a cinemascope screen? equivelant ratio: 1920X817????
You knwo what 1080p stands for ? 1920x1080. So you can run crysis (and any other modern game) on a TV in FullHD, just make sure your TV supports your PCs input. I for one played CoD WaW on my 37'' Samsung LCD yesterday in 1920x1080. Worked fine and looked stunning.
hmm, I've never tried, but if it really is one large display, Crysis should be able to detect the resolution and allow you to play it like that. Otherwise, you may need a manually adjust the config files and potentially need a Field of View (FOV) hack.
well, the projector is 1080p(1920X1200) as cinemascope projectors dont exist yet, the cinemascope screen is for watching movies that are 2.35:1 (most movies) i just thought it would be awesome to run a game in the same ultra wide aspect ratio as the movies. i can see by this video that its possible on 3 monitors, i actually only need 2/3d's the width shown on this video, so it should be possible . but i, myself dont know how or what id have to do in crysis to achieve it

It does not have to be in SLI/CF or even the same video cards. All the processing with be done on your primary video card, so the secondary video card does not have to be powerful. The downside is that you cannot harness the power of SLI/CF if you do have it. And it can be pretty picky with games and takes a bit of tinkering to get to work per game.
Well, I'm not sure. I have heard that it is possible to install two different display drivers (nvidia & ati). As long as you can get three monitors running, it should work. BTW, crossfire/SLI serves no benefit to SoftTH, so all three monitors will be rendered by one 4870.
i was wonderen, im biulding a massive 3 screen comp with triple sli with GTX285 and the whole deal and i was wonderen if softth would run me any game i want on max settings or is the abilities of the software limited?
SoftTH does not support SLI and will not gain any benefit from SLI. You would only be able to render using one video card in SoftTH. Your best bet is to get the triplehead2go, that is also limited in resolution (3x1680x1080).
The 8800GTX is based on the G80 core. The 8800GTS 512MB is based on the G92 core, along with 9800GTX and GTS250. The 9800GTX is just an overclocked 8800GTS 512MB.
I would think the black line between the monitors would kinda be annoying, but nice setup. If you upgrade your cards you could probably get better frames.
I have three PCI Express Slots on my motherboard, so I can accomodate three video cards. And I'm only SLIing the 8800GT, which can be SLIed since they are the same core, and doesn't necessarily have to be the same brand. SLI was disabled in this video though since the software to run triple monitor games does not support it.
Your CPU still has much potential for possibly a bit more overclocks. ATi's 4 Series, possibly more efficient than nVidia (in p/p ratios). You can go and get a GTX295, which I guess, dominates the dual GPU area where the x70x2 used to dominate, or a GTX285 where the GTX280 used to dominate for the single GPU area.
I'd possibly say that the 4850s are still good. =DDD
WDR10s FTW!!!!
If you aren't SLIing, can't you use one 8800GT for PhysX, as its not doing anything anyways?
Yea, I actually do overclock to 3.4Ghz for 24/7 operations since I got a liquid cooling system. haha... 4850 would be a downgrade from 8800GT SLI (aka '9800GT' [aka 'GTS240']) which is on par with a GTX280.
And yea, I can use it for PhysX, but it only benefits games with PhysX support (not Crysis). Also the software I use, SoftTH, has extremely limited support.
For other purposes, I can enable PhysX and SLI at the same time, or I can stick in a third video card for PhysX processing...
Not really the best choice of CPU... I see that this build isn't too old; 3 way SLI, or 3 PCIe slots (at least), means you have at least a 680i or a 780(90)i motherboard, being SLI compatiable. Quad cores came out by then, and is a really good choice for such multi core oriented game like Crysis. Nevertheless, if now, the E8 Series or basically any Wolfdale CPU would suffice (GODLY OVERCLOCKS!).
Not a really SPECs person, nor do I like talking too much about this; Redemptio09 is...
haha... I got my E6850 for really cheap on a black friday deal quite a while back before the 45nm CPUs. Price-wise, it was a choice between the Q6600 and E6850, and for gaming, definitely the E6850. Games won't truly utilize quad cores really well until Direct X 11. For now, it's mostly about frequency (GHz).
How many graphic cards are you running..? I have 3 19" monitors and want it set up the same way where the middle screen is the main. can you tell me please or make a video explaining how to hook up 3 monitors. no else has a tutorial video on how to do triple monitors and make the center one the main.
that is it xD @lowest level i had so fucking much fps... but the plants and the sky laggs.. @highest settings i had not soo much fps and the *laggs* were still there... when i go to a hill wit vegetation.. then some plants lags and are only showed at a lower distanz.. in the sky are windows wit loading % and more stuff...-.- and the driver.. for the 4870x2 doesnt gives much drivers @ the moment...
I see. There have been mentions of certain "stuttering" with some 4*** series GPUs from ATI.
What you say is "lag" might just be that. However I've played Crysis recently and when you look at the water (in the sea/ocean) randomly you can see that it's updating at about 3 times a second and shortly afterwards becomes smooth. Optimization probably.
Mmm too bad you have lag mate.. updated your GPU's already?

