  • WOW! Stunning pair.

  • amazing rider! amazing horse! awesome!!!

  • She is such an amazing rider! I hope I can be half the rider she is now :)

  • Okay, everyone who is saying rude things STOP. I know Zazou personally and guess what, she's a great rider and is better than everyone who is commenting rude. She has rode so many DIFFERENT kinds of horses. Yes, some really nice ones, but she owns a green horse and rides her too. PLEASE PPL JUST BE NICE!!!

    Thx!

    -Poinesrule1216

  • even though she gets to ride nice horses, i think the better the horse sometimes the harder they are to ride. The one, Timo? or something, who she rode in the 2010 George Morris thing, seemed to be pretty hard. She just covers up any difficulties really well. Shes AWE-some!

  • You know what everyone, this girl is an amazing rider! She may have grown up with money, but that only gets you to a certain point.(Having a horse) To be able to win the Maclay Finals so you know how good you have to be?? You have to be amazing! Some of you who say I'd like to see her on a jumper, well you know what not everyone is meant for jumpers. Some people are amazing at Hunters and Eq., but jumpers just isn't their forte, so don't judge her off of what she competes in.Shes an amzing ridr!

  • I just remembered too, she does do jumpers! And is amazing at that too! She also won the Ronnie Mutch scholarship, therefor she actually doesn't have a lot of money. She worked her butt of! And ppl. want her to ride their horses for them.

  • OK anyone that says she cant ride, obviously does not know what a good rider is.

  • Hey to everyone who is saying Zazou only got here because of her money:

    Money doesn'y buy talent.

you can put a very bad rider on a super nice horse and it doesnt look very nice. this girl's good. don't be a hater!!

  • She's such an awesome rider, and her name is reeeaally cool :) As for all the hater "she rides push button horses" comments, yeah the horses she rides are push button, but that's what makes them so challenging. They're incredibly fine-tuned and unforgiving, so any mistakes on her part would be clearly visible, does that make sense? So her riding has to be absolutely immaculate to get a great performance out of the horse. :)

  • @graceloveseventing actually that makes no sense. A push button horse is able to figure out the ques even when they are given a little wrong.

  • I think people should shut their mouths and avoid the vitriol unless they themselves have won the Maclay or other bigeq final. Who are you people to criticize Zazou so viciously unless you are a Maclay winner yourself or a big R judge.

  • It amazes me that people think they have the right to criticize riders like zazou who have worked incredibly hard and achieved so much. You really think that your measly insults and "advice" are better than what she gets told by the top trainers she gets to ride with like George Morris. or you think you have a better eye thaan the top judges in the country who all place her on top, they clearly seem to like how she rides or else she wouldn't be winning.

  • yeah, I would like to see her on an insane jumper.

  • have u ever been on an insane jumper?

  • It would be interesting to see her ride on a difficult horse...one that isn't push button.

  • You know what I have admired this girls riding for at least 3 years and I have read the articles she has written for CArding magazine. Her horses may know what to do but she has ridden plenty of horses that are not ridden point and click she has catch rode so many horses and when was the last time you got on a crazy ass pony that you have never ridden before and made it go around perfectly

  • I've seen her ride a green horse and she didn't do very well. And I've broken many horses and trained them up to 3'6''-3'9'' with auto changes all by myself. So yes I've riden plenty of green horses.

  • ok then thats grate for you! and yes she has gotten to ride some nice horses. but really you ppl need to respect these riders they have to really love the sport to be going to this many shows and riding all these horses and for all you know these horses could be really hard and she gust makes them look easy so gust stop!!

  • i agree with you. i mean, since she was little shes gotten to ride well trained horses. she probably has ridden hard horses but never had to work hard with them to be able to show at her level. wish i could live where she lives, more access to nice horses, unlike us northern states.

  • I'd like to see you try...

  • Every equitation riders legs swing forward a bit when they land. It's because they want to land into their heels instead of landing on the horses neck and making them unbalanced. This round was in incredible.

  • im so glad she won the maclay this year, she really deserved it.

  • I would love to ride that horse, he looks like tons of fun.

  • ugh do people always have to critique those who ride better then them? ... I hate going to videos and then reading the comments of these wanna be riders critiquing these riders who have made names for them selves. Seriously these riders will never take your comments to heart, thats what their coaches are for.... so why comment?

Any ways congratulations to zazou on winning the Maclay she really deserved the win.

  • & she just won maclays.

    What a great ridder

  • Beezie Madden has NOTHING to do with eq whatsoever. Zazou is following the horse and releasing, and beings she trained under George Morris I believe shes incredibly talented. Shes riding correctly.

  • i dont know if i like the way she rides. she is a good rider but i dont like her style. for some reason her 2point (jumping position) doesnt look natural/right to me for some resaon. it might just be that her horses head is straight up in the air... but for some reason i just dont like her riding... idk...

