I've recently discovered and loved that book. Is pretty good.

Oh! Or Christean Feehans Carpathian novels.

Dark Destiny, Dark Desire, Dark Symphony, Dark Guardian, Dark yada yada yada. They are pretty good. About creatures called Carpathians that are like vampires but pure and they have a bunch of amazing skills and techniques. Vampires in there are portrayed and evil and tainted. BUT, the Carpathians are just and amazing and pretty darn cool. Check it out.

OMigawd! i've totally lost my intrigue for Twilight, **TrueBlood** satisfies ALL my vampy needs now. Not to mention the 1st episode made me read the 1st Sookie Stackhouse book (now i'm on the 2nd) and i loved that the writers are sticking close to the realm Harris set, AND i LOVE the expansion of the minor character roles!
