  • @Jaimetud

Oh look a Republitard who claims he can read! Of course it's a "Basic Econ" 101. I see you almost made it through a Junior College course. EL OH EL!!

  • @Labadie4563 that is the reason I hate Politicians!

  • @varmfarm If you're talking specifically about this video, then they're kidding, wrong.

  • Obama hasn't fixed anything! the economy is the same as when bush left!

  • @Carrotcake212 It is hard to get anything done when both sides act like children all the time instead of the responsible adults that was expected when these individuals were elected into office. Nobody wants to take the burden upon themselves, but instead play the blame game to keep their seats...

  • @Carrotcake212 Don't let these guys make you afraid to criticize Obama. If you have problems, say it.

  • GOP = party of "NO" aka party of "we don't know what else to do"

  • I don't have much tolerance for the well-intentioned fools who voted for Ralph Nader and gave us -- with the Supreme Court's help -- that disaster George Bush. Those who think there's no difference between Ds and Rs should look at the Supreme Court. The election of W gave us Roberts and Alito, who in turn, gave us the decision that allows corporations to spend unlimited money to influence elections. They will, for decades, continue to hand down decisions good for corporations and bad for us.

  • Hey Dems! you've been putting out some great video's and ads lately. any chance of seeing a commercial with the drive the car in a ditch analogy? Obama mentioned the D for forward and R for reverse at the atlanta fundraiser and I really think you should make that into a national commercial. People will remember that every time they get in the car, park, pull out, etc.

    good Job

  • Republitards hate the idea of poor and middle-class people working and making money. That is why 5 out of the 6 weakest economies since world war 2 came from republitard Presidents...and yes that includes the messiah Ronald Reagoon as well.

  • Republicans aren't the solution to the problem; Republicans ARE the problem.

  • @kernel319 I disagree. The dems had 60 votes- so in theory, the repubs can't do anything to stop their agenda. It is dems who are to blame- dems who take too much corporate cash and act like repubs- we call them "blue dog democrats", but they are pure scum and they need to be purged from the party- until then, dems will work for the corporate agenda just like repubs do.

friends don't let friends vote dem OR repub.

  • @tristramshandy3 -- Actually, the Dems had 58 votes, and that's if you count the blue dogs. Bernie Sanders, and Joe Lieberman supposedly caucused with Dems, but were not reliable. Democrats are far from perfect, but the GOP is atrocious. I'll take the lesser of the evils.

  • @kernel319 I have no tolerance for well intentioned fools who vote for evil because it is the lesser of two evils. Obama is a corporate whore as was Clinton. Pelosi and Redi were swept into power to end bullshit wars and get some accountability from a criminal administration. What did they do? They continued funding the very wars they were elected to end.

    Dems are bullshit corporate whores.

Vote 3rd party or stay home.

Anything else is just helping these assholes be legitimate.

  • I've been keeping pretty close attention on the senate activity for these legislative pieces, and while I don't know about the numbers of jobs created/saved, I do know that the numbers representing GOP support is accurate. The GOP is stonewalling EVERY PIECE of legislation they can, especially those that they can spin as "spending bills". When in reality they are bills to help jobless americans & small businesses. Shame on the GOP.

  • And in reality, no one knows how accurate these numbers really are. They think that by spending like crazy, their somehow saving money and saving jobs. If you want a good read on how to save the economy and save jobs, read Thomas Sowell's "Basic Economics."

  • @Jaimetud at least we're spending to at least TRY to save jobs. Bush's presidency's spending consisted of WAR WAR WAR and tax cuts. (which, by the way, completely screwed up his Clinton-inherited budget surplus)

  • @TheMisken I understand the need to save jobs, but spending in ways that will inevitable raise taxes on businesses or dig us deeper into debt is not the way to do it. And yes, Clinton DID have a surplus by taxing people like crazy. That's why when you look at the Clinton years, you'll notice that he had a higher unemployment rate.

  • @TheMisken And yes, Bush did go on a spending spree, wich constitutes a sizeable portion of our debt now that got dwarfed by the current administration. Which is why we need to start hiring real conservatives in order to fix the economy and fix the unemployment rate.

  • @Jaimetud Facts are facts. For details on the numbers, please see democrats.senate.gov/gopjobkilling/

  • @SenateDemocrats And the facts are the numbers you posted there don't necessarily correspond to the jobs cited. The stimulus bill didn't save jobs, the economy under it's normal fluctiation kept those jobs. I understand you're probably being paid to put this stuff up here, but sooner or later you're going to have to come to terms with the fact that your side has been in the majority for years now and the job-killing agendas are your doing.

  • @Jaimetud Majority means NOTHING if you are constantly fillibustered by the MINORITY dumbass.

  • @Jaimetud The Democrats are not spending like crazy; it is the Republicans who gave us this crises for eight years when Pres George Bush was in office. Pres Bush did not pay for the Tax breaks for the WEALTHY, did not pay for the 2 wars, did not pay for the prescription drug part d that gave away money for drug companies. All of this was not even in the budget, it was off the books. So President Obama had to put it on the books for everyone to see. So we are in a Republican Recession.

