Evan Solomon clearly has a hard time shaking his own pro-Israel bias.
He is unprepared for the interview, knows little of the history of the Israeli (lack of) peace process, has that uncomfortable fidget when the reality of Israel's actions and falls back on the "overthrow the brutal regime" tagline when pushed back beyond his comfort zone.

Very insightful, Chomsky breaks it down well. I think people, in general, have a fundamental flawed "value system". People tend to think "loyalty" is more important than "truth". If you "stand by your country no matter what", it is regarded as having a "high moral value". This is misplaced, "stand by the truth", force your country to change by public opinion. In the long run, you will change the country for the better. Your country is an ever changing list of values and ideals, question it

Noam The keeper of the truth , I hope he lives beyond 100 yrs at least , can't imagine this world without souls like him. It's really too bad that American Media has collectively barred him. Truth hurts I guess.
@TheOnesufi I could not agree more with you mate! It is such a shame the world won't truly know his greatness just because the media refuses to show the truth.
Chomsky is the rarest sort of intellectual: He is a true sage. His sense of right and wrong is impeccable. The right has no comparable apologists. They may have "think tanks" but such institutions contain nobody of any intellectual distinction. They are "...vulgar propagandists, not real scholars." The only thinker they have is Victor Davis Hanson. He was interviewed by Bill Maher. When the camera started Hanson became totally abstracted in a way which demonstrated symptoms of dementia.
@cookleon can you expand on that. It seems to me the interviewer is trotting off lame questions and points easily dismissed. Do you think this is a tactic? I'm not having a dig at you, just would like to hear what exactly you mean. Are you saying he is deliberately playing it to show the strength and support Chomsky? Thanks. Daniel
he is so right i dont see much difference between how governments calling themselves democratic operate today and how marxist-leninist governments operated during the cold war
this is a self hate jew he sucks and need to be in a asylum hes totally wrong its better for him to hang himself for the sake of sanity in the israeli arab issue
Just as much a politician as those he criticizes. He intentionally neglects to mention that Israel is America's most strategic ally in that region and therefore necessary for US military dominance. His life would be much different were it not for that dominance. Not saying I don't like the guy - I do. But he's being disingenuous.
@kaylasdaddy55 Chomsky routinely discusses how Israel is an appendage of U.S. power, and has even likened it to "an offshore U.S. military base." To my knowledge he has never tried to equivocate from this.
how the £µçk did the interviewer get that job? he's not interviewing, he's trying to push his views on his guest. not successfully i might add. maybe because his views aren't really his own...
OOOOOHHHHHH, now I understand the republican mindset. When a person speaks the truth about world affairs then that makes him a moron, but the ones that are outright liars, crooks and war mongers are the republicans heros. Reagan - Iran/ Contra "I have no recollection of that" Bush 1 - "read my lips, no new taxes" Bush 2 - weapons of mass destruction
And before you spew bullshit, the democrats suck too.
@warcamp70 What does this have to do with the atheist Chomsky being a Left Wing moron? This Far Left lunatic should stick his field of expertise and not politics.
@warcamp70 No, by this video we understand the interviewer, a libtard, a huge Obama supporter, who is absolutely FLOORED by what he is hearing, as objected over and over again, for instance, claiming Obama put the fair deal on the table - immediately refuted by Chomsky - the main problem is of course, the LIBTARDS don't know what the hell they are talking about, believing the left wing propaganda, and immediately assigning their fantasies to their "left wing potus and leaders" despite the facts
@Silicondoc I understand your objection to US liberal policies but the issue transcends petty politics and your use of derogatory terms only tarnishes your credibility.
To paraphrase Chomsky, "if you look at the facts it should be obvious" we, the People, have been duped by our so-called democratic institutions and understood what a Big Bully we've let our government become and realized the crimes we've let it do in our name on the stage of world politics.
@VieuxMalcommode No, it doesn't transcend, since "The People", obviously one I was responding to, still carries within his tiny mind "the war monger party" label assigned the Republicans by the GIGANTIC PROPAGANDA MACHINE. Another gigantic and still accepted LIE shoved down my throat all my life BY THE DEMOCRATS, BY THE LEFT, is "the republicans are the party of big business and big money". If we didn't have the MASSIVE DELUSIONS of (D) propagated, we'd actually have a "People" that were awake
@ARepublicanVictory - "..stupid far Leftist moron..." So, you'd rather have 'intellectuals' like George W Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Palin, Limbaugh in positions of power and spuwing nonsensical biblical doctrine out to appease the narrow-minded masses of the 'greatest democracy in the world'? I'll assume you're kidding.
