@braclo93...that red guitar with the two black pickups is a 1957(?) Fender Duosonic that was actually featured in another review clip. It was sold to a Japanese collector, who asked that before they ship the guitar to him to have Phil do a review on it.

I attended a Steve Howe guitar clinic and the electric he brought was a '54 Tele. During the Q&A someone asked about the guitar. Steve was so casual in his response, "Oh that, it's '54". But there was the most audible collective and reverent sigh emitted from the crowd I ever heard in my life. I sighed too even though to be honest I don't like Tele's at all. But it being such a revered classic I couldn't help myself.

They gave a tribute to Gary Moore because his death was so recent, with the news breaking probably right in the middle of editing one of these videos. If they had to give tribute to every fucking guitar god out there, they wouldn't get anything done. They are selling guitars and providing some entertainment, not pandering to whatever the fuck you want to see.

Re: Tone roll off pos. for neck pickup. Phil is right about it trying to replicate a bass line, this was original wiring for Teles before the first of the P-Basses in 54. Also useful for 'tic tac' bass lines when the full scale basses were used.

Crazy! I have a 52 reissue. And when I bought it... my friend ( a guitar shop owner) told me the same thing about the electronics in the early telecasters. And the FIRST jam I went to when I was demoing the guitar before I bought it, the bass player was late!!! so what did I do??? I did what phil said.. flipped it in the from position and played bass for a half hour. no one knew what was going on for the whoie first tune!!