  • @Datajlzone I did not deny that Bush went on a spending spree, but if it doesn't occur to you that most of this happened under Democrats, then you haven't been paying attention. I do appreciate you, though, being a little bit more level with me than some of the other folks here.

  • @Jaimetud That's not quite true - the vast majority of the deficit is the result of Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, which took place while the GOP had majorities in both the Senate and the House. And don't forget the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (and the cost they cause) were started while the GOP controlled the entire government.

Anyway, when the budget went into surplus, Speaker Gingrich didn't want to pay debt - he wanted to cut taxes. It was Clinton who insisted on paying down the debt.

  • @Jaimetud neither party has any credibility whatsoever. Instead of arguing who is the worse of two evils, let's just ABANDON these pricks altogether.

There is ZERO justification for voting for republicans OR democrats in the year 2010. The facts and history make it too clear who these corporate whores work for- and it ain't you or me.

Bush sucked. Obama sucks. Let's stop having this self-defeating argument so we can move BEYOND these fools.

  • @Jaimetud Have a read of how the GOP opposed Clinton's economic plans, which resulted in massive economic expansion, employment and debt reduction. They've done the same thing with Obama - they reject good economic policy and bet against the national interest.

  • @Jaimetud You need only watch the news, read the paper or tune into c-span to see how correct these #'s are. And what would you have the current administration do in light of what they inherited? If $ was not spent there would be millions more unemployed, no US car industry (except maybe Ford), millions more filing for bankruptcy due to no healthcare and the list goes on. The party of NO is gone or will be.

  • @xClarissaV6661 Yes, I've watched C-Span. I watched C-Span when the Republicans attempted to remove the regulations on the banking industry that got us into this mess. Now these guys are sitting pretty up there thinking that it was conservatives that were the only problem. And as for the car industry, yeah, I remember what they did with that money...in Vegas. I also remember how the stimulus money that disappeared into area codes that don't exist in the U.S. Makes one curious.

  • @Jaimetud I see yet another uninformed lazy person who would rather post a comment than find the facts. If you want a good read on basic economics, don't go to a political hack from the Lassez Fair school, that's how the Bush policies got us in this present mess in the first place.

  • @awreslr2 Yeah, I know what got us into this mess. The Democrats reulated Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the late nineties to start giving out loans to pretty much whoever needed them. When the banks started failing as a result, Democrats like Barney Frank pidgeonholed efforts to deregulate. As a result, the banks failed when they ran out of money, companies who were attached to them got in trouble and had to lay people off. If you want culprits, your side has more explaining to do than mine.

  • @Jaimetud You must be either very stupid or very much addicted to the lies propagated by Fox News. Such a bunch of falsehoods posted as facts, you obviously don't know anything about banking laws, nor about history. Barney Frank, as a Congressperson cannot "pigeonhole" anything as one member of a Republican Controlled congress of 535 members, House and Senate. I see you are not interested in facts, just Fox News spin floats your boat. My side is the American voter, what is yours?

  • @Jaimetud EVEN IF all your lies were facts, (of course they are not!) George W Bush, as President for 8 years, had the power and authority to reverse or fix anything you claim Barney Frank did, all on his onesome. You not only lack facts and propagate complete falsehoods, (Republicans Controlled Congress from 1995 -2007) you also lack any sense of logic. Enjoy your fantasies, that's all you've got.

  • @awreslr2 Ah, Fox News. If I had a drink for every time someone accused me of watching Fox News when they ran out of options, I’d have to go to rehab. The truth is, sir, I barely even watch Fox News, nor do I drink for that matter. If I turned around and accused you of watching MSNBC or any film by Michael Moore, I’d just as well be guilty of scapegoating. And if you’re thinking of attacking Rush Limbaugh next, don’t. I never listen to him either.

  • @awreslr2 Now for the truth. Under the Bush administration, Democrats blocked to deregulate saying that there was nothing wrong with the way the company was being run. Don’t believe me, you can check out C-Span. Check out the Youtube video "Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and Democrats are Clueless on Freddie Mac Fannie Mae and the financial credit" for more. Barney Frank was just one guy who cashed in.

  • @Jaimetud Load of nonsense - right wing BS.

  • @NShutterbug You wanna know why jobs looked sluggish under the Bush administration? While I was out working part time, the unemployed people under the Bush administration acting like bums pretty much refusing to get jobs until Bush was out of office. I spoke with these people. Now we’re facing even higher numbers under a Democratic administration, as usual.

  • @Jaimetud -Jamieturd, thats a lame argument. People could have gone to work but chose not to?! And actually, ever since Obama took office, unemployment started to go down and now jobs are actually starting to be created, something that hasn't happened under the Bush era for a long, long time.

Facts are hard to face sometimes, but lying to make yourself look smart is just plain wrong.

  • @chriswpieper Good. Now you've stooped to the level of name-calling and made yourself look childish. As for unemployment, don't make the mistake of atributing it to this administration's actions. Again, read "Basic Economics" by Sowell. The actions of this administration aren't what's going to help this economy.