@ARepublicanVictory what is funny is that the ones whom are being exploited and choose to remain ignorant never have anything of value to say but rather, and if not, ridicule the very people whom are fighting for their freedom, or at least bringing attention to the utmost important issues of today..lol
the saddest thing is that americans would never elect someone as brilliant and logical as chomsky, they want an american idol, someone who can make us feel good....fuck...
@ohthelushlife of course look at Barack Obama... his foreign policy record is AWFUL... The republicans are possibly even WORSE and as a registered democrat I am embarrassed of my leaders in the US... I am from a Socialist Country (Jugoslawia) and in 1989 my family moved to New Orleans and I grew up in a very very poor neighborhood... We have really lost our way in the last 15 years... We were on the right track for a while and then lost it again with George HW Bush and then later with George W.
@ohthelushlife i feel the saddest thing is that people think by electing anybody, whomever that may be, is going to 'fix' these 'problems' we encounter today. such problems are the very justification used to suggest, implement and promote irrational ideas like government itself
@tonyfalca for example, if there was no terrorist organizations, such as Al Qaeda, the us government would have nobody to 'defend' itself against. but then again, Al Qaeda was funded and supported by the CIA back in the day to get to where it is, and who knows what else
@ohthelushlife I'd vote for Chomsky or Vidal in a heartbeat. The closest I can come to any of these individuals is Ron Paul, and I'm definitely voting for him.
@abe0101 i think it's good interviewing.. he wanted chomsky to answer. if he agreed, chomsky wouldn't be able to explain it the way he did. what was most important was that the interviewer didn't interrupt, and he did to that. he respected chomsky.
@wygram ya i guess you are right... i just hate it when i see interviewers disrespect chomsky in anyway... the way i see it is that there is such a fear among journalists and interviewers to show the israeli - palestinian issue or middle eastern issues in an objective manner because of a huge influence and fear from the zionist movement in America.. even if the interviewers dont agree with zionism and israeli crimes, they still present it in a moral light - and everyone knows it is an act.
@abe0101 I totally agree, but everyone else doesn't let him talk or argues with him and tries to make him look like a fool.. this guy asks questions from a perspective that many people see things, and the interviewer let's chomsky answer. but yeah, the whole zionist scheme of doing whatever they want and hiding behind an antisemitic wall really is quite brilliant, in a malevolent way.
@wygram i do not think it is brilliant, i think it stemmed from paranoia and a supremacy issue they have with themselves that made them psychotic and then use that excuse as a force field against any criticisms against the crimes they commit on others.. it would never have worked if zionists were not in influential and powerful positions. i highly doubt this world will put up with them any longer...i see their ideology and anyone who supports that garbage being destroyed in a century or so
@abe0101 but that's precisely what i mean. they wouldn't have lasted this long had it not been for their antisemitic smokescreen.. they can only get away with it because they call whoever doesn't agree with them antisemitic.. and after ww1 and 2 it's not good to be antisemitic.
@wygram i agree. personally i always feel like bashing one of their face in when they call me that vicious name... its like even when you show them all the facts behind the israel palestine conflict and all the crimes israel commits and even soldiers on videos admitting they killed women and children intentionally to send a message out, still they manipulate the conversation and say if you wont agree with them that is anti semetic .these tactics are losing credibility and they will remain alone
@wygram they are losing a lot of fan base among white people in this country too-big time.. because they are getting tired of being called anti semetic for saying that israel controls the congress and the senate...i am not even white and i can admit that. i seen former senators and congressman get ousted out for saying the same thing and then to be tainted with the label anti semite in their record for life for voicing what the people are saying should no longer be tolerated. life goes on
Wow, what a man! His knowledge can't be disputed with. And if it wasn't for documentaries like the Zeitgeist and Ethos I wouldn't no about him. Thank a lot for this!
@RaggedM88 : Bit of a mismatch. Remember, Hitchens is primarily a writer who has visited a lot of places. Chomsky is a deep scholar who writes as a necessary to get his ideas across. Chomsky has the mind of scientist, Hitchens has the mind of a debater/writer.
I don't think Hitchens gift of language would save him in a debate with Chomsky.
@websnarf I think Hitch would give him a run for his money. Usually Hitchens debates complete morons from a fundamentalist religious community. I wanna see him go up against an intellectual giant like Chomsky to see how smart he really is. At a minimum we would see an interesting battle of view points represented by very intelligent people.