  • i like her riding when shes not over a jump, but it kinda looks like she jumps up her horse's neck. idk tho. it was still a good ride.

  • I can see that too. She's always slightly ahead of the horse which makes her leg swing forward quite a bit when she lands. I've noticed that on every video I've watched of her and I've seen it when I watched her ride live. It makes her position over the fences look very stiff.

  • agreed. her jumping position looks...off.

  • I'm pretty sure her riding is better than yours by far.

  • her riding actually looks natural (or correct).....you just probably dont see that because you think correct riding is the heel jammed down and all stiff in the back, also harsh hands. jeez people, if you dont know your stuff dont comment

  • That was a perfect round!

  • she is a beautiful rider. i love this horse too, she showed him in the hunter derby.

  • on behalf of zazou... "bite me"

  • honestly, i really don't like the way she rides. i feel like she almost looks TOO lifeless and quiet. i'm not really sure about why exactly i feel this way, but i really hate to see a rider look like they literally are doing absolutely nothing, although some might argue that that is the point of a good equitation rider.

  • watch Beezie ride. She barely moves in the saddle and you cant argue that shes not a good rider

  • clearly, you have no idea what equitation requires. you are supposed to look as if it is all natural. its because she is so good on her aids that she doesn't need to make huge obvious adjustments, shes really in tune with her horse, hence why shes such a good eq rider.

  • That horse has such nice jumping style! I agree, she has a lovely position!

  • I love the way she rides, she's just so quiet in the saddle. She has a really forward but steady pace that makes her rides flow. Wealthy or not, she is definetly an amazing rider.

  • i love this horse, this rider, and this round.

  • PLUS... she started out doing schooling shows just like the rest of us (tri-valley and santa barbara amateur)!

  • I grew up and trained with Zazou since we were little kids (and I'm four years older than her) and she really is great. And what makes her even better is EVERY SINGLE HORSE she rode growing up she trained with her mom from SCRATCH and turned into a great pony and/or horse. She only recently got the chance to ride all these wonderful horses since she hit high school, and she worked her butt off to get there.

Zazou is proof that you can be great without being super wealthy and given made horses

  • I never knew that about Zazou, but your right. You never see people like Brianne Goutal riding green horses, do you?

All her showjumping rounds are won on high dollar ones.

  • just wondering how did she get the opportunity to ride all of these horses?

  • my mom doesnt like horses =/

  • That looks like so much fun. I would love to ride in a Maclay class some day..

  • um i show the double As and its EXTREMELY hard i mean some kids have the go around made ones but most of themmm arent i mean you have to work your butt off to get the horse like that!

  • i agree with kimi. i jump 3ft and have NEVER gone to a show other than the schooling shows at my barn. thankfully my parents are letting me join show team next year!!! XD

  • i don't think she's rich....

i love them together. her leg never moves.

  • shes a great rider, but there's not one horse show she'll go to that's not at LEAST 'A'. Everyone would be a "good" rider, if they did "A" shows daily. (I love the way you ride btw) Im just jealous of all of your money!! lol

  • I don't agree. You could put any rider on a made horse and put them in a "AA" show every weekend it does not mean they will ever be a good rider. It takes a ton of time riding diff. horses (green to made) in diff. kind's of things (going from the eq to the jumpers and to the hunters) to become the rider she is. Infact I know people that have never been to a rated show in there life that are better riders then some that are doing the Maclay.

  • i very much agree with you

  • i agree completley 100% with KimiF08, you make a smart observation. and i know several great riders that have never an will never go to an A rated show because it does take money, however i diffrintiate with the fact that some people who do have money are indeed good riders, not all but some. i think however Zazou Hoffman is a good rider whether she has money or not. thanks for the vid :)

  • She deff. is...in fact she is my far my favorite eq rider right now. Im not saying that if you have money you just buy made horses and just sit there. I just don't like how she was saying if you have money and you can do "A" and "AA" shows you are going to be a good rider because thats not true.

  • @KimiF08 do you SERIOUSLY think that these girls who ride with the top trainers in the country don't know how to ride difficult horses? These trainers believe in having well-rounded, very capable riders who can handle their business on any horse. Most of these girls catch ride at shows which can be incredibly hard. Sure, they ride awesome, easy horses a lot, but don't fool yourself because of your jealousy.

  • she's an amazing rider

  • gute horse, but idk theres something odd about her riding, w/e, she's got the money so she can get the training.

  • what's odd about it?

  • Is this horse possibly available for lease?

    Thank you

  • im sure but currently zazou hoffman is leasing him...if you want to be prepared to pay a lot

  • haha, I just LOVE this horse a ton. shes so damn lucky.

  • lol i know right hes really talented :D

  • go opie i love this horse!

  • wow ever since the week she spent with george morris she has improved alot :D

  • anyone would - i would kill for a lesson with him!

  • Zazou is a great rider! Lovely horse as well!
