@Sfairsoftmatrix ; internal wise i agree with you for sure, in comparison the a&k doesnt even come close to the internal quality or performance quality of the PTS, but externally, the a&k definately gives the PTS a run for its money, aside from the trademarks of course. A&K as a company does make a good body, the m249, m60, m60vn all have excellent external quality, but youre completely right about them being shit when it comes to internals. Good observation.

The a&k was worth it to me because i liked the look and feel of it, and with internal upgrades it performs how i want it to.
Very informative. I can afford either but still don't know which one to get though. They're sold out everywhere but evike and airsoft gi are taking preorders with estimated release late this month (FEB) so I'm scrambling to glean whatever info I can on them. Would have liked to see rate of fire comparison. Also i've read that the PTS is lipo ready whereas the A&K is not. That's a huge selling point for some people. Thanks for the vid.
@Jackal40k : think of it this way bro, the A&K is more of a platform build a bear version, you can build it to do whatever u want with some added cash, if youre an experienced airsofter and know a good aeg when u use one i guarantee the A&K masada will NOT satisfy you with its out of the box performance, the PTS however performs like a highend AEG, and is ready to go out of the box but what u see is what u get.

@jayheuk : i no longer have access to the PTS masada, well for now anyway, but as for the a&k, i can tell you right now, almost everything should be replaced for reliability, it has the standard plastic piston, piston head, spring guide, just all plastic, the only thing i didnt change and is still holding up well is the gears, and the stock motor sucks too, basically you are buying an a&k masada for the body, if ur a seasoned player ur gonna wanna just overhaul the gearbox. its a good platform.
hi i just recently purchesed a A&K masada and i only have two problems with it one is the barrel is very wobbly and the handguard moves a little bit and makes a click do you know how to fix it

@Dawgoalie2 : the a&k and PTS are worlds apart from eachother, the a&k has a traditional stock china gearbox,so the internals will be fine but no telling for how long, and the motor is crap. I am personally used to having tighbore barrels in my AEG's so the a&k masadas accuracy made me wanna puke, but then again, im used to playing with 6.01 and 6.03 barrels. It honestly really comes down to preference. new motor,piston,and barrel would hold u over for a good while. my opinion.
@Drumdudeck : you cant base your opinion on quality over one person who had a bad experience, what happened to that masada could happen to any gun any time no matter what brand it is. My VFC hk416 has died on me on the field before, the trigger contacts burned out and i had only owned the gun for 2 months, but i fixed it and my 416 is now my most reliable gun. stuff like this happens. Its a part of airsoft. my opinion still stands the PTS masada still has superior internal quality.

@zenkicookies no problem, and you did your research too! i own an A&K masada and mine has a feeding issue, when i put in any mag besides it's included 300 round hicap p-mag. And when i try to put the p-mag back in after, say, a G&G m4 mag, it won't feed with this magazine either. i was looking for a review that possibly mentioned having this issue and a fix to it. has yours ever done this? and also i meant to say you did fine in front of the camera haha better than i could've done xD
@TheHardflippKid : ive never had feeding issues with any mag on the a&k masada except for the STAR pmags, those dont feed well in there, and i know u may have tried this already but i made the mistake of overlooking this.. have you tried lubricating the mag you are trying to use? its amazing how much of a difference it makes. and thanx bro, id like to make more but im actually really camera shy, just gotta keep doing it til im confortable :P
@zenkicookies thansk for the advice, what i tried is i put electrical tape around it to stop it from wobbling at use to lubricate it?all, my friend has my battery so i can't test that yet. What should i lubricate it with?
@TheHardflippKid : spray the inside of the mag with a little silicon spray, but make sure its the silicon spray you buy from an airsoft store. the ICS silicon spray is the one i use and reccomend, but any one from an airsoft store will do, dont get any from walmart,autozone, etc, not made for airsoft, trust me i learned that wasnt a good idea first hand lol.

@TheHardflippKid : nah man dont get silicon from anywhere other than an airsoft store, the ones from hardware stores and walmart etc. have different compounds in them and are for more heavy duty type of work, if u use it on an airsoft gun it will eat at your bucking, nub, and any other rubber components.
@TheK9er : good question, the problem with the hop up on these is that even when fully engaged, the arm doesnt push down the nub far enough to actually make any difference in hop, what i had to do is actually make the nub bigger by putting in a small piece of copper wire inside of it, now i run the hop up maxed out but the nub being larger actually reveals itself inside the barrel enough and gives it the spin i need for distance.
@knifecollectordude : with slight modification yes its possible, kwa is a little proprietary and the a&k lower reciever might not let it sit perfect, so some modification would be required, i dont think itll drop straight in.