  • @chriswpieper You don't realize that there's a subculture of people in this country who simply don't want to work? I just got back from Louisiana. There's a large percentage of people down there who simply live off of welfare. You can find these same people in places like Chicago and on the streets of San Francisco. Heck, I know a guy whose wife tried to stop him from getting a job so that they could live off of food stamps. The people getting jobs back now are those like me who WANT them.

  • @Jaimetud Okay, so the economy is starting to recover, jobs are being created, and consumers are starting to spend more. Seems to me like the Obama admin, is doing at least something right. But, as you can see in the video, their colleagues don't want to help. As for people that don't want to work, sure it's true, what I'm saying is that is such a small minority of people and they're not the ones keeping our economy from recovering.

  • @chriswpieper Thank you for being more reasonable, but I still don’t agree. The economy is recovering thanks to it’s normal fluctuation. What the Obama administration is doing is putting regulations into place, which inevitably get in the way profits and cause harm to the economy. This is behavior typical of career politicians. They go for what sounds best as opposed to what truly is best.

  • @Jaimetud The regulations help prevent future bank failures by restricting very risky investments. And the bailouts helped avoid an economic depression, so without them we could be a lot worse-off. As we can tell by the contrast between Hoover and Roosevelt, it's better to have a president who takes action instead of one who lets the economy recover on its own.

  • @chriswpieper I know the regulations are put into place with the best of intentions, but as I’ve said, the people who put these things into place don’t often know how economics works. In the late nineties, Fannie Mae was regulated to give out loans to any family who asked for one. That’s the part of the story they don’t talk about enough. So unless that Regulation gets removed, we’re still headed for more trouble.

  • @Jaimetud These regulations aren't the same as the one's in the late nineties. These are designed to LIMIT loans. And yes, I do agree that WWII was ultimately the main thing that got us fully out of the depression, but the new deal did help us get halfway out, and it helped avoid deeper depression, if not help grow the economy. I believe that if he didn't take action, the outcome would be a lot worse.

  • @chriswpieper Yes, I can see that. They are hopefully limiting, but the problem is mainly that they have that power. Say that they know what they’re doing and that they manage to make decisions good for the short term. Whoever comes in to replace them MAY NOT have the same philosophies and you’ve continued the vicious cycle of the effects of poor legislation. That’s why government should have less to do with business practices altogether.

  • @chriswpieper I would also like to ask, where is the balance? If Congress is allowed to spend more but Fannie Mae is not, isn’t that just taking the same problem and moving it elsewhere? And again, I would Googling “FDR's policies prolonged Depression by 7 years, UCLA economists calculate” for more information on FDR’s policies.

  • @chriswpieper And yes, I remember what happened with FDR. There was a four year study done at UCLA only a few years ago that showed that FDR’s spending policies prolonged the Great Depression for seven more years. By the end of the thirties, even members of his administration admitted that they were spending themselves too far into debt. Ultimately, the best decision that FDR made economically was going into World War II. THAT was what saved the economy.

  • @Jaimetud Now, the Republicans DO want to help. It’s just that this video only gives you half of the story. This is why I’m subscribed to this channel as well as the “EricCantor” and “RepublicanLeader” channels. Republicans have offered alternatives since the first stimulus bill was created and they’ve been working on bills that don’t cost nearly as much nor do they enforce government intrusions that harm businesses.

  • @awreslr2 Now, my side is with the American people. Since you’re so proud of where you stand, you can check out pollster.com for a good sum up of many polls regardless of which way they are spun. But I would like to ask now, what’s with all these personal attacks on me? Are you perhaps embarrassed that the Obama administration didn’t turn out as you’d hoped and you’re too proud to admit it? Or are you just afraid of losing a significant amount of political power come this November?

  • @Jaimetud You have ABSOLUTELY no idea what you are talking about. None. Nada. ZIp.

  • @NShutterbug And now, you’re not even going to run a proper argument anymore. You might as well stick your fingers in your ears and start humming. Don’t bother me anymore.

  • @Jaimetud They are NOT spending like crazy HCR will save billions. Adding jobs means more tax revenue. Bush spent like crazy - borrowed from China to finance two wars and gave tax cuts to the wealthy that were supposed to create jobs. In no presidential term in history were fewer jobs created than under Bush - 750,000 jobs were being lost a month at the start of 2009.

  • @NShutterbug Health Care Reform will drive up taxes and cause small businesses that are already having trouble to go under, thus increasing unemployment. This ought to be common sense. Even China asked how Obama was going to pay for Health Care when we were already broke. So sorry, but I don’t buy it.

  • @Jaimetud -In case you didn't know, the health care bill REDUCES the deficit and creates competition within businesses, which is good. Educate yourself BEFORE commenting.

  • @chriswpieper Don't worry, sir. I keep myself educated. And last I checked (today), small businesses are already paying more thanks to the Health Care bill. That's not pro business and it's not helping.

  • Amazing how cold hearted the Republicans are. Hard to believe the Republicans are Americans.

  • @skyvilla Which is why I will NEVER vote for those assholes.