@Aresolar690: chomsky uses factual evidence and anecdote to make a very strong case. he uses factual evidence to REVEAL the reality of the world. is he perfect? no, of course not... but from the research i've been doing he's the best we have. it is true that there are some liberals who accept his views without question, but i believe there are many more conservatives who blindly accept what the US press, US GOV, and US MEDIA are telling us.
Chomsky is rational and very persuasive. But I think Chomsky uses facts and anecdote to cover a flawed and tilted worldview, and takes a position on things that can only amount to conspiracy theory, portraying an evil West and an innocent, helpless, world victimized by Americas evil. Plus, He does most liberals thinking for them, which is disturbing, seeing as how none of his worshippers on this very site could remeber any specific detail of this video if asked about it.
@Aresolar690 Do you remember, specifically, when Chomsky mentioned (around 2:30, 1st video) that no one defends those that are defending themselves such as suicide bombers (Tabiban or Hamass), but everyone defends the attackers, the occupiers who murder civilians in Palestine and other week countries. Or what about around 5:15 still video 1, when Chomsky agrees that there are brutal regimes out there and the US supports them!
This interviewer is not interviewing, he is expressing his agenda. This man should not be interviewing a man of the stature of Mr. Chomsky. The brainwashed rhetoric he trots out and lack of intelligent debate is staggering.
@danielmurray04 i think a tool like him is the ideal person to conduct this interview, cos he spews out his common misconceptions that the public hold as though they are truth, and then chomsky hammers him with reality, lol.
@danielmurray04 I think interviewer is even make it out on purpose so Chomsky can counter argument the points and agendas of status quo. So in short the points that interviewrs is making can be not of his own
you are right. as an interviewer one ought to liste. this interviewer does not listen! he just puts forward his preconceptions and facile convictions.
I have made my point and clearly I listened. What exactly is your issue that makes you say I need to research what he's saying? There is not anything in what I have said that would suggest I was ill informed. His interviewing technique and all he says during the interview are quite sufficient anyway to see he is not an informed intelligent person or done proper research.Your comment says nothing and says it in a forceful way.Interviewers should properly researched the topics and interviewees.
@danielmurray04 I like it when interviewers challenge Chomsky. Too many liberals just agree with everything he says. This way he can directly refute the popular propaganda.
@oblitteraa Chomsky's views conflict with popular opinion and challenge apathy. This interviewer really just provides a platform for the views he supposedly represents to be destroyed. It is odd how weak the interviewer is. I think a stronger opposition to his view would be more worthwhile.
Sir you are an amazing person and I wish more people watched this interview of yours and see what the west is really doing around the world. Hat's off to you sir!
@imzdanful He's a professor of linguistics and as such he knows what it means for a minority group to re-appropriate a formerly pejorative term to give it a new meaning. Get your head out of your ass you pompous dildo.
So what does israel do to get so much support from america and the world. Are they positioned so the us military have easy access to the mid eats. I know I sound uneducated and I guess I am so anyone who can answer will be much appreciated. Thanks
@BizaroMustard100 Im sure there is a value for USA to have a friend in the middle eastern area, but beside this worth entioning is the big influence and power that Israel has in the White House with their lobby.
@PeTrTr So israel has a good lobby in the us? Anything else? I havn't really gone deep on this issue yet (sorry) but the only vids on yt i find are the ones from kkk type anti zionist so im not sure how accurate. So there in a good spot and they have a good lobbyist. There has to be more because they cant do all this crap and be so well treated by the media and the ppl let alone the government
@BizaroMustard100 THey have a powerful lobby in the U.S. who influence decisions in this regard. As you say they do get a lot of support without any real moral or rational reason.
so what's so special about this internview? Is it that Chomsky announces that the US invades countries for oil? I thought everyone knew this already...... Please advise.
globalist think if immigration is open and flowing they can better control the world buy destroying nationalism and love of one's country. in this day and age we need a higher level of nationalism to combat the locus like globalist.
resoundingly rational and armed with only facts, chomsky really is the pre eminent political analyst of our times. there is a school of conspiratory thought that says that whistle blowers and truth speakers are usually disposed of by bodies like the cia and fbi. i'm surprised, and glad, that chomsky has been able for decades to openly and vehemently voice his dissidence and inform the general public of whats really happening behind the propaganda circus without obstruction or penalty.
Chomsky is arguably the most famous intellectual of this century...it would be dificult to get rid of him without suspicion. I hope he lives a very long life.