You said that they are the same size... so have you tried to swap the stocks? I'm wondering if the stocks on ebay for the PTS one will fit an A&K one.
@jskulley : that is a very good question, i really never thought of trying that... rats... but they are both of different construction since they are made by different companies, so im certain that it wont bolt right on, if it does fit it will probably require some modification, i will look at my buddies soon, and find out for sure though. id like a magpul pts masada stock for my a&k, that would be cool.
@jskulley : actually i did, unfortunately it doesnt line up correctly.. so it doesnt fit :( i didnt actually try to make it fit, but by looking at them closely i can tell. im sure u can modify it to fit somehow if u really try, might have to do some screwing and dremeling though.
Wow, really, really good comparison. I've been wondering for a while now how these two stack up externally. Because you own it, what can you say about comparing your A&K to a G36k? I run a custom CA/Ares G36 RIS, and I've found its fairly big on me. I was thinking maybe a Masada would be a bit more slender. Any insight? Thanks ahead of time.
@ChairsoftHawaii : hey man, thanx for your input, and yeah a masada would be a little more compact in comparison to a g36k, but not by much, weight would probably be about equal, and comparing these two externally(a&k/PTS) quality wise i really couldnt decide which was best, they both have outstanding external quality, the PTS externals do have a 1 up on the a&k bc of the mbus sight, and trademarks, but quality wise, its too close to call.
@actionfan1000 : honestly either one would be good, but just keep in mind that 90% of airsofters use an m4, and if you have a masada you stand out a little more if you like that sorta thing, but it all comes down to preference, they are both good guns.
@actionfan1000 if you want to upgrade your gearbox, i say no to the blowback, i had one, and there is a black plate that takes a long time to taks off, and its hard. the i broke my blowback in it. i say, go with the masada, i am also getting the masada for field, and my broken G&G combat machine blowback is going to be my CQB weapon
@ECHO7AIRSOFT nah not yet. i just got it last week. i'm planning on installing a tightbore in it soon xD, since its so easy to take the barrel out. I might also replace the motor to a magnum motor to really beaf up the rps. and the fps is already really good so no need for a new spring. until something breaks inside, i probably won't touch the internals haha. did u get yours yet?

The matrix magnum motor! but i will be installing a 6.03mm tightbore for field, and a matrix m120 gearbox, and its less money and alot better than the magpul PTS version! if i were you be careful with the internals, they might not handle the motor, but as long as you are careful it should be good,

@actionfan1000 : with a 6.03 you still have plenty of room bro, ive ran 6.03 for years and have never had a problem with jamming, its when u get to a 6.01 where u have to be a little more careful. systema 6.04 is a good barrel, but a 6.03 will show u overall better results with equal reliability.. id go with a 6.03

@ECHO7AIRSOFT : with G&G and overall higher end guns, the internals arent as good as aftermarket parts on an individual basis, for ex. a G&G piston isnt as good as say a king arms metal tooth piston, what makes a G&G or a KWA gear box so good is the combination of the parts as a whole, and how perfect it fits into the gearbox casing which was molded for those parts, if you want your masada to be reliable i would overhaul it with aftermarket parts rather then stock parts from a higher end aeg.
@zenkicookies yesh, but just putting in G&G internals for NOW until i get some aftermarket parts, i plan to get awesome upgrades for it, but i dont have $560 to spend right now, so ill wait and just use G&G parts, and yes the G&G piston is OK but not like aftermarket parts

@TheHardflippKid : nah man dont get silicon from anywhere other than an airsoft store, the ones from hardware stores and walmart etc. have different compounds in them and are for more heavy duty type of work, if u use it on an airsoft gun it will eat at your bucking, nub, and any other rubber components.

@TheK9er : good question, the problem with the hop up on these is that even when fully engaged, the arm doesnt push down the nub far enough to actually make any difference in hop, what i had to do is actually make the nub bigger by putting in a small piece of copper wire inside of it, now i run the hop up maxed out but the nub being larger actually reveals itself inside the barrel enough and gives it the spin i need for distance.

