  • Thanks Gourvelos might be one day i need do it.

  • Man u got some skillz.

  • I purchased an aluminum swash plate that was already shortened and it cost me like 4 bucks! don't waste your time doing this just go to a good hobby store and they will have mods that fit this. There are a million mods for the MSR!

  • @chris4me123 $4 share the link so we can all get one, love how cheap these things are

  • @Gourvelos I picked mine up at a hobby shop in Alliston Ontario so there is no link. Just check your local hobby shop or go to one of there web pages and search around a little bit. Most of my parts are aluminum.

  • Man thats an ugly hack job.....I cant believe someone doesnt make a mod swashplate for those things. If you chop that thing up and dont get everything PRECISELY right youre toast. How many goofballs have watched this and totally botched the job I wonder...

  • @jtlachappelle There is a swashplate that now has been made that is the same length as mine is and as far as getting everything precisely right the mSR is forgiving in that respect, actually any FP heli is due to the mechanics of the head, many know this but you could learn a few things about that online by doing a google search and I am sure you can pick up some basic knowledge

  • @Gourvelos I agree!! You don't have to be 100% precise...But at least be about 90% their is enough play to compensate.....This is a nice quick Mod & another way to save a couple of bucks for "real crash repairs"

  • I will be awesome if you make msr go 3d. I will be waiting for that video ;)

  • it seems a great idea...i'm bored with my mSR and I want it to be more bad. I'll try this mod before buying the Cusker swash mod

  • It seems great...I'm bored with the mSR so I want it more bad...i''l try this mode before buyng the Cusker swash mod

  • I can't imagine wanting to make the mSR faster. I already struggle to keep from crashing into everything around me, and I still have the control links on the slower, stock position.

BTW: your video about how to fly an mSR was quite useful, but now I'm ready for the advanced training video.

  • nice...what kind of glue is this...???

  • I got one of these and the fun factor is worth every penny. Nice vid!

  • Very creative and nice work with the plastic and soldering iron. I think I will have a few spares on hand when I try this.

  • very clever, how much more throw do you achieve this way? i ahve mine in "advanced" swash links with full rate and still want more cyclic outdoors, how was you reattaching the arms, with the melted plastic?

  • i crashed my msr into my 250 gallon aquarium it went straight to the bottom of the 3 foot tank i was soo upset with myself i figured i would never be flying my msr again luckily i pulled it out dried it off and it still fly's great !! don't attempt i just might be lucky ha

  • @M4sk3dC4sp3r

hey i was flying my vapor and accidently landed in my pool. dried it off and it was flying as if nothing ever happened...

  • I crashed mine into my 90 gallon salt water and caught it before it went down too far. Used a hairdryer, while crapping my pants because it's my second MSR, bought just a couple days ago-first one got crushed by my niece! I hope the gyro isn't messed up because it doesnt hover as well and sort of meanders around in circles.

  • @yomrd salt water?! I surprised it still works

  • Hi...

i fixed my MSR !!! As i thought the servo was faulty. I got some new ones and bought a soldering iron with a thin tip. So this morning i re joined the wire with solder . And put the battery in, then it worked!!!! im so happy, a week without the msr. BTW im 14. happy flying!!

  • Well Done!!

  • wow that was quick response , Thanks

  • Hi

Yesterday i crashed my msr into the wall and as a result of that the forward and backward servo isnt working. Today i picked up a new set of servos. But im a bit nervous about soldering it back onto the 5 in 1 unit because if i mess it up it costs £60. So any ideas of why it isnt working and some soldering tips. THanks

  • Chances are that you have something jammed in it like hair or similar, but if it is faulty then replace it, use a magnifying glass, have plenty of heat on the soldering iron, lay it flat on the ground, remove the servo gears on both servos (as the heat from the soldering iron being close will melt them) and touch the circuit board with the soldering iron, DO NOT LEAVE THE SOLDERING IRON ON THE BOARD TOO LONG. take your time, dont rush it. let me know how you go.

  • The tiny gears get nicked during crashes, They get noisy at the least, and they get stuck at the worst...

  • i dont know what happened, but i fixed it.

  • Y do this i dont git it

  • Oh.. I guess I didnt explain that part, it gives the mSR much more maneuverability, allows you to do loops, tighter turns, etc.

When you get better at flying you will see limitations of the mSR and you will want more from it, that is when I suggest you do this mod.

  • to make the heli more responsive basicly making the heli faster in movement (performance)

  • Well that was heli cool!

Great video! I'm getting one and once I'm used to it, I'll try this out.

    :)

  • Nice mod. I have a question though about the material you used to clean your soldering iron tip with - is it a piece of the Golden Fleece from Jason & The Argonauts?

  • I was wondering, what is that black stuff you're using to bond the arms together?

  • I'm using the plastic that the MSR is made from, nothing else will melt into that plastic, so in this case I was using the actual cut pieces I removed from the arms.

  • Oh I see thanks....

  • @Gourvelos ok....
