Okay, I'm just going to stop him at 3:42 - if it were anyone but Stephen Fry, I wouldn't bother - but "messianic" does NOT mean "Christ-like." Parables have nothing to do with messianic traits. Certainly Christ's parables were lovely, but that's nothing to do with his messianic nature - his (probably fictitious) role in our SALVATION!
That's why people mock Obama as "messianic," not because reverence for him is excessive (which it often is), but because he's vaunted as a deliverer!