8800GTS -> 9800GTX -> GTS250
but i thought its 8800gtx to 9800gtx
kkyy23 2 years ago 2
The 8800GTX is based on the G80 core. The 8800GTS 512MB is based on the G92 core, along with 9800GTX and GTS250. The 9800GTX is just an overclocked 8800GTS 512MB.

I would think the black line between the monitors would kinda be annoying, but nice setup. If you upgrade your cards you could probably get better frames.
Go for quad sli GTX 295 :O!
sciences8 2 years ago 2
some gtx 280s beat gtx 285s especialy 280s in tri sli, you probably save abit of money too
devourment8800 2 years ago
Actually, I read its more expensive. 430$x2= 860 GTX 295
GTX 280 300$x3= 900. Idk, you're already spending so much money lol.

you cant have milti moniter with sli. nvidia disables it in the drivers
ki11joy92 2 years ago
I have three PCI Express Slots on my motherboard, so I can accomodate three video cards. And I'm only SLIing the 8800GT, which can be SLIed since they are the same core, and doesn't necessarily have to be the same brand. SLI was disabled in this video though since the software to run triple monitor games does not support it.
The Author of this video is running SLI lol.

there is programs to fix that

Your CPU still has much potential for possibly a bit more overclocks. ATi's 4 Series, possibly more efficient than nVidia (in p/p ratios). You can go and get a GTX295, which I guess, dominates the dual GPU area where the x70x2 used to dominate, or a GTX285 where the GTX280 used to dominate for the single GPU area.
I'd possibly say that the 4850s are still good. =DDD
WDR10s FTW!!!!
If you aren't SLIing, can't you use one 8800GT for PhysX, as its not doing anything anyways?
GenesisXCS 2 years ago
Yea, I actually do overclock to 3.4Ghz for 24/7 operations since I got a liquid cooling system. haha... 4850 would be a downgrade from 8800GT SLI (aka '9800GT' [aka 'GTS240']) which is on par with a GTX280.
And yea, I can use it for PhysX, but it only benefits games with PhysX support (not Crysis). Also the software I use, SoftTH, has extremely limited support.
For other purposes, I can enable PhysX and SLI at the same time, or I can stick in a third video card for PhysX processing...
smartray05 2 years ago
Not really the best choice of CPU... I see that this build isn't too old; 3 way SLI, or 3 PCIe slots (at least), means you have at least a 680i or a 780(90)i motherboard, being SLI compatiable. Quad cores came out by then, and is a really good choice for such multi core oriented game like Crysis. Nevertheless, if now, the E8 Series or basically any Wolfdale CPU would suffice (GODLY OVERCLOCKS!).
Not a really SPECs person, nor do I like talking too much about this; Redemptio09 is...
GenesisXCS 2 years ago
haha... I got my E6850 for really cheap on a black friday deal quite a while back before the 45nm CPUs. Price-wise, it was a choice between the Q6600 and E6850, and for gaming, definitely the E6850. Games won't truly utilize quad cores really well until Direct X 11. For now, it's mostly about frequency (GHz).

those black lines would annoy me

It's a pity your FPS skills do not match your prowess at buying and setting up expensive hardware.

I'd like to see your FPS skills at 15-20fps...

How many graphic cards are you running..? I have 3 19" monitors and want it set up the same way where the middle screen is the main. can you tell me please or make a video explaining how to hook up 3 monitors. no else has a tutorial video on how to do triple monitors and make the center one the main.
thanks
UTubeSecretsExposed 3 years ago
You only need two video cards each with dual outputs to run up to four monitors. Just connect your monitors to the video cards and it should work.
smartray05 3 years ago
I orderd 2 9800gt superclocked with dual outputs hopefully they will power them. any way thanks for the reply

fuck fuck fuck why does crysis so fucking lagg....???!!!! my system: Q9550 3.4ghz

Should run pretty well - what settings are you using?
Get the latest drivers. What settigns are you trying to run it at?
koko56 3 years ago
that is it xD @lowest level i had so fucking much fps... but the plants and the sky laggs.. @highest settings i had not soo much fps and the *laggs* were still there... when i go to a hill wit vegetation.. then some plants lags and are only showed at a lower distanz.. in the sky are windows wit loading % and more stuff...-.- and the driver.. for the 4870x2 doesnt gives much drivers @ the moment...
blingniger3 3 years ago
Optimization probably.

it doesn't work that way, 8500 GT can't run a monitor it does background stuff, can't do SLI with the 8800s
