  • I dont know about these guys, but are they a real rock n roll band or they are just comedians?

  • @96lolstar They are a real band but the members are actors playing characters. They actually write and play all their own music, which is intentioanlly bad for comedic effect.

  • this is the only video on youtube that makes me laugh everytime. And I don't even play guitar

  • Jeff Beck Guitar Collection !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The funniest part is that Les Pauls have the LEAST sustain. He's making fun of all those dudes who say it has the most.

  • @TheGargoyleLives

les pauls have pretty good sustain what are you talking about...Ibanez S series doesn't have too much sustain because its such a thin guitar

  • @DrChuck45 For electric guitars; the things that make differences are the pickups/electronics, the bridge, the nut, and most importantly the hands of the player. The pickups in the Ibanez could be attached to a tree and it would have the same amount of sustain, wood mass doesn't make a difference.

  • I find it funny that he says he cherishes them while he smokes around them.

  • MHAUHUWUHAUHAWUHAWHUAAUWWHA!!! THUMBS FUCKIN UP if you understand now what FUCKING ADRIAN SMITH MEANT on that Iron Maiden documentary!!!!! xDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I wonder if that was actually a '59.

  • @DrakrSlyr might very well have been.in the credits they mention that the guitars are from some collection..

  • i thought i heard that 1600 were made..and only 1000 accounted for....

  • "He was Busting my balls"

  • LOOOL)))) ahah

  • I typed in "sustain" and now I'm here

  • Where did they get all the amazing guitars for this scene??

  • @audiotrax2000 They actually shot this scene at a music store.

  • What guitar is that he doesnt let anyone look at is it a jagstang ?

  • @TheFunkycrisp Fender Bass 6. Only two made in that color.

  • @bubbleheadft so that's what it is...right next to the strat (don't touch this one)? I was wracking my brains.

  • @imajeepster Yup. here's a video of the other one.

    /watch?v=rYQSnHorKZM

  • @bubbleheadft

i think the bassist from Nirvana had one...they are quite rare.

  • @imajeepster AUGH, wrong one!

Here's the other of the two:

    /watch?v=51nA8g_t84c&feature=related

  • @TheFunkycrisp stratocaster...62 or 63? experts help me out! they made them with matching painted headstocks in a series of colours. You would have seen the beach boys with the white one....

  • The volume on that goes up to eleven.

  • @MaynnTheMarshmallow give it a rest lol

  • Was that a real 59 burst? Because I think it might be... $100,000 guitar right there.

  • @theneongray To answer your question. Yes. It is a real '59 Sunburst. I know because I know a man who used to own that particular guitar. His name is Vic Dapra and he owns a Guitar shop just outside Pittsburgh. Feel free to google him. He's written a few books on the Original sunbursts and Gibson even did a limited run of Vic DaPra Les Pauls.

  • Gotta love the sustain you're hearing here :D

  • If ANY band should be in the R&R Hall of Fame, it SHOULD be Spinal Tap.

  • hahah./.. you can go have a bite, and you'll still be hearing it!

  • Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that Nigel is holding a cigarette near a '59 burst?

  • It's the guy from waynes world!

  • @Raptor8762 er... no, it's the guy from Spinal Tap!

    (do some research)

  • That shirt, of course, is an exact reproduction of his internal skeleton.

And yes, it would be green.

  • god, i saw this at a midnight movie in like '84 and falling out. my best friend didn't think it was funny.

  • The sustain was unbeleivable..that is, if it was playing.

  • You only get this perfect feedback if your amp's volume can go to 11.

  • this video is hilarious

  • most folks would choose the strat for an "island guitar"

i would choose a nice 59 flametop ala marshall stack.

    all original of course!

  • I wonder if the volume pot goes to eleven.

  • @thelordofdarkcheese Close, it goes to 500K!!!

  • LOL

  • "The sustain just listen to it"

    "I'm not hearing anything"

"You would though if it was playing..."

  • November 11th 2011. 11/11/11... BE THERE...

  • @PANICBLADE at what time?

  • @1pixle at 11:11 of coarse :P lol xD wtf was he talkin bout anyways?

  • @TasteForDisaster Nigel Tufnel Day

  • @PANICBLADE what is that? i know im an idiot, but still, i have no idea

  • @TasteForDisaster just google it, its just for fun.

  • @1pixle I think its around 7am?

  • seconding some other commenters: I would MUCH rather have a 1959 LP with Nigel Tufnel's cigarette burn than a flawless 1959 LP.

