@loveanianimeme - Assuming you meant to type "CRASH resistant" ,,,,,,,,, As with ANY car, it depends on the driver & the suspension of the vehicle, NOT the make or body design. We modify & upgrade the suspensions of the VW's we've built & installed these turbo engines for & also install roll cages, better braking systems, etc.
But if you were to be in a worst case scenario and hit like a wall striate on at 50 kph, would a stalk ghia crumble up as much as a beetle, (like up to the doors) or would it stand at least a little chance?
The Ghia weighs slightly more than the Bug, but there's little difference in the safety / crash impact results. The cost to repair the body damage is a different story. Ghia's are designed with solid 1 pc. front & rear ends vs. the Bugs having separate fenders & aprons. It a lot more difficult to find replacement body panels for the Ghia and thus a lot more expensive to repair.
How crach resistant are Karmann Ghias? ..or are they as bad as bugs?