It's no surprise that the most facist organisation of the world had the slogan "my honor is loyality".
People can actually challange the roots of all this imperialism and culture of dependence by disconnecting themselfs from the underlying issue.
Build a proper energy efficent home that produces more energy than it uses.
That way you already kicked imperialism in the nuts, because you stopped funding it all.

BillSalem 6 months ago
@danielmurray04 I think you misunderstand the interviewer, by "showing" his agenda, he draws out the strongest conclusions Chomsky can make.

@cookleon can you expand on that. It seems to me the interviewer is trotting off lame questions and points easily dismissed. Do you think this is a tactic? Just as much a politician as those he criticizes. He intentionally neglects to mention that Israel is America's most strategic ally in that region and therefore necessary for US military dominance. His life would be much different were it not for that dominance. Not saying I don't like the guy - I do. But he's being disingenuous.
kaylasdaddy55 8 months ago
@kaylasdaddy55 Chomsky routinely discusses how Israel is an appendage of U.S. power, and has even likened it to "an offshore U.S. military base." To my knowledge he has never tried to equivocate from this.

ARepublicanVictory 5 months ago
@warcamp70 No, by this video we understand the interviewer, a libtard, a huge Obama supporter, who is absolutely FLOORED by what he is hearing, as objected over and over again, for instance, claiming Obama put the fair deal on the table - immediately refuted by Chomsky - the main problem is of course, the LIBTARDS don't know what the hell they are talking about, believing the left wing propaganda, and immediately assigning their fantasies to their "left wing potus and leaders" despite the facts
Silicondoc 4 months ago
@Silicondoc I understand your objection to US liberal policies but the issue transcends petty politics and your use of derogatory terms only tarnishes your credibility.
To paraphrase Chomsky, "if you look at the facts it should be obvious" we, the People, have been duped by our so-called democratic institutions and understood what a Big Bully we've let our government become and realized the crimes we've let it do in our name on the stage of world politics.
VieuxMalcommode 3 months ago
@VieuxMalcommode No, it doesn't transcend, since "The People", obviously one I was responding to, still carries within his tiny mind "the war monger party" label assigned the Republicans by the GIGANTIC PROPAGANDA MACHINE. Another gigantic and still accepted LIE shoved down my throat all my life BY THE DEMOCRATS, BY THE LEFT, is "the republicans are the party of big business and big money". If we didn't have the MASSIVE DELUSIONS of (D) propagated, we'd actually have a "People" that were awake

We were on the right track for a while and then lost it again with George HW Bush and then later with George W.