  • I thought he was talking about the s-stain on it from when he spilled his c-coffee...

  • Funny stuff! Just subscribed! Subscribe back and check out my songss :)

  • 1959!!! I have an 1958 reissue and could imagine what a real 1959 would feel like..

  • @Earnhardt12345

    I bet it feels expensive.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....you could go on have a bite and still be hearing that one.

  • It terrifies me how close that lit cigarette gets to that guitar. If I were the owner I'd have pitched a fit when I saw that scene!

  • @LeftyF2003 I know what you mean. Get that thing away from my guitar.

  • @LeftyF2003 na, if i were the owner, it would be a badge of honor on that guitar. Having the one that got accidentally damaged on the movie.

  • @LeftyF2003 If that guitar got a cig stain from Nigel Tuffnel during the filming of this scene it's value would have soared on that alone.

    It is stuff of legend.

  • to find additional information about that '59 les paul, google the following and visit the site at the top of the results:

tap 1959 9 0823 courtesy of Norman's Rare Guitars, Reseda, California

you can verify that it is the same guitar by comparing the flame above the top tail-piece post in the video at 0:27 to the pics from "Uncle Lou" that are given at the site i referenced above.

  • @OceanderTethyseus Thanx for sharing that!! So "Top of the heap" has serialnumer 9 0823! I remember going "WHOA!" the very first time i saw that movie in the eighties... It truly is a guitar of dreams..:-)

  • i mean you can just hold it - aaahhhhhh - you can go and have a bit

  • Rob Reiner is a legend

  • nigel tufnel is god

  • YOU WOULD THOUGH IF IT WERE PLAYING.... HI- LARIOUS

  • I'm not hearing anything !

  • classic

  • WOW that sustain was unbelievable. the les paul kept the EXACT same volume throughout the video.

  • @tangypasta I'm still hearing it. Its quite incredible, a 27 year long sustain. They dont make guitars like that anymore. I mean like, they literally dont make them. It just.....I mean sometimes I have to ask myself, is this white noise I'm hearing in my ears or is that STILL the sustain from that Les Paul. And its like.....how much more white can this noise be. And the answer is none. None more white.

  • @stzzla I love you for this.

  • @tangypasta They must have used a compressor on the movie audio.

  • I went and had a bite, I came back and I was still hearing that one

  • phil x has a review of the other sea foam green fender bass VI thats behind them haha

  • "You can go and have a bite and -Ahhhhh- still be hearing that one.,"

  • I wonder who actually owns that very guitar. Not a similar, no that exact one!

Who owns 'Top of the Heap' ??

  • i found the following information about that '59 les paul online from a fellow named Jim Klein, who claims to have owned the guitar.

"Hi guys , thought you'd like to know that this guitar used to be mine . 9 0823 was my guitar for 11 years .I sold it due to divorce b.s. Sadest day of my life . I sold it to Normans rare guitars back when I lived in L.A. in the early '80s ."

  • "two weeks later I get a call from Eddie Van Halen searching for info on it [ he got my number from a card in the guitar case ] Good old Norm had doubled the price . my bad . I purchased it from the Sound Factory in Kalamazoo , Mich. for $325.00 in , I think , 1971 or '72 living in South Haven , Mich. sharing rehersal space with Susie Quatro's band , those were the days ."

  • "By the way the guitar does not have a big tree trunk neck . i took it up to Gibson , showed it to several of the older employees I remember one of them saying the neck is almost like a 1960 but not quite . nothing like the R9 reissues maybe like the new R0 '' tweener'' neck ? I've not played one of the 09/10 reissues yet but my 07 R9 is still a little fat . that's my story and I'm sticking with it . thanks , jim klein"

  • "... norman does not have the guitar anymore . he sold it through '' uncle lou '' after the Tap movie . it resides in New York . jk"

  • @OceanderTethyseus I passed on that guitar when Lou had it at 275k. I couldnt bring myself to buy it at that price when i paid 12k for Aces burst. There was finish off the back of the neck. That bothered me. Dumb move not buying that guitar. It was stunning. I thinks its priceless. No doubt a 500k Les Paul! .

  • my guitar of choice!!!

  • " uhAhhhhhhhhhh" n awesome interruption

  • "Listen, just Listen!"

    "I'm not hearing anything"

"Well that's because it's not playing"

    LOL

  • the guy looks a lot like ozzy. he sould ve played the part of the demented front man

  • aaaaaaaaaahh and you can go and have a bite and aaaaaaaaaahh