@knifecollectordude : with slight modification yes its possible, kwa is a little proprietary and the a&k lower reciever might not let it sit perfect, so some modification would be required, i dont think itll drop straight in.

You said that they are the same size... so have you tried to swap the stocks? I'm wondering if the stocks on ebay for the PTS one will fit an A&K one.

@jskulley : that is a very good question, i really never thought of trying that... rats... but they are both of different construction since they are made by different companies, so im certain that it wont bolt right on, if it does fit it will probably require some modification, i will look at my buddies soon, and find out for sure though. id like a magpul pts masada stock for my a&k, that would be cool.

@jskulley : actually i did, unfortunately it doesnt line up correctly.. so it doesnt fit :( i didnt actually try to make it fit, but by looking at them closely i can tell. im sure u can modify it to fit somehow if u really try, might have to do some screwing and dremeling though.

Wow, really, really good comparison. I've been wondering for a while now how these two stack up externally. Because you own it, what can you say about comparing your A&K to a G36k? I run a custom CA/Ares G36 RIS, and I've found its fairly big on me. I was thinking maybe a Masada would be a bit more slender. Any insight? Thanks ahead of time.

@ChairsoftHawaii : hey man, thanx for your input, and yeah a masada would be a little more compact in comparison to a g36k, but not by much, weight would probably be about equal, and comparing these two externally(a&k/PTS) quality wise i really couldnt decide which was best, they both have outstanding external quality, the PTS externals do have a 1 up on the a&k bc of the mbus sight, and trademarks, but quality wise, its too close to call.

@actionfan1000 : honestly either one would be good, but just keep in mind that 90% of airsofters use an m4, and if you have a masada you stand out a little more if you like that sorta thing, but it all comes down to preference, they are both good guns.

@actionfan1000 if you want to upgrade your gearbox, i say no to the blowback, i had one, and there is a black plate that takes a long time to taks off, and its hard. the i broke my blowback in it. i say, go with the masada, i am also getting the masada for field, and my broken G&G combat machine blowback is going to be my CQB weapon

@ECHO7AIRSOFT nah not yet. i just got it last week. i'm planning on installing a tightbore in it soon xD, since its so easy to take the barrel out. I might also replace the motor to a magnum motor to really beaf up the rps. and the fps is already really good so no need for a new spring. until something breaks inside, i probably won't touch the internals haha. did u get yours yet?

The matrix magnum motor! but i will be installing a 6.03mm tightbore for field, and a matrix m120 gearbox, and its less money and alot better than the magpul PTS version! if i were you be careful with the internals, they might not handle the motor, but as long as you are careful it should be good,

@ECHO7AIRSOFT yeah nice man, and thanks for the advice. i was thinking of going with a 6.04 systema tightbore tho, since i'm afraid the 6.03 might jam with the bbs i use. and the m120 gearbox would make it beast haha. But i have confidence in the internals since a&k did make a kick ass m60 and m249, but i always am careful with my guns either way lol. either way tell me how it goes and maybe post a video. i'd love to see that beast in action haha xD

@actionfan1000 : with a 6.03 you still have plenty of room bro, ive ran 6.03 for years and have never had a problem with jamming, its when u get to a 6.01 where u have to be a little more careful. systema 6.04 is a good barrel, but a 6.03 will show u overall better results with equal reliability.. id go with a 6.03

@ECHO7AIRSOFT : with G&G and overall higher end guns, the internals arent as good as aftermarket parts on an individual basis, for ex. a G&G piston isnt as good as say a king arms metal tooth piston, what makes a G&G or a KWA gear box so good is the combination of the parts as a whole, and how perfect it fits into the gearbox casing which was molded for those parts, if you want your masada to be reliable i would overhaul it with aftermarket parts rather then stock parts from a higher end aeg.

@zenkicookies yesh, but just putting in G&G internals for NOW until i get some aftermarket parts, i plan to get awesome upgrades for it, but i dont have $560 to spend right now, so ill wait and just use G&G parts, and yes the G&G piston is OK but not like aftermarket parts

@airsoftboi1104 : yeah theyre both expensive, only good reason to buy an A&K masada is if youre just buying it for the look, it looks and feels awesome, but for how much it costs the internals could be better, like mentioned in the video, if you can upgrade it yourself then its worth it.
