I won't explain all the process again but read what was written before. It's spike because they cast same spells at different target but in the same time.

The purpose is to KD them all. Every opposite player is locked by an ele ... so they can scatter ... it's almost the same....

and this video was made before Factions came out!

interface like that can actually be kinda handy if you're healing or clicking skills because you can keep an eye on whats happening around your char and on healthbars without having to glance away :)

Why cover half your screen with shit like that? Move it off to the side, or at least make it transparent. Jesus christ, don't tell me you have it there because you actually click on it. Anyone using the mouse to click abilities in ANY pvp game will always lose to someone using hotkeys and keyboard shortcuts. They are far superior and faster, and you are gimping yourself if you click.

I already said it several times but apparently you can't read so I'll explain it to you right here: .... It wasn't me who made the video!!!!!! .... And to explain why he (the person who really made the video) play like that is easy to find and understand: Not to miss anything when sent on the net, because sometimes you got cropping or else that ruins the visibility! The vid was made to show a bug, nothing else!

@staphinfection Not true. A good clicker has no problem keeping up with noob friendly game where global cooldowns are the same time it takes them to switch targets and click the spell or a different one again (wow comes to mind) gg "elitist"

So it totally apply here!

Principle of a spike is to deal a maximum of damages in a short array of time and blocking healer to do theyr job ... KD helps to do it ... so it's definitely a spike team!

why do all the opposing teams in these ''spike builds'' never use interrupts?

They did! ^^ But with the help of the mantra it was impossible to do it correctly!

When I first saw that vid, it was made to illustrate a bug in the mantra (for not stopping damages ... interrupt was stopped actually .. if you look closely)

So using interrupt was quite common but that mantra helped a lot! After the first MS release, mantra is useless because of KD!

Ah yes! At 0:31 he use the mantra before rushing and releasing the MS. At 0:35 (appx) he was hit by an interrupt skill that damaged him (and not supposed to because of a bug)

I'm not running that build at all but if we look at the team, it's a spiking meteor team.

They use KD and damages to finish the team. Because of early gameplay (Before Factions) lots of counter wasn't possible.

As I can see, they choose their target, launching Meteor Shower then switching target then re-launch MS.

So it's definetly a spike team (but old).

For 40/40 set, I'm not sure they were available

at that time!

I'm just telling it one's more .... it's a pre-Faction build .. so you won't see any Rit or Sin in the fight nor Faction skill... it was the best spike team you could have with elementalist after update on air skills(Old classical spike ele build ^^)

So! You know now why it "sucks" :p

I don't know if you're talking about opposite team or not.

In fact, if you look at those red gauges, it's the team of the one who've recorded the movie. You only play with online other players (in this case), excepted maybe a elementalist mercenary (controlled by the computer).

I would take a different healing skill cause ele have worst healing skill in the game,

with 7 eles, you wouldnt make it to HOH

The plot of that build is normally to reach HoH.

It makes blocks the other team with KD + damage. Classic spike team (and even using an hench ).

I don't think healing is a real issue because of fast elimination .. both side. If they fail, they don't need to care about healing; but self healing is just there to not fail.

and it doesnt neccessarily have to be a *melee* type of spike since u already have a skill in ur bar to deal with it

Only anti-KD team would couter easily that fire-elem team. But as far as I know, not common. BUT, it looks like an old team beacause no running skill... so this team was made before HoH update.

This team is based on KD and has anti-interrupt stance so ... all stance removal then interrupt or KD team would beat it.

Split team would do it either.

And normally, versus "classic" Ranger spike team, it would be quite easy (in theory) because of small number of spiker (says 3 is usual .. maybe 4)

All you have to do is to eliminate one of the ranger to cut on theyr spike. Here .. if you kill an elem .. that doesn't really stop the thing... because it's AoE team.

Maybe you can go now with some Savanah Fire elem for more AoE damage and pressure (not all) .. say 3 Ele with it or maybe only 2.

SF and SH are nice if you coordinate it with meteors but with the amount of people using thumpers you will have a hard time keeping everything down.

Na any slightly smart team with rit spirits and a monk or 2 will deal with this team is no time. anti kd is one way but with a nice monk you will have some troubles. have you never ran into cry of frustration? that would stop the whole team in 1 skill. because you all cast meteor shower right at the start all together.

I don't run this build, I only pick that vid somewhere to illustrate the bugged use of anti-interrupt mantra.

You can (hardly) see the main player getting damages from CoF but not being interrupted at all. And yes, using SF and SH has to be sync with Meteor Shower.

Just to tell but .. I think that vid was made before Nightfall release ^_^

It would be funny for sure! But it's not common to see such build on HoH I think.

And .. could be useless versus some other spikes... and it would only save one player for 15 seconds max with Sb (with longer enchant).

It seem difficult to counter, but there's lots of possibility! First not gathering on the same spot ^^

Nope! It's an Elite. Glyph of Renewal. That make the next spell reloaded immediately after use. Just to be able to launch 2 meteor shower one after another.
