Pat picked up my guitar and played when he visited my home as a teenager and even then I was impressed with his range and natural ability. Over the years he has become an outstanding guitarist.
I wish he would put more on You tube demonstrating his various styles of play and improvisation to receive the recognition he truly deserves.
Totally beautiful and so authentic you can almost smell the broken biscuits and elbow patches! I remember Pat being a rock out top 40 player, I'm not sure if he found his niche or the niche found him but it makes for pure musical resolution (albeit a bit humbling)
I have seen Pat McCarthy over the last decade or so go from being a good local guitarist (he lives in Louth in Lincs), to being a very good guitarist, to now being a major league jazz guitarist. I saw him last night in Hull with John Horler and Dave Green, British jazz 'A' team members, and he played some fantastic fluid solos on some very complex changes.
i was lucky enough to catch him in alford earlier this year and was stunned. i just wish id taken more time when i was living in louth to see more of him then
Thankyou for your kind comment i am amazed to discover the community of guitar players all being so enthusiastic and supportive of each other.Technology working at its best.
Nice inversions, some great turnarounds and a neat tag. Lovely tone and a good sense of time. A very nice arrngmt. I want to hear more of this stuff! Well played PAt. Thanks for posting.

I don't understand Jazz, and i probably never will. But what i know is that it sounds and feels damn nice.
And that both sounded and felt bloody good!
Well played!