abe0101 8 months ago
@abe0101 i think it's good interviewing.. he wanted chomsky to answer. if he agreed, chomsky wouldn't be able to explain it the way he did. what was most important was that the interviewer didn't interrupt, and he did to that. he respected chomsky.
wygram 8 months ago
@wygram ya i guess you are right... i just hate it when i see interviewers disrespect chomsky in anyway... the way i see it is that there is such a fear among journalists and interviewers to show the israeli - palestinian issue or middle eastern issues in an objective manner because of a huge influence and fear from the zionist movement in America.. even if the interviewers dont agree with zionism and israeli crimes, they still present it in a moral light - and everyone knows it is an act.
abe0101 8 months ago
@abe0101 I totally agree, but everyone else doesn't let him talk or argues with him and tries to make him look like a fool.. this guy asks questions from a perspective that many people see things, and the interviewer let's chomsky answer. but yeah, the whole zionist scheme of doing whatever they want and hiding behind an antisemitic wall really is quite brilliant, in a malevolent way.
wygram 8 months ago
@wygram i do not think it is brilliant, i think it stemmed from paranoia and a supremacy issue they have with themselves that made them psychotic and then use that excuse as a force field against any criticisms against the crimes they commit on others.. it would never have worked if zionists were not in influential and powerful positions. i highly doubt this world will put up with them any longer...i see their ideology and anyone who supports that garbage being destroyed in a century or so
abe0101 8 months ago
@abe0101 but that's precisely what i mean. they wouldn't have lasted this long had it not been for their antisemitic smokescreen.. they can only get away with it because they call whoever doesn't agree with them antisemitic.. and after ww1 and 2 it's not good to be antisemitic.
wygram 8 months ago
@wygram i agree. personally i always feel like bashing one of their face in when they call me that vicious name... its like even when you show them all the facts behind the israel palestine conflict and all the crimes israel commits and even soldiers on videos admitting they killed women and children intentionally to send a message out, still they manipulate the conversation and say if you wont agree with them that is anti semetic .these tactics are losing credibility and they will remain alone
abe0101 8 months ago
@wygram they are losing a lot of fan base among white people in this country too-big time.. because they are getting tired of being called anti semetic for saying that israel controls the congress and the senate...i am not even white and i can admit that. i seen former senators and congressman get ousted out for saying the same thing and then to be tainted with the label anti semite in their record for life for voicing what the people are saying should no longer be tolerated. life goes on

I would kill to see a Hitchens vs. Chomsky debate on foreign policy.
RaggedM88 8 months ago
@RaggedM88 : Bit of a mismatch. Remember, Hitchens is primarily a writer who has visited a lot of places. Chomsky is a deep scholar who writes as a necessary to get his ideas across. Chomsky has the mind of scientist, Hitchens has the mind of a debater/writer.
I don't think Hitchens gift of language would save him in a debate with Chomsky.
websnarf 8 months ago
@websnarf I think Hitch would give him a run for his money. Usually Hitchens debates complete morons from a fundamentalist religious community. I wanna see him go up against an intellectual giant like Chomsky to see how smart he really is. At a minimum we would see an interesting battle of view points represented by very intelligent people.
RaggedM88 8 months ago 2
@Aresolar690: chomsky uses factual evidence and anecdote to make a very strong case. he uses factual evidence to REVEAL the reality of the world. is he perfect? no, of course not... but from the research i've been doing he's the best we have. it is true that there are some liberals who accept his views without question, but i believe there are many more conservatives who blindly accept what the US press, US GOV, and US MEDIA are telling us.
ZIROLAND 8 months ago
Chomsky is rational and very persuasive. But I think Chomsky uses facts and anecdote to cover a flawed and tilted worldview, and takes a position on things that can only amount to conspiracy theory, portraying an evil West and an innocent, helpless, world victimized by Americas evil. Plus, He does most liberals thinking for them, which is disturbing, seeing as how none of his worshippers on this very site could remeber any specific detail of this video if asked about it.
Aresolar690 8 months ago
@Aresolar690 Do you remember, specifically, when Chomsky mentioned (around 2:30, 1st video) that no one defends those that are defending themselves such as suicide bombers (Tabiban or Hamass), but everyone defends the attackers, the occupiers who murder civilians in Palestine and other week countries. Or what about around 5:15 still video 1, when Chomsky agrees that there are brutal regimes out there and the US supports them!
