@djomercohen it depends on wind velocity. Let's say it came in the other side: wind 280° and blowing at 10m/s (17kts) and that the aircraft is coming in at 70kts/ approx: 36m/s the ground speed is 46m/s(87kts). knowing that the rwy length is 650m and it took him 7 seconds after crossing the threshold to land it, it would have left him him with 330m to stop. the side he came in, looks much better: ground speed: 26m/s(50kts) rwy left to stop on touchdown: 470m. You still need a good pilot though.
why dont they land from the other side? why does every damn runway allow both directions?

@chimpzahoy Take a look at the island in Google Earth. Most islands have a flat spot somewhere on them. St Bart's has only one, and this is it.
